Using Facial Expression to Control Your Human
HIYA! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
Glad to see you all stopped to read my blog post. I have very important information to share. You see, I have heard some of my pals say that I am a very serious cat. I always seem to have a stern look on my face and in my eyes.
Let me explain. You see, I use my facial expressions, and my eyes, to control Mom L. Especially when she has the clicky box in her hands. MOUSES! With those opposable thumbs, she can take a photo one handed if necessary. I don’t ‘do’ staged photo shoots so Mom L has to catch as catch can or so they say. But I make sure she knows exactly how I feel and how long I will tolerate her brandishing the clicky box around me.
Point One
Never allow the human to take photos while you are having a nice cozy nap. If they do such a thing, be sure to give them this look: The Eye of Discontent
Point Two
Do not allow ‘candid selfies‘. This simply lets them believe they are in control. You must be stern when this happens. Control the number of times they click that camera with this look: Are You Out of Your Mind
I hope these couple of pointers help all of you, feline or canine, gain better control of your humans. Mom L requires daily control so I have had lots of practice. If you need any more pointers, just let me know in comments. I am sure I can start sharing some of my techniques for applying facial and eye expression to control humans. We all know, humans need to learn we are definitely not ‘stage props’…just sayin’…
Good tips Savannah…me uses both xpreshunss on LadyMum…shee iss all ways sneekin around with thee cammyra!! Shee finkss mee iss asleep butt mee purrtendin so mee can sir[rize her 😉

Savannah those were some great looks that I can practice on Dad. Our problem is that Dad leaves the house on weekends when he KNOWS he should spend every minute with us. What do you suggest for when he comes home?

It’s just darn hard keeping these humans in line!
😺 Great advice there – adding a good, hard tail FLAP adds to the warning message – especially if you just “happen” to show your sharp claws at the same time!😼
Excellent tips, Savvy! That Eye of Discontent is pawsome!
MOL, I need to work on this!
just found your comment in my spam! bummer. Haven’t had that happen for a while;purrs to all of you
Oh I agree whole heartedly Savvy! That is why I look less that happy in most of my photos. Get that flashy box OUT of my face I say!
Luvs
Marty
high paws Marty…exactly what I say!
We use those tricks, Savvy, but for some reason, the mom still clicks away. Sheesh.
too bad guys; I can usually stop Mom L in her ‘click’ when I give her these looks
I absolutely would relish any other control maneuvers you have. Please. Even once a week would be super. All humans are wayward!
You are spot on Katie! They are indeed a wayward species
I must not allow my kitties to read this, I have a hard enough time getting photos of some of them.
oooopps!! too bad Miss E, I sent them both soft and hard copy of these pointers
I need to work on these faces – I have a very hard time controlling my human, especially when she is holding a camera.
I have noticed Summer that you do allow your human to take great advantage of your kind and generous nature. Be firm, make her have more outtakes…heh…heh
Well dang Savvy, we all voted and the eyes have it!!!
See Brian!! I just KNEW you and your sisters would totally get it!
savvy…..we like de look oh dizz content de best !!! ♥♥♥
I thought you would appreciate my pointers
Great advice that I use often. You may notice how annoyed I look in most pics. That’s cos TW always oversteps her boundries and foto sessions can last 2o shots or more.
Mom L is exactly like TW; she always wants ‘just one or two more’…seriously? What do they think we are? Models??!!! HAH!
I hope you get treats for posing. I’ve only starting getting them recently.
Those hypnotic eyes are a powerful tool. My facial arsenal goes from confused to worried and back to confused. I got nuthin’.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Very good explanations sweet Savvy and you are looking most beautiful sweet lady. We hope you all had a very nice Christmas ours was very nice with family and friends. Mumsy is trying to figure out what direction she wants to take with the blogs so we can get back to blogging and visiting blogs. We thank you all for all of your visits and we wish you a very Happy New Year dear friends. Love, hugs and nose kisses, Mumsy, Chancy and Pooh
My peep tries to use those, and believe me its not a pretty sight! Nobody can do expressions like a cat. purrs
Thanks for the tips
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
ha! I knew it… my dad is a cat…. he makes the same “this is not the right time face” like you… but you are much cuter :o)
I am impressed with how well you have MomL under your paw and in control. Those are great looks, and I’ll have to practice them.
Nice pointers! We try that, but the humans totally ignore our expressions.
