Have Sun Puddle, Will Nap
HIYA! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
As you have heard me complain about before, our new rental home is rather absent of decent sun puddles; no matter where the Sun is during what part of the year.
However, you have all seen the paws down best sun puddle room in the house which I discovered the instant Mom L and Dad P finally removed all their junk stored wall art and allowed the blinds to be open. VOILA! That was where the sun puddles were hiding!!
What I haven’t shared is the new discovery! Made by yours truly, of course. Now I have to describe where this once illusive sun puddle was discovered. The first time it showed up was when Mom L pulled up the blinds in her office to let some light in. Starting in mid November, Miss Sun Puddle showed up! She lives during this time of year right behind Mom L’s printer stand. The big window goes down to about 12 inches (30.5 cm) above the floor. The window sill is 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide. So I hopped up behind Mom L’s printer and found this lovely warm delish spot…and no one can see me!!
Unfortunately, my hind leg went to sleep and I started to vigorously shake it (like we cats do when we get a paw wet) and my hind paw whackity whacked the back of the printer stand and I was discovered!
Mom L was overjoyed by my ingenuity in locating this miraculous sun puddle and she felt badly my hind paw kept going to sleep and I would shake and get up. So she added and extra whole inch to my new sun puddle spot by putting a nice cozy fleece blanket on the window sill and moving the printer stand back about an inch. The stand is very sturdy so I can just lean against it. Pawsome!
You can even see my reflection through the screen on the window.
You can see how much I love this spot. It is only around for about 2 hours tops in the mid morning and I try to catch it as often as I can…unless The Kid Sage has beat me to it. But with her black furs she gets hot really fast…heh…heh.
As the month of November moved along, so did Ms. Sun Puddle. Thankfully she is spreading even wider! Now she reaches our new cat tower.
And of course, I must share this as well with TKS. At least she knows her manners and keeps to the low ground.
I don’t mind, really I don’t.
PAW PATS, SAVANNAH

Allie: That was incredibly generous of you to share that amazing sun puddle!
Ah thanks Allie. I try to be kind to the Kid
Hoo Cat what a great sun puddle in such a fine spot Savannah! We kept whispering into Dads ear at night when he slept and he finally got the hint and cut the big tree down that was blocking our sun puddles.
Purrs you share with Sage
Timmy
Yay!! You Dad is a real DADCAT!!! Just like ours! I am trying to keep my paws on the keyboard and get round to visiting my pals. I am so far behind I am just starting over MOL
That is a lovely sun puddle. I can’t remember the last time I saw one!
And we wish we had fewer and more rain. Global warming is scary
Great job searching out that sunpuddle, Savvy! And how nice of you to share a little bit with TKS. 🙂
We have so few in this house I have to share
Sun spots are great. Even better when padded and share with friends
yeah, well I am not quite ready to call TKS ‘furriend’…heh…heh
MOL – well furfamily
That’s one pawsome sunpuddle, Savvy. And a this time of year, you gotta soak up all the sun you can get.
Yep, especially when you have just had an…ahhh…ahem, koff, koff…ahhhh…*whispers* in-ah-ma…shhhhhh
What a very pawesome discovery, Savannah! Enjoy that sunpuddles whenever you can!
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
Well it isn’t the excitement of finding a live bunny in your yard but whatever works, right?
I find a hedge and a light breeze works every time. Maybe your peep could create an indoor hedge for TKS with a fan? purrs
well, that will be tough as we are not allowed to go outside. Too many dangers abound in the out of doors for cats, at least here. But Dad P and Mom L would always have indoor cats no matter where they lived. I get a nice light breeze with the window open, so it works ok for me.
That sounds just as good then. We dont have the windows open so I try to bring some of my hedge indoors to give peep the hint of what I want but peep keeps taking it back outside again. purrs
Excellent discovery, BFGF! Here no matter the time of year, we only get sunpuddles from about 6-10 in the window but I have to move the blinds cos TW is still sleeping. Nice to see you two resting so closely.
That’s about all we do BFGF. I still jump on TKS for no reason and smacky paw her. Then I get embarrassed and get told ‘no’ by Mom L in a very stern voice…sigh
S & S…..tell yur dad ta get up on de roof & cut sum ran dom holez in it….guarunteed ewe will haz sum sun then…..ewe….bet cha !!! 🙂 ♥♥♥
Oh Savvy! I can’t find a sunpuddle to save my life! It has rained (ads it always does!!!!) 6 days in a row. We get 2-3 days of sun and then we are punished with 9-10 days of rain.
no, no…the rain is not punishment, but nourishment for the Earth. We so desperately need it in California. The trees, pines, redwoods, aspen and shrubs, manzanita, willow are all diseased and dying from no moisture. How can anyone not believe of global warming when it is staring us, in California, right in the eyes…so sad
Oh Savvy! That is meowvalous! You are clever to find that sun puddle! But let’s face it! It’s on the kitty radar!! xxx
Yes, but black panfur TKS can’t stay there for very long; she gets too warm
This time of year, sunpuddles truly are precious! Glad you’ve located a good spot!
Purrs,
The Chans
Please send us some of that rain that made Vidock’s enclosure a muddy play ground for him!
We are very happy to see you found a sun puddle!
Lily & Edward
Do you both like sun puddles? My woofie pal Cupcake likes to take a nap on the warm asphalt street when her Mom is with her
Wow, you have found some extra special snoozing spots following the sun puddle. Good job! Enjoy. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
It’s a tough job but this kitteh is up for it
Well, I am certainly glad you found a sun puddle!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It was hiding from me but I found it anyway
Hi Savannah,
I’m happy for you that you found your sun puddle. 🙂 Our “three office helpers” [http://tinyurl.com/hb2wdm4] found their spot, too. Not exactly in the sun, though. But if they had moved just a bit, they would have been in gthe sun.
Have a great Advent time,
Pit & the feline crew
*waves paw to Pit and Kitty Office Crew* so nice to see you in my comments. I visited your blog and left a comment. Love your office crew
🙂
that was nice to make you your own sun-island… I hope the sun saw it and she will send her warmest sunrays efurry day to your sun spot :o)
Ms Sun does come almost every morning to my new spot. It’s good for me, but sadly we need dark rainy days for months on end her in California. Our drought is now killing our famous Redwood forest as they are dependent on wet fog and lots of rain. So many dead trees in our mountains as well
Savvy I send you all my rain… we would need some dry days here… wish I had a magic spell for mixing the weather :o)
Glad you found a new sun puddle and Mom L made it comfy for you.
Now we has some shocking news to impart. Scylla was found cuddling with Yin, fur was touching. Purr motors were on full blast…………………
and the most shocking news of all, Scylla let Yin and Yang eat with her.
OMC!!! So awesome! I hope that one day I will do that with Sage but as she has been here two years now, it isn’t likely. We believe, as does our VET, that it is very likely I was once a feral cat. So, I have come a very long way
What an awesome spot, Savannah – and it looks like it just keeps getting better!
Yes Summer, Ms Sun is moving around and as she does we find a bit here and there in this house.
Oh now isn’t your Mum L, the nicest lady ever? Moving all her stuff so you can be comfortable. Yeah * thinks * I can imagine Sage would get VERY hot. Our Phoebe is a dark furry and she gets hot!
Yes, Sage doesn’t hang out long in full sun puddles
