Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Me and my buddy Nanuk

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Mon L’s Facebook popped up with a “memory” from August of 2017. We had just moved to our final forever home where Mom L, Dad P and all of us kitties will be until we are all passed from this life. We love it being on the Delta of Northern California waters! The memory showed me, six years ago , doing back patio patrol with my long time plushy pal Nanuk. You can see there are unpacked moving boxes in the foreground, but there I am with Nukkers, making sure no strange introoders enter our back patio.

If you have followed my blog since I began, in 2012, you will know that Nukkers and I have a long relationship, over a decade! We have long watched our homes’ front and back patios—depending on where  the most introoder action is likely to be found. I have always licked his sweet pink tongue and nuzzled his nose to make sure he knows how special he is to me.

Mom L and I are gonna search for all my Nanuk photos and do a whole blog post of just me and him! Awesome, right?

This photo if from August 2012, taken in the very first home I shared with Mom L, Dad P and Nanuk. We made sure our front porch and yard was always protected from introoders.

Do you have a plushy pal?

Friday Memes for Friday SMiles

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

How’s your holiday weekend shaping up?? Ours is looking like hot, hot, hot!! But that doesn’t bother this Domino Kid!

When he snoozes. you can do just about anything with him—move him, push him—and he just keeps on snoozing. What a guy!

And then there is me. HAH!! Just leave me be when I snooze our else you will get my dragon hiss!!

But have ya notice? Lots changes when that stranger in our youth called “old age” shows its unwanted presence. I am determined to make the very best of what Ceiling Cat has given me in this, my second life after finding Mom L and Dad P, after being dumped in a night drop box in our county shelter in 2009. I think my old age is heaven sent—how’s about any of you oldsters?

Nothing unusual in my castle

HIYA !!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Nutt’in much new around my castle. Except you can see my furrs are gett’in a bit ungroomed. At eighteen, it’s tuff to get my cleansing “tongue sponge” to all my furrs to keep them in order. But, I am still trying.

So Katie and Domino, the younger castle residents are doing what they always do. Domino cannot ever let an unused box get past him. And goodness knows that Mom L does love her “River Road Double Oaked” California chardonnay!

And darling Katie has decided that my favorite late afternoon sun puddle, at the end of the new couch, is pretty nice for her little body. How can I object when she looks so darn cute!

And Katie has also taken over my love of lounging on our carpeted stairs. I no longer do that, but thank goodness Katie has found my beloved stairs and call them her own!

How are things going at your castle??
