Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

The Food Thief Strikes Again!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

*taking a deep breff*—Where shall I start? I know so many of my readers believe that The Kid Sage’s food thief personality is brought on by Mom L and Dad P. You know, they “ought” to not encourage her or “tolerate” her behavior.

But hey, TKS is such a sweet and innocent cat, right?

I can smell beef!

Ummm—I might have to rethink that given her look, na’mean??

So Dad P had not grilled steak in several weeks. He did last week between the rain storms we have been having around the San Francisco bay area. I, purrsonally, do not partake of beef steak from a human plate. However, TKS, well—that’s another matter.

Hey Mom L—excuse the paw fork reach

And to the dismay of many readers, yes, TKS is allowed on the dining table when there are no other guests. Hence, she takes her liberties.

Mine, all mine!!!

To tell it truthfully, Mom L allowed TKS to take liberties just to get this blog post for me!! As for TKS, she was overjoyed she could indulge in the left overs from Mom L’s plate. In fact she finally drug her “kill” down to the floor to give it proper feline attention.

Chomp, munck, slurp

Before you leave a comment, please remember that Mom L and Dad P do not have fur-less kids, nor fur-less grand-kids.  TKS and I “are” their furr-family. So why not have TKS join for a meal now and then?

PAW PATS, SAVANNAH

PeeEss—stay tuned for a Monday Meowsie News update on Momma Kat and her five kittens and the future home of Momma Kat’s Hope Chest.

  1. Food thieves… MOUSES!

Livin’ with a couple of veggies (take that however you want), very rarely is there anythin’ on their plates worth stealin’. But MY plate is a totally different story and let me tell you, those two marmie brothers of mine are ALWAYS after my food. MOUSES!

  2. At the zoo the cats are up the dogs are down, so the table it is.

TKS Mom agrees “who could resist that face?” I get to have cheese, chicken, fish, egg or just about anything else I ask nicely for too!

I see nothing wrong with letting TKS share dinner with your Mom. I hope you have good news about Momma and her kittens.

  5. TKS is welcome to our dinner table any time!

  6. TKS is fine being a food thief and is quite good at it. Dad has the habit of letting Buddy on the table as he gets his meals there to keep up his weight. Of course that means Buddy snags the Bacon when he has a chance. I saw dad got some of the B Meat on sale and looks like we will all get some this weekend! Yay!

  8. We rarely try to steal human food. Though there was a cat before us that would knock the popcorn right outta the mom’s hand so he could eat it.

  9. Glad you got to enjoy some steak sweet TKS It is just me, Chancy and Mumsy here and I get on the table but Mumsy puts me a few bites off her plate for me when she has something I can eat. I have never gotten on the table when we have guests. Hugs and nose kisses Pooh

  14. We understand well, because a furr kid is our only kid, Kosmo cat, so he is allowed to do many things that makes him happy, to sleep with us, walking over a table to a window to see birds, to sit in sauna with us. Some people say “Ladies first”, some say ” Cats first”.

There are four felines in our family and they all have partake from their humans plate at least occasionally. We are not allowed on the dining table durin family meals but since family meals aren’t a daily practice the table is also an exceptional way to view the world through the windows in that room. So, as long as every member of your family is comfortable with the rules, it’s really nobody else’s business….and MomL did get some great photos of a very happy TKS!

  16. oh how I wish to use my pawfork to get something from the table :o) dig in TKS and enjoy this tasty snack :>o)

  17. Binga and Boodie pretty much live on the dining room table here! And when someone is eating there, I will join them sometimes! My human and her boyfriend have not had company in a long while… I wonder if they did, how that would shake out.

  18. Even within a family there have to be rules. You would not allow your child/grandchild to sit with his naked bottom on the surface you put your plate on …

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
