Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Waiting is tough—but worth it!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

What do you do when you wait? And I mean like wwwaaaiiitttt for stuff like, well, you know—FOOD?

You know that I do love me some carpeted stairs, right? They are my very own personal cat tree. Even TKS doesn’t play on my “stair cat tree” like I do. She knows this is my domain.

In our forever home, my stairs are placed perfectly for me to keep an eye on all that goes on in the SOFR or “Source Of Food Room” which the humans call cat-chin I think. You now the room I mean I’m sure. Well, I hang out there every evening waiting—waiting—and waiting some more. Usually I have to sort’a entertain myself while I wait.

dumtee—dootalee—fiddle dee do—

I don’t wanna look impatient or such so I try to take advantage of whatever entertainment is on the TV. I can see it great from my stair cat tree. But usually Mom L has it parked on some stoopy thing like crime drama. You’d think by now she would know I’d much prefer the “Fish and Streams” channel that my pals over at Trout Town Tabbies founded.

Finally!!! Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! FISH!!

Eventually, I have to let Dad P know that I am about done with this “waiting” for my dinner. Thankfully Dad P is a lot quicker on the uptake than Mom L is.

Dad P?! I have had it with Mom L’s TV—I am booored and hungry!

And like magic, Dad P has connected with me and my want and need and the next thing you know—I am dining on the stair cat tree landing. This is what I call SERVICE!!!

Yummm! Worth the wait!!

So let me know in comments if you WAIT is WORTH it!!! Come on my pals, share your experiences with makin’ the wait worth it!

PAW PATS, SAVANNAH

The Momma wishes me to tell you that when she has to wait, she very sweetly digs her razer-sharp claws into my leg and looks up at me with her beautiful blue eyes – all while purring very loudly!

  5. Savvy, I LOVE seeing that picture where you were tired of waiting. That expression would have alerted a STATUE to come to your aid!

  6. That’s some good service sweet Savvy!

You look very comfy in your stair lookout point, Savannah. We all like to position ourselves in whatever spot gives us an eye on all the peeps around us. You never know when one of them will have something tasty to share.

Definitely the wait is worth it – but at my house, human #1 is quick to feed me – the male one though (#2-) doesn’t feed me at all. He just sits and waits for my favorite human to get home)she does all the cooking around here, and the minute she walks in he says, “What’s on the menu?” (You should see the look on his face when she brings out the Fancy Feast)!😹

  14. Dads seem to be more inclined to provide room service I notice.

  15. What service indeed! That stair cat tree looks very cool. Our stair cat tree isn’t covered in carpet, so it’s not as comfy for our cats.

Stair service in a fancy bowl, you are lucky.

  17. Dad P totally gets you, S. I love that he serves you right on the stairs and doesn’t expect you to come down. I used to carry my bowl so I could eat on the living room chair. Mom got me a new bowl that I can’t pick up. She does NOT get me.

I find waiting difficult, but the waiting I find hardest of all is when my bipeds are preparing for a long hike with me. I know the first signs and then it takes them ages to get the rucksacks (backpacks) packed. It takes them forever to lace their boots! But, yes, it’s definitely worth the wait! 🙂

  19. Oh, we have differences about waiting here! Binga thinks that wait is a four letter word! And actually she is right, it does have four letters, but I’m pretty easy going about stuff.

  20. We don’t believe in waiting – unless it is Our Human waiting on Us. If She isn’t quick enough, We take action. Caspurr jumps on door handles and opens all the doors he can, all the while loudly singing the Song of Our People. And Shimshi helps him. And I, Queen Trixie, follow Mummy around with a Piteous Expression until Guilt gets the better of Her and She serves up Our B’teavon-bons.
    We neffur tip…

Im 11 now and don’t like waiting I need my food as soon as my tummy tells me. It’s the only time I get under mum’s feet or put on my please feed me me-ow. I also sit by my empty dish with my big sad eyes and mum always gets the message. .😻🐾🐾🐾
