My trip to my doc
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
So here’s what happened last week. I had’ta go to my doc ‘cuz I keep having these painful urinary tract infections. UGH! I absolutely do not enjoy riding in that car with those road bumps and curves to deal with.
My doc is a good man. I trust him and he is very kind with me. He is helping Mom L and Dad P keep me comfortable in my senior years. I have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and Mom L and Dad P give me fluids every other day. That helps lots! I also have irritable bowel disease (IBD), and have had this for about eight years now. I get prednisolone gel in my ear every other day. Over the last four years, I have lost most of my ear furs but my gut track is doing OK. I have had a probiotic in my wet food for years now and even Sage is getting that along with me as she has developed IBD. We both get weekly vitamin B12 injections from Mom L too and I get a once a month Solensia injection from Mom L for my severe arty-right-us.
So you can see I am being well taken care of. I get so stressed going to the vet that Mom L now rides in the back seat with me and she opens the front door of my carrier so’s she can give me chin scritches to keep me from stressing. I always try to peek out and catch a glimpse of the passing scenery.
You can see that even as a senior gal at eighteen years old, I still have my bright green eye color! I hope that all my senior blogging pals are doing good and that you are comfortable as you age. Do any of you have challenges like mine? What do your humans do to keep you comfy?

You do look great, Savvy. We used to always both go with Gracie to the vet — with one us in the back, just like Mom L does with you. You are so, so loved, sweet girl.

Sending PotP and healing purrz. We seniors are fighters, BFGF. I have CKD, arthur-itis and now may have heart disease. The last two are fairly now. I’m 18 and hate car rides and being at the vet and the peeps are scared taking me to get an ECHO will kill me from stress. They also wish, they knew enough to give me the Solensia shot at home as it seems to have helped me. They are at a crosswalk on how to help me live my best senior life.

You are in the exact right place, S. You were very brave heading to the vet’s house. That can be a scary place, but a necessary evil.

We hope you get on good at the vet….I have arthritis in my paws which mom gives me medication in my food I’ve also had a couple of seizures I don’t like them they scare me I’m 16 years old. Sending prayers for all us senior cats. We love you all.xx😻🐈⬛🐾

Awww, you do have a long list of medical issues, but like you said you are very well cared for, and love helps tons, too. You do have those bright inquisitive sparkly eyes!!
We did the prednisolone and VitB12 shots for both Pipo and Minko, back in the day…esp for Minko who became a special needs kitty at age 9… (Pipo was good till about the last few months of his 15+ years…)
