HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!

I am dancing a happy dance, meowing a happy song and purring like crazy because of the POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA that helps me give a voice to the cats and woofies who come to me asking for help finding their forever home or  a responsible foster home.  I am leaping around because I know Social Media enable me to help those who need assistance raising some funds to cover the cost of medical care for a particular need.

Truly, you have to luvluvluv rescue...

Truly, you have to luvluvluv rescue…

I learned the THREE TRUTHS about companion animal rescue…

Sharing saves lives…

I cannot save all…not alone…not even with all my anipals’ help…

I can “Paw It Forward”…SHARE, Re-TWEET, RE-POST…together we can MAKE A DIFFERENCE…

Rescue Rocks

Sharing, Caring…Saves Live

(you can search my archives using each animal’s name to read about their rescue story)

Let me  introduce my newest woofie rescue pal…

CASH

Oh, Hi!!!

Oh, Hi!!!

Cash insisted on sharing his story with you all by himself…please pull up a cushion, relax, grab a bone to chew or a nip mouse to nibble…

“Hi, my name is Cash, you know, after that famous singer Johnnie Cash…

…when my fur coat comes back I will not only be dressed in black, but will have enough white to show off my dark black coat.  Oh, and did you notice?  I have freckles on my snooter!

Freckles!

Freckles!

My Vet Doc thinks I am a Siberian Husky, but I don’t have any papers. I was found in August, 2014… attached by a short rusted chain to a post, in the North Carolina heat  with no shelter or shade.  The neighbors told my rescuer I often had no food or water either.

But, I have heart!

I am only about a year old, and even though my coat was so matted, sunburned and flea infested I had to be shaved…

photo 2 edit

…I still have a great heart and just adore all humans and other dogs as well.

I have been neutered, tested for heart worm (negative) and now treated for heart worm and fleas…all up to date on my vaccinations and ready to go…except I have no where to go.

My rescuer is from Los Angeles, CA… and he will be flying me back there in early September.

But here’s the problem…I can’t  stay with him because he has 3 other rescue dogs he must find homes for…as he has just rescued them from living death on the street of Puerto Rico where he was working on a job.

So I am hoping one of you out there might let me come hang out with you for a month or so.  My rescuer said he will take care of any vet care and food etc. if you can provide me a safe, loving foster home with a fully fenced yard from which I cannot escape.

We huskies are known as the “ultimate canine escape artists”.  Of course, if any of you want to give me my permanent home, that would be even better.  My rescuer has help with reviewing adoption applications to ensure my foster, or permanent, home will be safe, loving and with a fully fenced yard.

If you would like to know more about me or meet me, please contact my rescuer by email: BrettD@relativitymedia.com

You may also download a lovely rescue flyer Savannah made just for me at this link:

I really appreciate any help you can give me. If you personally cannot foster or adopt me, would you mind copying this flyer and posting it at vet offices, no kill dog rescues or anywhere else you think of.

If you would share my search for my foster home OR EVEN BETTER…for my permanent home on Face Book, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest…anywhere you are willing, I will send you my softest ‘woos’ of gratitude. We Sibes don’t often bark, we speak in ‘woo’s and arwwwooo’s”.  Play bows, Cash

Savannah here…I hope you all believe in the Power of Social Media to Save Lives as much as I do and will SHARE, RE-TWEET, PIN…to help Cash find at least a short term foster home…even better…his permanent home.

Hepatic Lipidosis?…Will You Help Save This Cat?

Thursday Purrsday…

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Ahem…koff, koff…aaaahhhheeemmm…*clears throat*…

Savvy Girl

This is not my normal, nor my continuing focus for my Thursday Purrsday blog post…but…somehow…someway…the feline condition known as “Fatty Livery Disease”…which is actually “Hepatic Lipidosis“…well…adult rescue shelter cats with this presenting disease just seem to be continually showing up in my life.

….this sweet ladycat came to my attention a couple of weeks ago…and I can no longer hold back asking all my furriends, followers, acquaintances…including my feline, woofie and bunny and piggie…pals….to take a moment to consider if you might be able to help an incredible animal rescue and sanctuary begin to cover the medical costs for precious LIGHTNING….

edit 04

The beginning of Lightning’s story…as reported by Bright Haven Rescue and Sanctuary under whose care she thankfully had fallen…

“When she was adopted on June 18th,(at Martinez, CA Public Kill Shelter)…Lightning was a healthy 12 pounds. She was returned on August 1st weighing 7 pounds, just bones under her fur, and jaundiced. The cat had been allowed to starve. She developed fatty liver disease, also known as hepatic lipidosis. She would need a feeding tube to survive. Could we help her?”

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Lightning was in the final stages of Hepatic Lipidosis…just like my Cuzin Leo…(click here if you missed his story)…you can see that Lightning shows the same yellow jaundice all over her head as Cuzin Leo.  I am pleased to tell you all that Cuzin Leo survived…as will precious Lightning…

...NOW COMES THE “BUT”...Lightning’s vet care costs continue to soar…even though she is currently in the loving and caring hands of a wonderful Bright Haven volunteer.

Bright Haven has set up a “You Caring: Pet Caring” crowd funding site…they are about half way to reaching the basic care cost to help Lightning through this unreal ordeal.  If you or your friends, family, colleagues…acquaintances…strangers you meet on the street…can give even ONE USD…please consider donating to Lightning’s recovery costs.

She will survive…and she WILL have a perfect forever home.  Bright Haven will make sure of that.  Thankfully, she was brought under their care.

I appreciate you all so much for even reading this very long post…and if you do not have any green papers to Paw It Forward…PLEASE…PAW IT FORWARD JUST BY SHARING…

SHARING SAVES LIVES…even if we are continents away…the universe can bring positive energy where it is needed…that is my belief…and I, Savannah, am going to stick to it!

What Does Tigger Dream? Sunday Easy for Tigger

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!

This is a special post because I do not often  post on Sunday…as this an “EASY” day…but I just have to share with all of you Tigger’s dream of how Sunday Easy looks to him…

Tigger promo 02

I will be honored if you are willing to add this badge to your side bar…

paw it forward badge side bar

…telling the world that you are joining me on my Paw It Forward Project: FIND TIGGER’S FOREVER CASTLE

Anyone interested in adopting Tigger can contact Contra Costa Humane Society…click HERE…to view Tigger’s information on their website and to view the contact information.

I know that Tigger is NOT at risk of being killed.  He is under the umbrella of a ‘No Kill Rescue”.  However, given that Tigger has never had de-sensitization to living with another cat…he has been bouncing around between foster homes.

Thankfully he is now back with Miss Tammy who understands him, but she is also not able to have him as a long term foster. Unfortunately, Miss Tammy has her woofie Miss Jenny who is battling cancer and Miss Tammy needs to be able to focus her energy on helping sweet Jenny through her chemo therapy.

My only request is that my readers do not stop sharing Tigger anywhere you can.

You are simply the very best paw furriendly community ever.

Paw hugs, Savannah
