The Cat Caretaker Syndrome
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
I don’t know what it is with everyone else, but when our cat caretaker arrives aka cat sitter, we immediately behave different from when Mom and Dad are home. Do you?
As soon as Miss Heather arrived, she snapped this photo of us…and then she found us just like this for the first couple of days she was here…’
Next, she totally busted me. When Mom L and Dad P are home, I always act fearful of eating in the kitchen with Sage in the mornings. That leads Dad P to do just what I want. He brings my soft food breakfast upstairs and serves me while I am snuggled next to Mom L. Perfect!
Then, when it comes to serving up my soft food dinner, I again act reluctant to dine with Sage, so I get served wherever I chose in the living room. Sweet!
Miss Heather sent this photo to Mom L and Dad P…and she tattled on me telling them I eat at my dining station in the kitchen, for both breakfast and dinner, all the time she is here! Bummer! Now they know my strategies for manipulating them at dining time, I have to come up with something else…any ideas pals??
Yup, you were busted all right. A mouses moment, for sure. MOUSES!
Purrs,
Nissy

Ooops Savvy time to come up with a new trick,xx Speedy
Gosh! We’re going to have to take notes because our humans never go anywhere (and we really do mean, anywhere!). Purrs…

Oh, yeah. You’re busted. All my pets act differently when others take care of them. Never wonder who is training whom. They are training us.

Whoa! What kind of rat do you have for a catsitter. She cannot be trusted. She shall be bitten. After not eating while Mom L was in hospital, I bet theyβll feed you somewhere again.
Eko and Penny like to see how much they can get away with when I have a friend watch them for a day. Pets know they can pull the wool over other people!
Is that a husky stuffie I see??? LOVE it!!!
Sage’s eyes in that first photo is just hilarious!!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
So, you’re not as “savvy” at manipulating the sitter as you are the parents, eh Savvy? BOL You have been caught red-pawed eating with the enemy! Oh, I fear you will have to come up with some GRAND scheme to get your breakfast in bed again.
Oz
We dunno, Savvy. It looks like you were busted! Maybe you could plead temporary insanity…the fact that your peeps were gone caused you to do things you never would do.
oh that means your secret is no longer a secret? shall I borrow you my fabulous strategy-catalog? btw: breakfast in bed is anyway the best… and with us anipals around there are no crumbs :o)
Well I have this feeling that Mom Linda enjoys those “breakfast in bed” moments as much as you do so I think maybe that will continue even if Miss Heather TOLD on you!!!!
Hugs, Sammy
Awww you’re busted!! Whee usually get the little hoomans twisted round our little paw but the big hoomans are harder to trick, especially when they think they can get away with not pandaring to our every need!
xxxx
Mom has only left me with a sitter once, and I stayed at her house with a fenced in yard. She told Mom I was a good girl. Mom said, “WHAAAAAATTT???”
Love and licks,
Cupcake
You’ve gotta WORK that pet sitter, Savannah! Binga has ours totally manipulated.
Aw Savvy, you’re busted! I hope you figure out something else, but wow, I can’t imagine what!
So true about behaving differently, when your humans are away. Mine do that too. My cats know their cat-sitter – she is a friend of mine and when she comes round for a visit, my Tom, who knows her longer, is friendly and not overly shy with her. But ALAS when I’m gone for a night or two! My cat-sitter asks me: “You have cats? I never see any.” First evening he does come out and even plays with her, but after one night without me being there he is not to be seen until I am back.
The look on Sages face is priceless hahahaaaha…and yes you are busted! we pop the kitties and pups in boarding when we go away…I have no idea what they get up to…but I do know they sleep like logs for days after haahah π loves Fozziemum xx
