Returned Again!
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
Well I never! I mean here I go and shout it to the roof tops, or at least to the tops of my internet tower…anyway, I shout it loud and clear that my Paw It Forward kitty Miss Gemma had a Happy Tail Ending. And this was her second adoption.
Remember I told you about her first adopter who allowed one of their dogs to bite her, wait for that bite to get such a horrible abscess Gemma needed a drain and stitches by the time that foolish family returned her to Contra Costa Animal Services.
After she had her stitches out, Gemma was moved to a fab place at Pet Food Express. Remember I showed you how great it was when Koko went there too. The staff loved Gemma and were so excited for her when a couple with a two year old toddling human adopted her. They firmly advised them to set up a safe room just for Gemma where she could get to know every nook and cranny and where they could interact with her OFTEN and calmly and quietly.
Gemma was again returned to Contra Costa Animal Services. Mom L was in tears for precious Gemma!! Long story short, the couple put Gemma in their laundry room where they continued to use those scary noisy machines. Then they let her out at night, and she would of course like any sensible cat hide under a bed. So in all their human wisdom they used the vacuum cleaner to scare her out!!! So they returned her saying she was too shy and needed a more quiet home!! DUH!!!
Pet Food Express welcomed Gemma back with open arms. And guess what? She is such a resilient cat and still trusts humans. Mom L had no problem getting to give Gemma tummy rubs the first time she visited her at Pet Food Express. Gemma has another adult and some kittens to keep her company so Mom L only goes to visit every couple of days. Please wish Gemma better good fortune her third time around. Don’t you just wanna give her a great big squeeze she is so cute!
Gemma is the biggest purr bug! Look at her snugglin’ next to Mom L’s leg.
And Gemma is an equal opportunity cat, so she had no trouble sharing some rubs with Dad P too.
I’d sure be purring up a storm if my readers will share this post to help Gemma find her purrfect family. She deserves a kind, sensitive human family with patience…not to mention brains enough to know how to follow instructions from the adoption counselors!!! If you have any advice I can pass along to Gemma, let me know in comments.
I’d take her, if I were in San Francisco. Were these people not told that cats are wary in new places?
Some humans are just plain stupid! Poor Gemma! We are purring that the third time is the charm!
OMC, laundry machines and then a vacuum?!? Poor Gemma! I can’t believe some people. Ugh!
Poor Gemma! It is very sad she had two ignorant families who should never keep pets. She is such a sweet and forgiving girl and will hopefully soon get her perfect home.
Wow, what a story. And what a wonderful cat. She isn’t holding grudges or giving up on people. Someone should write a “Black Beauty” type cat book about her saga. I sure hope there’s a very happily ever after coming soon.
Maggie
Gemma looks like our Yinny, what a beautiful girl she is. We are pawing she finds the purrfect family soon.
I was heartbroken reading that. Innocent Gemma, mistreated and abused and still a precious loving girl. I would truly take her in an instant if I could.
Savvy, have you noticed that Gemma looks a lot like you on the Savannah’s progress picture on your bloggie?
Will send lots of Good Luck Pawkisses on her way to find a furrever home that she deserves. This story made us teared up, Savvy. People can be really stoopid and she deserves much better than that! What?! only the best is good enough for all us kitties! Pawkisses for a wonderful day to all of you 🙂 ❤
Sounds like a happy ending for sure.

Pee S: If wee lived closer wee wood come visit Gemma….
Such disgusting humans. I just shared on Facebook.
Thanks lots Brian and Mr. Terry. They all were so foolish to never follow the counseling from both adoption venues. Stoopid for sure
Poor Gemma! I can’t believe how ignorant people can be when it comes to cats – and they want to adopt one? Ugh! I really, REALLY hope three’s the charm for this pretty girl.
Humans are so stupid and cruel. I hope the third time is a charm for Gemma.
gemma….we will ask st francis ta help out big time thiz time N we hope yur in a good foreverz home bye de end oh de month ~~~~~♥♥♥♥♥ we R sorree stuffz been crazed for ya ~~~~~ ♥♥♥♥♥
WOW – Third time’s the charm,we hope, Sweet Gemma ! You are obviously a sweet, forgiving kitty ! Some kitties would have come out from UTB and gone for the fat head of the person running the vacuum ! Purrs.
Poor Gemma to be put through all of this. We purr that she finds the home she so deserves.
That is so sad. This is why I dislike most people, because of how they treat their pets. A pet is forever, whatever comes up, you need to find a solution, not return the pet. I pray she gets her true forever home this time. XO
Gemma dear, I’m purrin’ and purrin’ AND PURRIN’ things work out better for you next time. But look at you! Still lettin’ peeps give you tummy rubs and stuff. My gosh, Mason NEVER allows the rubbin’ of her tummy by even her own personal peeps. She’s a bunny-kicker, you see. PURRS.
Oh, hope she finds the best forever home soon!
Poor Little Gemma. She’s really had bad luck with adopters. We home that a sweet, cat knowledgable human comes forward soon. Gemma deserves a loving home.
We are so sorry that Gemma has been returned. What total idiots those adopters were! We are crossing all our paws that she will find the perfect home very soon.
Purrs,
The Chans
Me two…..your such a sweetheart….x😻🐾🐾
Hope Gemma has better luck next time!
Oooh WTF? Was it with family number one? An abscess??? Foolish people!!!!! Poor Gemma THIRD time will be the charm or I will personally come over and picket the place until you are adopted!!!
I hope Gemma has better luck next time!
I just CANT believe the stupidity of the humans at times! OK, that rant over, we are SOO pleased Gemma is still a happy sociable lady, and ready to share the love with a sensible home once more. Heres to Gemma and that FOREVER home….
Toodle pips and happy adoption purrs
