A Former Shelter Cat Learning to Trust

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Most of you who have known me since I started my blog in 2012, know that I was afraid of people and other cats even at five years old. I won’t ever know what happened to me before being dropped in the night drop box at the county kill shelter. All I know is that I feared humans and other cats. Fortunately, I was pulled at the last minute by someone who fostered me and then I was admitted to a no kill rescue.

Dad P noticed me right away when he and Mom L started volunteering in December 2011 at Contra Costa Humane Society’s Kitty Corner. And I have been with them since then. My recovery progress from former trauma has been slow but steady. And I am proud to share a little bit of another step forward.

We have just moved to a different home, but I have settled in really easily. Unlike the last time we had to move. Progress.

I always share the couch with Mom L at night and I usually lie at one end and she sits on the other. Just a couple of nights ago I changed around…and moved close enough to her, and facing her, to encourage her to give my head and face a little massage.

ahhh...that's perfect Mom L

ahhh…that’s perfect Mom L

Next thing I knew…I had completely relaxed my whole head and fell asleep with her holding my head.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Of course Mom L saw a ‘photo opportunity’…and when she removed her hand from my head…I never even moved…

Mom L just could not help herself. The next day was gonna be my time to join Sunday Selfies Blog Hop over at my pals from The Cat On My Head. And, I had not yet taken my ‘selfie’ for the blog post. Normally, what Mom L did next would have driven me immediately from the couch out of fear of being hurt or scared…but instead I hung in and let her take several ‘selfie’ photos of me with our iPhone.

It's OK Mom L, click away...I trust you

And that is my small but important recovery progress I want to share with you, my caring readers. I just went back to sleep.

Trust…a wonderful feeling.

Ms Savvydo’s 5 Minute Work Out

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

As most of you know, I have not been having my regular crazypants work out with Mom L for a couple of months. My very extraordinary Feline Specialist Vet and Mom L and Dad P and all have agreed…I have the early onset symptoms of IBD. So we are trying to learn how to manage that while Mom L and Dad P are gone for a kabillion years in a few days.

They would not go if there wasn’t considerable loss of funds to a family member who gifted this to them. That being said…you will not be seeing me in your comments. I am sad, but such is the stuff of life, right? We read to try to keep up but even that is hard as we prepare to move so unexpectedly.

The real deal…here it is…I will not be posting from June 24 through the end of the universe.

GOTCHA!!! MOL!!

Seriously, once the Mom L and Dad P are back, we must be moved withing 10 days. Right now there are so many boxes, and people coming in and out…TKS and I do not want to pose for any photo shoots for my blog.

Hope you will all be here when I can come back. I asked Mom L to take some photos of my short and shorter work out sessions…(be sure to hover over each photo to be able to view the captions…)

Of course my curiosity got the best of me…

And that my pals is my 5 minute work out these days. I did do a couple of laps chasing the red dot after that…but that was the best I can do. I have not lost any weight, I am still eagerly eating my prescription Royal Canin S/O kibble. Too bad they don’t want ME for a spokescat…right?

TKS is doing great; loves all the commotion and boxes. We will be around for  week or so, then stay tuned until we return.

How Ticklish Are You?

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I like to invite Mom L to play with me sometimes. She can make me giggle like a kitten. I wonder if any of you ever have one of those play sessions where you can hardly breathe because you are laughing so hard?

Just hanging out; wanna play with me Mom?

Just hanging out; wanna play with me Mom?

Aiiieeee!!! Stop it Mom…stop it…I am gasping to breathe…you are tickling my armpits!!

*giggle giggle* Stop it Mom! You're killin' me

*giggle giggle* Stop it Mom! You’re killin’ me

Sometimes I have to take charge and try to kill the fevver before Mom L makes it tickle my tummy again.

Take that you ticklish fevver

Take that you ticklish fevver

Mom L can make my peacock fevver do crazy things.

My Mom cracks me up when we play fevver!

My Mom cracks me up when we play fevver!

Do you ever get the giggles when you play?
