GREETINGS!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
This is my most favorite blog post of the year. The Blog Blast For Peace. My humble gratitude to Miss Mimi for starting this movement in 2006. Click here to visit her blog post about the beginning of this movememtn.
This is OUR world; all flora (meaning plant life) and fauna (meaning all animal life, both domestic and wildlife) and humans. And yet most humans still prefer to see this as ‘their’ world. This means that the flora and fauna are ‘less than’ and humans feel free to determine what species, other than themselves, may live or die.
Does this mean that no flora or fauna kill one another; of course not. But all of us, the flora and fauna, know how to maintain the balance, if only the humans would stop intervening.
Look at the habitat loss for so many of our avian roomies. My community cat (feral) extended family members are blamed because the humans refuse to point their finger of accountability squarely upon themselves. Yet these humans who point their one finger to all cats who live, most without choice, outside, accuse us of destroying avian and mammal species to the point of extinction.
*rolls eyes*…seriously??*
My dream for peace for ‘our’ world is that humans will one day open up their ‘adopted beliefs’ about species with whom they have little to no experience or understanding. Humans will acknowledge that they have much to learn from all ‘fauna’ in general and from all community cats specifically.
These cats, small and large, are all from a ‘feral’ living environment. None of them asked “Please let me be a feral cat”. Humans dumped, abandoned and discarded them as though they have no right to live on this globe we call “Home Earth”. And yet, here they are, through no fault of their own, attempting to reconnect with the human species. Please hear their silent voices in this following slideshow.
Humans are the all-powerful on our shared Home Earth. They control the ability to make change, to make peace and acceptance of others different from themselves, a reality.
