Monday Meowsie News: Brief update on last week’s rescue
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
I’m pleased so many enjoyed learning about how Mom L and her buddy Miss Jeanne trapped mom cat using her kittens as bait! Believe you me, they had a ton of coaching text messages to get them through it!! But now they can both say “been there, done that!!!”
Many of you asked if we were still trying to get the person who lied about being with a legit cat rescue named Kitty 911 (K911) East County. I don’t know if K911 is still trying, but Mom L quit ‘cuz that person wouldn’t ever return her calls once Mom L started asking if she could pick up the two kittens. We don’t know why this person chose to lie to the really nice man on Nextdoor who was asking for help. The person is self reporting to the man that they are being well cared for but then when Mom L talked with them asking them to foster mom cat and the other six kittens, they refused unless they got money for food and medical if needed. So makes us wonder if this person has the ability to care for the kittens long term and get them S/N and vaccinated and adopted. We worry. K911 did report this person by name and phone number to our county animal services. You can find the legit K911 and see all that they do on Facebook here.
These are the only two photos we have of the two kittens the person took. I think that blue thing is a warming disc, at least I sure hope it is.
These were when they were likely less than 5 days old.
Sure would have been great if that person would have given them back to their mom cat. Just look how happy she is once she was reunited with her other six kittens!
I have lots more to tell you about all the community cat rescue Mom L and Dad P have been doing. But one of those stories is gonna be a long one. Hope you all have the patience to read it in installments!!
Oh Savannah & Mom L this is a sad situation. I shared with you both about what happened to Sheila & I during our time with FCR~Owen Sound group. The woman named ‘Caren” was supposed to be this wonderful foster mom….she got lots of supplies from our founder or group & then approached me online desperate & I bought the story hook, line & sinker. In the end I spent ALOT of money for supplies plus gave her $25. cash.
A few days later I found out she had scammed me & I was VERY angry. When I tried to contact her Caren blew me off. Then when Nikki & I tried to go for Mum & the kits she called Police on us! We had no alternative but to leave empty handed & heartbroken. Caren put kits on Kijiji (like your Craigslist) & sold them…she made a lot of money. And we never did see Mum ever again.
It was one of the worst experiences of my life!!
Your Mum cat is gorgeous! I hope there IS a way to retrieve her last 2 kits. Let us know if you do…..
Much love, Sherri-Ellen & **purrsss** BellaDharma
We wish they had allowed the kittens to reunited with their Mother too. It’s really hard for young kittens to survive without their Mom cat even when they have a human with good intentions trying to save them. We are so lucky Chimera made it she was so very young when we found her.
Hey Savannah. How’ve you been? I’m not much of a writer but since Mistletoe has left I suppose I’m going to have to practice. Anyway, what prompts this comment is Momma Cat from this post. Great job directing MomL and her friend MissJ in getting her and the kids to safety. You do a great job with your humans. Anyway, back to my point. As you may know there’s a new fellow in my house. Guy by the name of Kory, although the HuMom calls him Koko, but whatever, she calls me Hitchard …and I don’t have any idea what that means…but anyhow this Kory kid, he’s not just a DSH, oh no, the lady that left him here says he’s a “Korat”. Apparently “Korat” is a special way to pronounce “cat”? Well I noticed that your friend, Momma Cat, looks a whole lot like this Kory guy, right down to the “green eyes that look like dew on a lotus leaf”. Now, while I think using special words to say Gray Cat is pretty silly, it seems to get some humans real excited and I though this information might help her find herself a forever home after she’s done raising those kids. Heck, could even help the kids too…who knows? Anyway, thanks for reading this. See ya around. Hitch out.
So sad that some wouldn’t help without money. I hope those 2 are OK. Mama does look happy with her babies.
How sad that the person won’t return the kittens to their mom. But at least the other 6 are with her.
I am sorry you can’t get the kittens back. I am going to share your post and thank you a MILLION TIMES for saving the lives. The Mum cat looks a total beauty, almost a pedigree. My anger is unwritten but believe me it’s there!!!

It is very troubling that the person would not let the kittens return to their mom. I hope they are okay, but I have my fears about it.
I’m with everyone else – I hope the kittens are well and safe but it sure sounds sketchy. glad someone reported this.
Bit of a strange disturbing story–hope things work out for the young ones.

Such thoughtful people. Do they not understand they wee kitties need their mom. I just love reading your blog.
I hope things turn out okay for those two kittens. I don’t think people realize how hard it is to take care of such tiny kittens. It’s good that you were able to get the others and the mother.
I hope the other two kittens are reunited with mom and I am pretty sure that is a plastic cover in there with them.
Nooo – this person is bad, really, really bad. You do not seperte kittens with still closed eyes from their mum. You know what? I fear they could not keep the kittens alive and do not have the courage to tell you.
I hope those kittens are okay – it sounds really suspicious. My human hates it when things wind up like this.
wow that was a strange person you had to deal with… I hope there is a happy end…
