Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Friday Frolics

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!! Not a lot of frolics going on around here…except for The Kid Sage of course. I have been having some fun checking out the controls in my Three Way Teleport Tunnel…Mom caught me doing some fine tuning on the space time continuum calibrations…getting ready for our next search for the elusive long forgotten Necata canipbis…but I am totally digressing…ahem…

What? The space time calibrations need some work!

What? The space time calibrations need some work!

I have also been making sure everything around my step is in order and no one has made any adjustments in the height…I would totally know because then my front legs would like be dangling or something…

Yup, just the right height

Yup, just the right height

It has been pretty tiring doing all that work so I of course have been doing some of my frolics on my back…na’mean???

Frolic, frolic, frolic...zzzzzzz

Frolic, frolic, frolic…zzzzzzz

Ahem, koff, koff…moving on… Mom visited her friend Dr Josie, (Dr Josie was my Vet before she retired), and she got a great look at one of Dr Josie’s 6 cats being hospitable to a wee kitten she is fostering for a couple of weeks. The adult cat is 12 year old Captain Folker, of The Kitty Platoon

captain fokker uniform

and the kitten is a foster …Princess Violetta who is all of about 10 weeks old.

She has been running with the Captain and his other indoor brothers for a couple of weeks…she had a promised home…but they said they couldn’t take her right away for two weeks..then they abandoned her..”she is too small”…WHAT?.

CAN YOU BELIEVE???…anyway, she has already developed a long list and now down to a short list of adopters and will be headed to her forever home next week…but not before Mom got these shots ala silhouette…(click to bigify and see whole captions)

Well all is well that ends in a hiss I say…and I have some recent experience with that as you know…heh…heh…Princess Violetta took off after one of the other Kitty Platoon members and the Captain returned to his nap.  The Princess has selected one suitor to entertain over the weekend…she will likely be in her forever castle ASAP!!

I have been saving some photos of The Kid Sage until Mom Linda was like TOTALLY DESPERATE for something to post on my blog…she truly is a crazy sisfur…yeah, yeah…I allowed her on my king size bed this morning without a hiss, TWICE…guess she is gonna wanna be my sisfur…bummer, huh?…heh…heh

Paw Pats, Savannah

peeEss...The Kid Sage has a harness to play with…ok…to be tortured trained with because it appears she may, just may have some inclination toward being a therapy cat.  Only time and Dad’s love and training will tell…but she is so amazingly confident, yet gentle and trusting of all humans…it is a possibility…and well…Mom and I decided Dad needed a new project!!!!!!!!

You know, sometimes *I* think *I* could be a therapy cat–you know, for people whose cats give them too much love and affection. I could work with them so they could remember who is really the boss in the Human-Feline relationship, maybe give them a scratch or two, and a break-the-skin bitey? Think there’d be any kind of market for that?

Good to see you girls getting along (koff, koff) — well, WAAAAAAY better than before anyway!

Also, the kitten/captain pictures–for the WIN!

  8. How very different you both are. You’re scared of everyone and Sage might be training as a Therapy Cat. MOL! She takes god pics for a black cats.

  9. Savvy, it sure looks like you’re doing some frolicking…even though you don’t think so.

It would be awesome if Sage became a therapy cat! The mom wishes she had started training us when we were younger. Now we’re all older and probably wouldn’t do well at all.

    • Hey guys!! I am still in hiatus while the ‘rents are working…I sneak some visits here and there and hope you have noticed me show up now and again. The hope is that the therapy project will become Dad and Sage’s project…right now Mom is the one working Sage into her harness…MOL

  10. Oh My Cats! How could anyone NOT love this cute little kitty!! :-( But we’re sure the sweetie will find a nice home soon…

  13. Savvy, you are looking well rested after all that hard work this week. I think it would be cool if Sage was to become a therapy cat. She would have to go places which would allow you some meaningful alone time in your mansion.
    Happy Friday,

You look so cute in your tunnel there, Savannah – are you contemplating a teleporting trip?

Wouldn’t that be wonderful if Sage could be a therapy cat – maybe you would consider it too:)

  15. Aw a whole bunch of pretty kitties today!!!

  16. Seriously, because she was too small? people make me so angry! Well done to Sage here keeping everything crossed her training goes well!

  17. Hi Savvy! Love the pic of you in the tunnel! That is one cute little floofy kitten. Sage and Dad seem to be pretty big buddies and being a therapy cat would be really cool! Have a great week-end!

  18. Hi Savvy! Glad to see your step has not been tampered with…..good to keep an eye on our favorite spots!! As for Sage, I think it would be pawsome of her destiny is to be a therapy kitty. You’d be SO proud of her as your sister wouldn’t you? She’s a beautiful cat (not as beautiful as you of course!)……..as for that little kitten who had a home then didn’t have a home and now might have a home AGAIN – what kind of reason for not adopting is “too little” ???!!!! Crazy!!!! Well it sounds like she’s going to be just fine anyway!

    Hugs, Sammy

  19. Sweet! I worked with a therapy cat named Cuddles. She rode around in a cat stroller! I looked at her, but didn’t taste her because that would’ve been naughty, apparently.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  20. We’re so glad that you and Sage are slowly learning to share a piece of (large) furniture. Your Mom never thought the day would come, so that must be a real relief for her! What a great idea, to see if Sage can become a therapy cat! That would be a great use for her more outgoing nature.

  21. a therapy cat – cool!

  22. Can´t beleive that any human can say NO to Violetta !
Sage looks furry good in her green harness !
Keep my paws crossed that she will be a therapy cat so you get free time :)

    The Pigs xx

  29. OMC, how could ANY human change their minds about adopting a cutie as adorable as Violetta?! They lost out, that’s all I can say.

  30. If Sage got out to be a therapy cat there would be some extra for you – she’d be gone (even if it was just for an hour or two). ;-)

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
