Counter Surfing: Advanced Course

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

In the three years we have lived in this town home, I have never ever jumped onto Mom L and Dad P’s bathroom counter. I have only ventured onto the kitchen counter twice in our current home and once in our last home which we lost to the banks…that was my first home with Mom L and Dad P. (be sure to hover over each photo to view my captions)

I don’t like to jump up on anything higher than about 18 inches (45.7cm). The counter surfing I did in the past was a whole big whopping 36 inches! (91.4 cm)!!

But I haven’t done that for a while so you can imagine Mom L’s shock when right in front of her, I jumped straight up on their master bath counter…another 36 inch leap!

Thankfully Mom L has been living with her cell phone attached to her body because of our house search so she could snap a few photos of me investigating the new counter.

That wasn’t enough for me. I needed to do a bit more exploring. Mom L was getting ready to grab her shower so there were some interesting items stacked on the tub. I made sure to give them all a sniff or two.

For me that was very brave to inspect the bathroom like that. I just keep on gaining confidence. My recovery is long, and I slide back, but I always then take several paw steps forward. Thanks for all your support and encouragement my pals.

PAW PATS, SAVANNAH

What a brave girl you are becoming, Savvy. It must be exciting to explore things that have been right under your nose for such a long time, and very soon you will have a whole new place to explore. Hope it won’t take you three years to gain the courage. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. Emma likes to counter surf, actually she likes to go on top of the microwave on the counter, even higher, eh. She’s the climber and Buster is the one always UTB.

  3. Great job, Savvy! Boodie is our non-counter surfer… although once my human was surprised to find her in the kitchen sink!

  4. Whoa! I hope that bravery carrier on into the new house. I recently started jumping on the bathroom sink, something I used to do every day but haven’t done in a few years.

  5. It looks likeyou want to check everything out before it’s time to go, Savvy. 🙂

  6. Good for you, Savvy! You’re such a brave girl.

  7. Savvy, I hardly recognise you from the old Savannah!!

  8. I think Mum should keep her phone on her at ALL times if you are going to become Super stunt Kitty Miss Savannah!!

Oh and our Sienna counter surfs sometimes but only to get to the dormer window beyond the sink MOL!! Great bird TV there!

  9. Paws up, Savvy! Way to make big strides (or big jumps) with exploring. You’ve made amazing progress. Having Sage around has probably pushed you in ways you didn’t expect, and even though you don’t like to admit it, in the long run, she’s probably good for you. But it’s ok, we won’t tell her that.

  20. Savvy you are certainly making up for lost time by expanding your horizons all the time….counter surfing, inspecting interesting things “out of your comfort zone” – it all just proves that you are inching towards a new level of confidence and that’s just plain wonderful!

    Love, Sammy
