Ever Been to a Cat Show?
HIYA! SAVANNAH HERE!!
Let me answer that question for myself…no, no and heavens NO! And I am certainly not ever going to a cat show. However, I did send Mom L and Dad P to watch a cat show because my gal pal Summer was a participant!
Mom L was worried that Summer seemed terribly over stressed as she waited between showing in the different rings in which she would be judged.
Ahem…ok, maybe not ‘terribly’ over stressed. So moving on. We never knew that cat shows also include a category for Domestic House Cats. Who knew??!! And NO! I will not be entering but I might just send The Kid Sage off to hang out. She likes all that attention and stuff.
Check out some of the wonderful House Cats. That gorgeous very large male dark brown tabby really caught Mom L’s eye…and he WON!
Not much later…Dad P and Mom L joined Summer and her human while Summer was getting prepped for her next Premier All Breed competition ring. (hover over each photo to view the fun captions)
And then the competition heated up when the judge analyzed the last two Premier All Breed Cats. (hover over each photo to view the fun captions)
The last cat she saw…(hover over each photo to view the fun captions)
Mom L and Dad P and Spitty’s human and the typist for Christy Paws all waited holding their breath…would Summer win???
And then the judge gave that Japanese Bob Tail SECOND…saying he was her chosen first…UNTIL she saw the last cat in this ring…SUMMER!!! Taaa Daaaa…
If you love cats, then it is going to be a real treat to go to at least one cat show. Mom L and Dad P and Miss Mary, Spitty’s human, had a blast! And there are lots of great ‘cat related’ products you will likely never see in a store or even on line. Mom L scored a great tall sturdy cat scratcher for my Cuzin Leo…sold in the stores for about $50 USD and at this cat show, hand made, so heavy and sturdy…$20 USD!! And Cuzin Leo jumped on it and scratched, stretched out to his whole length, as soon as Dad P put it on the floor.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my gal pal Summer doing her ‘stuff’ and also learning a bit about cat shows.

How fun this must have been. OUr mom is pissed that she didn’t know about this. She would have loved to see a cat show and Summer in particular.

Do you live anywhere near Nor Calif?
That is great that your humans saw Summer doing so well at the cat show.
It was so much fun! (Well, the Human says so–*I* was not invited!) Also, the Human had a chance to pet BOTH Savannah *and* Sage before they set out for the show. It all turned out to be way more fun than she expected–the kitties at the show seemed very happy to be there and everyone was all so eggscited when Summer WON! These are great pictures!
I am so jealous they got to meet Summer. I went to one a couple months ago and got to meet Peaches and Paprika’s Mom and we also met Jake from The Daily Abys.
How cool that you got to see Summer in her cat show! That brown tabby who won the house cat ring has patterns a lot like Ashtons, but she says he can have the ribbons and the attention.
You’re so lucky that you got to meet Summer in purr-son! And yes, I go to a local cat show each year in January and I enjoy it so much!
The mom says it’s been a long time since she’s been to a cat show. She used to go all the time when they were in places closer to her. She loved seeing all the different breeds of cats. We’re so glad summer did so well!
M has been to a few cats shows, and loved them. She never had a kitty participate tho -she’d just watch. And she loved looking at all the toys and things to buy after the show was over. Really some neat stuff she said that you don’t find in stores. You are all so lucky that you live so close and could attend together. We would love to see Summer in person/////errr/////cat!
Momma loves cat shows. She really enjoys seeing the ginormous ones

Ooooooh Savvy this is such a lovely report! Thank you for giving us a flavour of the excitement an the show and seeing Summer win woohoo I bet you were all cheering like crazeeeeee!! (A small cat show huh???)
Hi Savannah, looks like a winner of a day for everyone! I don’t think I will be winning any awards, what with my… um… ear “situation”, but great that there was a house cat class. I hope there were some Tux’s flying their colours. purrs
mom has been to a couple to watch – she loves seeing all the different types of cats, but admits the house cat entries are her favorite 🙂
Wow!! I figured you had to be a special breed to enter into a show. Maybe my next housecats will be “groomed” for competition 😀
Whoa! TW would have loved to have joined your humans and Spitty’s humans at this show. Her cousin enters her fosters in the shows around FL and has won two years in a row. You’ll never see me at one of these shows either.
Summer is totally amazing and we are all super proud of her!!!

OH I would love to go to a cat show. There is never one to see that I am aware of. I would LOVE it.
Yay for Summer! All the kitties are so beautiful! But yes there was a lot of human photo bombing….. So fun!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
So cool your peeps got to see Summer!
It was pawsome
Another great blog. I have gone to one cat show, myself. Didn’t realize there were so many breeds. I’ll have one of each, please. Another great blog, Mom L.
I had so much fun seeing your humans, Savvy! And it was so awesome you actually got to see me get a Best in that ring, and hear all the awesome things the judge said about me. That is totally rare.
I’m also really happy that you had photos of the Household cat judging – that’s my human’s favorite part.
