Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Feline Exploration—One

HIYA!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I did so many things in about 30 minutes on Monday, I asked Mom L to split them all up into individual posts. I am so proud of myself for moving the target for being courageous a notch or two higher.

Now this won’t seem like much to most cats, but for me, a really, really big deal.

Part One is about a wonderful bench Mom L has in her office space. We have lived here for almost nine months and I have never, not ever, once jumped up on the bench. TKS does it all the time. Because I like to be close  to Mom L, and she spends so much time in this space taking care of administration of my blog, I decided to try out this bench.

What a soft cushion and pillow

What a soft cushion and pillow

Of course, she whipped out that camera faster than she can even walk! Never once thinking she would disturb my slumber.

"GOTCHA MOM L"

“GOTCHA MOM L”

I caught her in the act. Nonetheless, I am happy to share the first step in my Feline Exploration with all of you, my readers. Let me just say that I kept Mom L’s camera busy on Monday!

  1. Oohhh… What a COMFY looking bench. And that cushion? GORGEOUS!!! So happy you’ve decided to enjoy a little bench time, too. Purrs, Seville.

  2. Now THIS sunds really positive. I mean – WOW you are becoming a cool kitty with an ‘ordinary’ relaxed side (and I say that with the greatest pride).

Let me explain why I am proud of you buddy! We never thought Harvey would EVER have the confidence to leave the house, he was so nervous and scared (from his traumatic past) but, bit by bit, he finally made it outside. Like you he considers things long and hard before taking the first pawstep, and he agrees with you taking your time 🙂

Well done (Oh and we think its cool Mom L got you ‘on film’)

  3. Lovely post. And thank you for visiting mine (Living With Loulou) and I love your sexy eyes. I think they use to call those bedroom eyes, but that’s because we kitties are always wanting to be in the bedroom ASLEEP!

  15. Great job, S. It’s always so fun to find a new, comfy sleeping spot. Happy napping!

  16. Bravo Savvy! I’m so glad that UTB time is over and you discovered another comfy place of your kingdom :o) I needed 6 years till I used my dog bed, so it is really true… all good things need a while right?

  17. Good for you! It does look like a comfy spot to keep an eye on your Mom – I enjoy keeping my Mom company in her office too…..she has a fleece blankie on the floor for me and that’s where I park my buns and WATCH her (well I also NAP a lot!).

    Love, Sam

  18. You are just like my FunTom, Savvy, he needs the example of Kessy all the time and has meanwhile learned to A) sleep in one of the cat caves (something he never did before Kessy arrived!), B) hide on the sofa under the cover (something Kessy did from her first month here onwards and he only has copied since about last year!) and C) smack his lips to tell me he’d like to eat (Kessy uses that to beg for treats)! FunTom is 10, turning 11 this year and still learning!

  19. What a lovely, comfy place to nap that looks like, Savvy! It’s so obviously made for Feline Repose (mol).

  20. May have been a small hop onto that bench, but sure is a big brave step… Well Done Savannah. purrs E

  21. That looks like an awesome napping spot – I’m glad you decided to give it a try!
