Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Perhaps I Was Mistaken

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

So last blog post, here, I admitted I did not believe I had any of that exploratory gene that TKS seems to have in abundance. But I’ll let you all decide. The cupboard door was left open briefly, while Mom L collected something she needed, then she turned to use it…

Do you see anything alive in this cupboard?

Do you see anything alive in this cupboard?

Do you see anything in that cupboard that might be connected to a Russian Blue and white cat?

I knew they jig was up. Mom L found me out. So I politely exited.

Oh, gosh. That was exciting!

Oh, gosh. That was exciting!

*sigh*…Perhaps I DO have some of those exploratory genes like TKS after all. And you know what, I kind of like them!

  14. Maybe you realized how much fun TKS had exploring and decided to try it yourself. Nothing wrong with that, Savvy. Actually, it’s a lot of fun!

  17. Hi Sammy,
Our kitties don’t even to have cupboard doors left open for them. They open them themselves unless they are securely locked or blocked. They sure have exploratory genes in abundance.
Have a great day, and happy explorations 😉

  23. Awesome! I think everyone here would have had trouble resisting that temptation as well!

  24. Exploring can be fun, Savvy! We have a great, old photo of Pierre inside our entertainment center cabinet, but we have never shared it because the head peep is embarrassed about how messy it is inside the cabinet. Cabinets like that one you found are the best because they’re easy-access for exploration.

Careful Savannah! Someone might think you’re a Cat….with a capital C! But not to worry. I lived here 5 years before one of the upstairs residents realized my HuMom really did have a cat downstairs. Everyone else sometimes visited my HuMom’s private domain and had met me, or at least sighted me. But I didn’t feel safe going upstairs near where the young man lived until after Hitch came. Maybe when the young Man had the smell of cat on him I felt he was safer? Even if that cat was Hitch? The trick is, never let the humans know why you do what you do when you do it. Maybe seeing Kid Sage explore helped you decide to look around, or maybe you wanted to all along….you and I know, but these humans can only ever guess. If they want a more predictable pet…,I say, get a fish. I love fish!
    And I love you too!
Mistletoe …..,yes, and Hitch, or as I call him, Hissssitch! Lovingly …of course!

    • Mistletoe we have a lot in common girlfriend. 3 years in my home now…wish I wasn’t still so scared of Dad and that I could learn to play with TKS. I try, honest I do. But once I try to engage her, I don’t really know what playing with another cat is supposed to be like…so I end up hissing…sigh…maybe one day

  26. Explorin can be fun.

  27. I think exploring is fun, Savannah – I hope you do more of it!

  28. Savvy, it’s so good you are starting to enjoy Exploring. It’s great fun. We love cupboards. We have even learned how to open Mummy’s wardrobe. And once We are inside, Trixie pulls the sliding door shut with her claws so Mummy doesn’t guess where We are. Maybe you could learn to do that too. Then you could hide from your humans with their flashy boxes!

  29. Well Miss Savvy..seems you do have a secret side that is wanting to come out! I do hope this is more of your REAL SELF as you will really have some fun now! 🙂 luvs Miss Bev xx
