Movie Delay…But Check This Out

Ok, I have to admit it…I did not wanna do my Precious Prancing Pony move this week…and Mom couldn’t get me to do it AND take the video and Dad was bbbiiiizzzzzyy…so…give me time…and the PPPMovie will happen…so that’s the Movie delay covered.

Now…I have some pretty great news…at least we all think it is ‘news’ and ‘great’.  First, I am still finding new places to nap…and last night it was cold so Dad put a couple of afghans on our bed…one for him, one for Mom and BOTH for ME! Natch!

Anyways, so he folded them up on the end of the bed this morning and left to do some stuff…and Mom found me…

…yup…I was sitting on the folded afghans startin’ to think about how nice it would be to take a nap here…but I was still in my meatloaf position thinkin’ about it…so Mom left, then came back about a half hour later….WOO HOO!!…score another photo op!!!…

…I was like totally sound asleep…she could have snapped away and I would NEVER have known…

Now for the even better part…see that chair in the background…behind that chair is my safe spot and my scratch post is back there too…

Well…remember when I first came to our house, I used to sleep in that chair…here is a photo to remind you…

Ok…so…this afternoon…Mom sits in that chair to use our iPad…we are still sharing one ‘cuz she hasn’t had time to go get her new one so I can have the old one…

Anyways, so I hop off the afghans…stroll over to Mom sitting in the chair…and I put my paws up on the chair cushion…not sure what I was thinkin’…but all of a sudden…Mom’s lap looked really good to me!!!

So I hung around the chair, she encouraged me…I did my rollity roll roll all around the chair on the floor…being cute…begging for pets…she kept calling me and patting her lap..then she got an afghan and put it in her lap…

WOW! that looked even better…so then I went over 2 more times, put my paws up on the chair cushion to check out that enticing lap….

And that was it for today!  But CAN YOU BELIEVE!!!???  I WAS STOKED ABOUT HER LAP!!!  Will wonders never cease in my recovery process.

Oh yeah, and then I followed her out to the kitchen, stopping to make a sprint through my Three Tunnel Toy…and when she gave me some kibble…I dashed over to my feeding station with her and started to gobble up my snack!!!  Just like a comfy homebody cat…whew….what an afternoon…

  1. Hooray! This is so wonderful, Savannah! What a big step! I’m so, so happy for you AND for your mom! 🙂

    • oh thank you so much! and I have done a couple of other things just yesterday too…last night I strolled over to the family room couch, hopped up next to Mom on an afghan for a few minutes…haven’t done that in 3 months! Got back down, but maybe tonight??? And I am in my office bed with Mom working, haven’t done that in 3 or more months too!! woo hoo

  2. LOL @ “meatloaf position”. We call our cat “muffincat” when he does that, but I think meatloaf is much better! 🙂 Also, well done!

  3. Hey Savvy, Jetty here.

You rock, have you watched the movie BRAVE??? You are really taking great strides…

  4. Concatulations Savannah! That’s great…..and I most certainly can attest to the wonderful cuddliness of an afghan-nap-on-a-lap! You’re obviously giving it some thought and a hop up is just a step away. You’re doing SO WELL learning about trust. I’m proud of you!

Once you get a taste for it, you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about 🙂 I didn’t use to like laps, now when I see a lap going beggin, I’m there! Well done and I bet your Mum was pleased 🙂 Have a great weekend and enjoy some LAPNAPPIN girl!

  6. Wow Savannah! That’s good to hear. They won’t let me sit on their laps – they say I’m too big and heavy! Sometimes I stand and put my head down onto a lap.

  7. Hey Savannah – wonder how many days away that lap cat is? 🙂

  8. Score! You got the afghans. I ain’t never sat in my peeps’ laps. Can you believe it? I’ll sit NEXT to Pop on the couch, but not in his lap.

  9. Those laps are like the BEST thing ever invented! AND, sometimes you can impede your peep from doing what they want to do (read, whatever) by pestering them, making pincushions, and presenting your bottom for inspection.
    Good times.

  10. you are going to be so happy and comfortable in that lap before you know it, and then you will wonder why you were ever nervous about it.

  11. Cuddles of Mummy’s laps are great. Whee are so pleased to hear how brave you were and that you have now discovered the joys of lap-snuggles! 🙂

Good job sweet Savannah you did have a great afternoon. You sure look sweet rolled up sleeping on the afghans. Hugs and nose kisses

  13. yay – good for you. That is so very cool. I bet by this time next week you will jump up on the lap – maybe not relax and sleep, but I bet you jump up there.,

  14. That is so wonderful Savannah!!! Such amazing progress and we’re all here cheering you on!

  15. PeeEss, can’t wait to see your Prancing Pony!

  16. Savannah, when is your mom going to figure out it’s the crochet! She’s getting close, but you really have to get the point across! In this house, I am the official crochet tester because I got so bold I just stepped right onto whatever she was making, and now I have to have a crochet thing somewhere every day to sleep on. • oh Kelly…Mom knows about afghans and how I like them, she never thought to put it on her lap ‘cuz I have never shown one bit of interest in a lap before. oh yeah, and mine are knitted…but doesn’t matter…they are still soft and warm…mmmmmm…nice
