All Righty Dighty…Back Again…Savannah Here!
So I kinda think my post yesterday was really a longy…but then I had to share all the stories my volunteers told me, so hope you were OK with that.
I’m gonna make this post shorter…but I really want to tell how my Dad and Mom found me ‘cuz it is so cool how it happened…no, really, it is…just listen…..
So–Its November, 2011 and the Contra Costa Times runs an article: Shelter Gives Cats Another Chance by Lisa White (no kidding…meowww). My Dad reads it…he and my Mom were looking for a place to volunteer where they could be with cats. See, really sad…they had just had to put their last of 3 cats to forever sleep…Tasha who was 17. And, they lost her bro’ Boris in June 2011 and their pal Popcorn in Oct 2010…very sad but they all were 16-17 and Dad and Mom were really good with them and of course, they were all rescue cats..natch..that’s what my Dad and Mom do![]()
Now…Mom drops by just to check out this Kitty Corner…loooooovvvveees it! Then she gets Dad down for a visit. Well, one of the volunteers…Mark (he was in my post yesterday) was there…and makes sure to show Dad the fab’ gray femal Russian Blue cat hiding in a cubby.Yep..you got that right…it was me! Of course… sad to say, but I was hiding with only my butt showing…meowwwww…embarrassing but it was what it was…sigh.
So Dad, who is just the coolest guy…real gently…he rubs my butt, I turn around and let him have a go at my head…nice. Then Mom sees me…she gives me some pets…real nice hands. Mark tells them how withdrawn, depressed and scared I am…says I am one of his favs! Yep, me!
Anyways, long story short…Mom and Dad start to volunteer–they do the cleaning at Kitty Corner every Thursday AM. And…they decide to foster me so I can get a break from KC. So…they take me home…and I will talk more about how that went in my next post….then by January 2012 they decide…….drum roll please! YES…they fail as foster parents and boom…I am now in my total forever home!!! The confetti now please!!! ![]()
Not to say we haven’t all 3 had some moments over the last 3 months…but just sayin’…ya notice I now have my own gmail account, a word press blog for my autobiography and yes, I Tweet too! Guess who rules!!!
Ok, guess that’s enough for today. I’m kinda pooped…’cuz Mom and Dad tried to sneek out this morning (like I wasn’t watching HA!) so they could go kayaking and look at shore birds and stuff (as though I wouldn’t a liked the bird part…huh?) Anways, I stayed pretty much awake waiting for them…so now I wrote all this…Mom edited it of course…and I’m ready to go get her so’s she can give me a brushing…sooooo relaxing

Dear Savannah – Yes, it was really a miracle that we happened on to Kitty Corner when we did and noticed you right off the bat. It was wondeful that Mark and his sister, who was visiting, pointed you out to us. Kinda makes you think it was meant to be doesn’t it? Sorry we were away so much of yesterday. In the morning it was kayaking and then dinner out with Suzanne (you remember her) and Kevin. You certainly are getting comfortable around the house. Kind of making it your home. This morning when we bumped into each other in the kitchen doorway you didn’t run (for the first time). Just stood there until I moved over and then sauntered past. And then where do I find you but curled up in your bed in Mom’s office, basking in the sun. Still a little nervous about someone reaching out toward your head (memories of ring worm treatment), but getting better every day. Here’s hoping it continues. Love – Dad
