Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Your Purrs and POTP paid off!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I am joining my buddies Brian, Seal and Simon, Brian’s Home, for their weekly Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. And I have a ton to be thankful for!! You know Mom took over my blog on Monday to tell you about what’s been happening in my castle and with me.

Well, I did have to go the my doc so’s he could do that ultrasound thingy. That was to check for lymphoma (my irritable bowel disease can progress into that) and last Friday he snatched some of my bloods so’s he could do a test about my kidney disease progress.

GOOD NEWS!!!

My ultrasound showed NO LYMPHOMA at this time and no suspicious masses and whatnot!! AND—my blood results show that my kidneys are back in the normal range!!! Even though I take prednisolone for my IBD, which is not good for my CKD, that med has NOT pushed my CKD to become worse!!! WOO HOO!!!

Now I do have some bile sludge stuff in my gall bladder which probably is upsetting my tummy and making my appetite not so good. So’s the doc is putting me on some oral med, chik-hen flavored of course, to help me feel better. I get my fluids twice a week from Mom L and Dad P, and my appetite stimulant about every three to four days to keep me eating. We are gonna try me on some salmon oil for my furs but I’m thinkin’ I am not gonna like that stuff. Kind’a like I don’t like that cerenia pill bein’ put in my food. I can smell that thing six inches away from my food bowl and I won’t eat until they remove it. I’ll just have to feel a bit nauseated. Oh well…

So you know that I am thankful beyond any words. And Mom L and Dad P are over the moon happy with my test results. I am still not outta the woods ‘cuz I am, as you know, a senior gal. But I have your POTP and the best vet and greatest love and care from Mom and Dad, Katie and TKS.

Thank you all for being here for me. Click on the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop badge below and transport yourself over to some other really fine blogs!!

I am so happy that you got good news. I crush cerenia and mix it with a little juice from their food and syringe it in.

  11. That’s great news, Savannah! Y’know…cerenia tastes terrible so I can understand why you don’t like it in your food. Tell your humans to ask your vet for ondansetron (Zofran), an anti nausea med that works really well. That’s what I get. ~Ernie
