A Selfie with an Invitation

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

First off, I am going to be sharing an offer with you from The Natural Pet Company and yes, I was compensated for passing along this invitation from them. But, my opinions about this great little pet product company with big ambitions are all mine, mine, mine.

Next, my stupendous selfie…

I sure am gonna miss this step

I sure am gonna miss this step

Of course I am joining my pals from The Cat On My Head for their infamous Sunday Selfie Blog Hop. Click the badge and go check out some great selfies!

Now about that invitation from The Natural Pet Company. You may recall, in 2013, this company gave me a bag of their premium Catnip to review. And you may recall, I was not and still ‘am’ not much into ‘the nip’.  However, this particular catnip chimed my paws for sure. Click HERE to see my full review from 2013.  This video clearly demonstrates how enthused I am about their catnip. Seriously, I do not have such a reaction to any other catnip.

Alas my bag is long gone. I am crossing my paws that a new bag shows up in my mailbox…well, that it if they get it through all this change of address stuff we are going through…sigh…one can only hope, right?

The Natural Pet Company is launching a new website and they have a VIP Club which only requires Amazon Prime membership. Greenies Feline Dental Treats Are The Cats’ Meow!!

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

We agreed to post a product review for our friends at Chewy.com.

logo.20130121

It was easy for us to agree to do because we both like the product they sent. I know most of you already know about Greenies Feline Dental Treats but it never hurts to read about them again to remember how much they can help us felines maintain good dental hygiene.

Sage tends to prefer the Oven roasted chicken, but then she is a chik-a-holic. As for me, Greenies are the only treat that is a bit large, not little bite size, which I will eat and I prefer Catnip and Over roasted chicken.

Now I had my first dental, after coming to my forever home, a year ago. I had to have one tooth, a cat-nine, extracted.

The vet said brushing my teeth would help prevent further tartar build up etc. Mom L and Dad P exchanged looks…”like as if THAT will ever happen…”   They know me well.

So, Greenies are my ‘go-to’ toothbrush so to speak.

Here are some of the great benefits brought to our feline health by Greenies Feline Dental Treats:

paw_15px.jpg Cleans teeth and keeps our breath fresh

paw_15px.jpg Has natural ingredients with added vitamins and taurine and chlorophyll for better kitty health

paw_15px.jpg Can be used daily as a treat because one treat is only 1.25 calories

paw_15px.jpg Comes in 6 delish flavors: Oven roasted chicken, Ocean fish, Savory salmon, Tempting tuna, Catnip and Succulent beef. (we taste tested the Catnip)

paw_15px.jpg Lastly…Feline Greenies Dental Treats are the only cat treat that can wear the Veterinary Oral Health Council Seal of Acceptance for feline tartar reduction.

Now for the results of our product taste testing.  I let The Kid Sage go first. (be sure to hover over each photo to view the complete caption…it’s worth it…trust me)

I, however, have a bit more restraint. I prefer to inspect with my eyes first, then my nose and lastly my taste buds.

And yes, I always keep a close watch for TKS should she dare to try and steal my share of the Greenies.

Is My Blog Going To The Woofies?: Monday Meowsie Product Reviews

SPT sidebar 02

HIYA!!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

What a day, what a day…we were invited by the people at The Honest Kitchen to select one of two treat products they wanted to have reviewed.  I call it “taste testing’ myself…

*slurp* bring it on

*slurp* bring it on

Mom L and I checked out both products, and of course, I, Savannah the blog owner, selected the cat treat which was Smittens Icelandic Haddock treats.  Their website describes them as…

Smittens™ fish cat treats are made from pure, wild, line-caught Haddock from the pristine waters off the coast of Iceland. They’re high-protein, low-fat and low-carb with just 1.1 calorie per treat. Smittens are delicious and perfectly aromatic, with a texture cats love – not too hard with just the right amount of crunch!

So, I thought OK…bring those fishies on over for a little taster testing, but then Mom L said no…let’s check out the ingredients first…

Savannah: Seriously Mom L???

Mom L: Yes Nana, seriously

The ingredients are:
Dehydrated haddock

Guaranteed analysis
Protein, 83.5%
Fat, 0.85%
Fiber, 0.75 %
Moisture, 11.85%
Calories
1.1 calorie per treat

Now these were ‘Mom L’ approved for taste testing and I thought we were finished selecting what product we would use for a product review.

 WRONG, WRONG, WRONG…

Mom L: You know Savannah, these dog treats, the Duck and Cherry sound so interesting…let’s taste test these too

Savannah: *whiplash neck twist* WHAT??!!

And so…Miss Tammy’s woofies got to taste test the Nuzzle Treats made of duck and cherry…

I would only allow Miss Tammy’s woofies to do this on my blog, I owe her big time as you all know.  She saved my life literally when I was at the kill shelter in 2010.

Only for you Miss Tammy

Only for you Miss Tammy

Now, on to the actual taste testing product reviews

You want to meow about ‘stinky goodness’???  This totally qualifies for the ‘stinky’ for sure!!!  Now the ‘goodness’ determination will need to be left up to finer palates than mine.

As you can see…I just was not ready to give these treats even one claw up…but then I have always had a very discriminate set of taste buds. (hover over photos to see complete captions)

The Kid Sage brought in a big FOUR PAWS UP!!  She could not get enough!

As long as Mom L was going over to Miss Tammy’s to get her woofies to do the Dog Treat Taste Test Product Review…I suggested she might want to offer some of her cats, maybe even Tigger, a chance to give these treats a whiffy and lick…just to balance out The Kid Sage (4 UP) and me (4 down).

Here you can see Bee and Tigger…frankly Bee made a bit of a fool of himself.  You see he tried several and then when Miss Tammy tried to offer some to the other cats, Bee made such a fuss, and he followed her yowling for more!!  As you can see Bee gives them a definite FOUR PAWS UP and so does TIgger give them FOUR PAWS UP.

Let’s give you some information about the woofie treats before you watch the chaos that ensued for this ‘product review’…*shakes head…shameful, actually, just shameful*

The Honest Kitchen Nuzzle Dog Treats are described on their website as…

Our Nuzzles™ dog biscuits are made with duck & cherries for a luxurious, rich & irresistible flavor. Nuzzles natural low-calorie dog biscuits might be low-calorie, but they certainly don’t skimp on flavor!

Made from human grade ingredients, Nuzzles all natural dog biscuits are crafted into a larger, heart-shape and have the perfect consistency for a dog biscuit – not too hard and not too crumbly. Plus, with just 2.3 calories per Nuzzle, you can share them often – a perfect bedtime snack.

The treats are made from…Barley flour, duck, molasses, water, eggs, coconut oil, cherries and parmesan cheese

Guaranteed analysis
Protein, 12.5%
Fat, 4.0%
Fiber, 1.2%
Moisture, 8.2%

Calories
Just 2.3 calories per Nuzzle!

And now for the woofie review…first up  is Heidi, a Corgi/Dachsie; then Huntley, a Britany spaniel/Basset Hound and last is Sammy the Dachsie…you can read about Sammy’s rescue here

The final count for The Honest Kitchen Cat Smitten Haddock Treats is:

4 Paws Down

12 Paws Up

For the Nuzzle Dog Treats with Duck and Cherry:

12 PAWS UP!!

That is my taste test product review for The Honest Kitchen’s Cat and Woofie Treats…and NO…we were totally NOT compensated for our reactions to the taste product assessment of their cat and woofie treats…and NO we were not reprimanded for the fact that I, Savannah, did not care for the Smittens Haddock Cat Treats.  The Honest Kitchen gave us one 3oz Cat treat box and one 3oz Woofie treat box…that is their total involvement in this taster testing product review.
