Oh My Cod!!! My own Dad and Mom…in my furrever home!!
They did IT AGAIN!!! This very morning!!! After a wonderful night of nom noms…
…and then some play time…
…and then I let Mom pet my TUMMY!…yes, I did…you can see the photo…
…I was being lulled into a false sense of safety…I slept like a kitty…close with Dad…then spent time in bed with Mom this morning…got a morning brush…
…then… WHAMMO!!!
DAD DOES THE OLE SNATCH AND SCRUFF…MMEEEOOWWWWW…
Mom does the unspeakble…NAIL TRIMMING DAY…NO ONE WARNED ME!!! And my nails were really getting nice…long, sharp…purrfect…
…so here’s the ‘look’ Mom…harummmppphhhffff…
Ya know what this means…do not touch me again today…I am pouting…
Hope efurryone else is having a better day than me…

Oh my goodness! How shocking!!! Do you know what? I’ve never had my claws trimmed. No… not ever. I think it’s ’cause I spend lots of time outdoors playing and whatnot and my claws tend to stay on the shorter side. I guess I’m pretty lucky, huh? purrs

ohhh..I am an only cat and live totally indoors…so I don’t have to get the flea stuff..but I know from before it sometimes kinda stings? You have my sympathy and sending paw strokes right now!

Nibbles was having his piggy pedicure yesterday. Mummy gave him celery and everything but he was so naughty that they gave up and now he will have to go to the v-e-t to get them done.
I’m not supposed to let him find out though so it will have to be our little secret!

shhhhh…I won’t tell…that’s why Mom and Dad decided to suck it up and grab me…going to the VET is way worse…not only do ya have to be shoved into a carrier, then strangers touching you…the car ride…ick….sorry for Nibbles…sending him paw pats right now!

Wow, that’s terrible… Puffy and Fluffy do not have nails in the front (peeps removed them before meeting Mom), so we’re unfamiliar with that ritual. JJ and I use the street as the biggest nail file, so, we do not deal with that either…

Now, I, Jet the ambassador would like to provide the peeps POV (point of view). They can’t have you getting your beautiful nails caught on something in the house and causing you discomfort… or frustration on their side for ruining that furniture stuff. So… just like when the peeps take the young peeps to the doctor… better not to tell until they can’t scoot!
oh I know I need them trimmed…I just hate it…and I NEVER EVER have touched our furniture…I always use my scratch post…I am a gentle cat really

Wait!!! Yous means me is not supposed to sits there and lets Mommy steal my nails!?!? Hissy Old Licorice always used to tells me it was OK! That me would get extra special treats!!!
And me does! When my nails gets trimmed me gets bacon, or jerky or even fried liver – all very special treats. Even when it is happening. So me don’ts mind. Me even sits pretty still. Me don’t likes getting the back ones trimmed and me will always leave scratches.

NellieNellie…NONONONO…you don’t have to let them steal your nails! They need your permission…OR…bargain for better treats…I don’t like treats much so my staff have nothing to bargain with…so they just have to cathandle me into submission… I don’t yowl, or hisss, or even try to scratch…I just struggle ‘cuz I don’t like being held and I don’t like my toes touched…way too personal for me!!

Hi, Savannah. Ha ha ha. It’s one of the great peep secrets — we FEEL BAD FOR YOU when you get your nails caught in the carpet! But we don’t like to make a big deal out of it, so we just clip them. That’s one thing we peeps have to learn if we want to be a grown-up peep. Sometimes you have to JUST DO IT!

Hey, we have enormous respect for your peeps. We can just about manage doing the dog claw thing (no thanks from them either) but trying cat claw trimming is beyond us! As you (quietly) admit, not getting those tallons caught as you practice your Mama Cat Flying Squirrel moves, must be a whole lot better than losing your cool with a snagged nail 😉
yup…my Mom is expert…she even trims the cats at the shelter ‘cuz they get realllly long claws and no one trims them ‘cuz they ‘don’t want to stress the cat by scruffing, etc.’..Mom and Dad say “baloney”…worse if the cat catches its claw and tears it out! So Dad scruffs and Mom clips…she thinkgs dogs were harder ‘cuz the Sibes always jerked their foot back as Mom was about to snip…
at least you had yours done at home!!! Mom took me to the V-E-T yesterday and they not only trimmed my nails, they gave me a SHOT in the BUTT because of my allergies! OUCH!!!
ouch ouch ouch! I hate shots in the butt…but better that than a stick up your butt, now THAT is totally an unspeakble act by a peep on a cat! Hope your sneezes are gone today…and don’t cha think shorter nail are actually better…hate to admit it myself
Been there/done that and I still don’t like the nail trim thing after twelve years!!! Dad holds me and Mom clips and if she’s really quick about it I don’t squirm too much……AND remember, I have an extra claw on each of my front paws so it takes LONGER!!!!! Might as well just grin and bear it Savannah…it’s just one of those indignities we must suffer in exchange for a nice, cushy, forever home…… 😀
