MEOWSIE WOWSIE! Sunday Appreciation
Well wonders will never cease! I have been brought to my humble paws by the recognition I have been given in the recent days and weeks via Awards from other furriendly bloggers.
So my Sunday post is to thank all those who have bestowed these treasures on me…and I am just an adult cat trying to recover from being dropped at a shelter 2 years ago (don’t know my circumstances before that)…and now finding my own way in my furrever home with support from Mom and Dad…and now from all of you. I am just trying to write daily about the steps I am taking in my recovery process, sometimes forward, sometimes (fewer) back. And I try to share the good and not so good with you. I want to help other peeps learn that adopting an adult cat from a shelter can be hard work, but we are worth every minute you spend on us…’cuz we give it back in multiples with just one loud purrrrr.
I admit, I have been damaged in my heart, soul and mind from living for so long with terrible fear. I don’t trust peeps in general, but Mom and Dad have earned my trust in just 6 short months enuff so’s I let them play with me, feed me and make googoo talk to me! MOL
Without further adieu…here are the Awards and the furriends who passed them to me:
Big Boy Jetty over at Hey…It’s Jet Here passed the Liebster Award to me. Now you may recall I was given this already, but I want to acknowledge my canine pal for having thought of me.
This Award is for bloggers who have less than 200 followers…and Oh My Cat do I fit into that one MOL…I have like 31 blog followers max…no problem with my qualifying! I wanted to be sure Jetty knows how much I appreciate his thoughtfulness in thinking of me…paw pats Jetty!
Sammy over at One Spoiled Cat and Satch at Satchmo The Cat both Awarded me with the Illuminating Blogger Award…thanks ever so much guys…kind’a special to be thought of by the “old hand” at blogging Mr Sammy and the new kid on the blog Mr Satch! High Paw Pumps to both of you!
All I have to do when accepting this award is share ONE random interesting thing about me…hmmm…ok, ok…so here it is…like, errrr…ummm…well…alright already…here it is…
I TALK IN MY SLEEP! Yep…Mom and Dad hear my grating whiny little ‘meow’ and come running ‘cuz they think something is wrong…and there I am…snoozing soundly…sigh
And then my best piggy furriends, Nibbles, Nutty, Bingo and Buddy at Hutch A Good Life gave me TWO Awards…how lucky am I to have such special furriends as these guys. And they gave me a great suggestion for having more fun with my paper bag…so Mom shredded some newspapers and put it in the bag…whoa! Guys! What a rush!! So thank you all for thinking of me.
And, my suave cat pal Texas, at Texas, A Cat in New York, also nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. So Mr Texas, mon cheri…merci beaucoup…
Both awards request that you post a link to the person who gave you the award and the award symbol, done. They also both ask for me to reveal seven things about myself that you might not know, so here they are:
1. I have only 2 whiskers over my left eye…and 4 over my right one
2. I only like canned cat food with fishies or liver
3. My Dad calls me “Princess”

5. I am an equal opportunity cat…I snuggle half the night with Dad, then move to Mom for the other half (more night time pets that way)

7. Some of my best furriends in the bloggy and Twitter and FB world are dogs
Now the last Award I was given is a brand new one I guess…and my very upbeat furriend Jay over at All That Jazz Cat surprised me with it…I luvluvluv ya Jay! High Paws!!!
Magical Cat Award
The Magical Cat Award – a Dotty Headbanger and MagicallyMad Production – for Feline Contributions to the Magical Art of Blogging
This is an award for contributions to cats in blogging. Because cats are important to both mental health and to blogging. Even if you’re allergic, or a dog person. It comes with no rules but bloggers awarded with it may extend it with pride to any blogger who happily presents feline affinities on their blogs, takes care of felines or even who references felines. Exotic felines, gigantic felines, extinct felines, domestic felines, fantasy felines, etc.
Whew…quite a haul for such a new cat on the blog circuit…and I am humbled by such recognition and thoughtfulness. As you know, most of these come with a request to pass them forward to others…and the number of blogs ranges from 2-15! So here is my conundrum…I am way new at doing a blog and at finding other blogs to follow…and then when I try to follow, I find I can’t for some technical reason. So I struggle with increasing the number of blogs I myself can follow…my staff is working on this but she is slow (sorry Mom!)
So…I am going to do this…I am passing forward every Award on today’s post to the following blogs:

It is the commitment to making the time to share with your readers that is amazing to me…I work my paws off just getting my post entered for the day…not to mention the planning meeting me and Mom have where we story board what I will work on for a few days…then when I do something totally cute, or unexpected…I have to post that right away and that changes all our planning, sheesh!!! You guys are all AMAZING AND AWARDABLE!

Look at all those awards. I must say I’m jealous of that Magic Cat one. I don’t get much time to visit my furrends but I’m glad I came and read about you. Even though I came to live at my furever home when I was 1 year old, I still did not trust humans and was feral. They say I’m getting better but I still bite and claw them.
And what is your name my furriend?? Is it Cathy? I know I have seen you on Twitter! So happy you dropped by to visit my bloggy thingy…I like writing about my recovery process as an adopted adult shelter cat. And yes, the Magic Cat Award is brand new! I was so proud to have it passed to me. I totally understand how hard it is to trust peeps…really, I do. I don’t bite or scratch…I do hiss if I am scared or they are trimming my claws. But, I don’t let them pick me up without a huge fuss and struggle and the I do use just a teeny bit of my claws…sigh…recovery is long and hard work, Huh?!

We’re all adopted stray kitties, so we’re all for anything that reminds beans to “adopt used kitties”.

Adopting used cats is the only way IMHO…and we adult cats need it really badly. Did you know that black cats and dogs have a 40% less chance of being adopted, and especially if they are adult! I know how hard it is to post even 3-5 times a day…but efurryday is a total challenge I think. One day I won’t do it efurryday…but for now I have lots to tell about my recovery process. And that was really thoughtful of your Mom to make sure you piggies got your words posted…paw pats

We also are BLOWN AWAY by the time you put in working on this award post!! WOW!!! Oh and CONCATULATIONS!! We just adore you and you deserve all of the kudos coming your way.
We do have to tell you a secret…Mom and I work super hard but NOPE…we do NOT commit to posting every day! Nope! We don’t! We commit to a minimum of 3 posts per week…there are weeks we DO post every day but Mom discovered that when she did she had less of a life than she has now ! MOL!!
Also…sometimes we feel like we gotta leave ’em wanting MORE!!
Anyway, that’s my two cents worth!

thanks so much for all your advice Cody…I took it to heart…now I learn I could have offended you and of course I admire both your blog and Dakota’s lots! I do have others I follow that do not post every day either. And eventually, after I get more and more through my recovery…we will post 3-4 x a week…Mom is retired and I keep her focused for now…but pretty soon she will wanna travel more and she has to have a little minor outpatient surgery that will keep her from workin’ a keyboard for 3 weeks! sheesh, Paw pats to you and Dakota and a big paw hug for Caren!
