Morning Stare Down…Who Won?
Hello All…Mom Linda Here
I took over the blog post today because neither of the girls can do justice to describing the scene I happened upon yesterday morning. I was headed out of my bedroom to go downstairs to collect my ice pack, heat pack etc. As I stepped out of my door to the upstairs landing this was the scene I encountered.
In a flash I grabbed my iPad to try to get a decent photo to share with all of you. Sage can peer through the window on the landing into the guest bedroom across the landing. Of course, it works both ways…Nana can peer back at Sage.
This was a classic cat stare down with Sage looking just like a bird dog on point having seen a bird (which is what I first thought she was watching on the roof outside…HA!). Then I looked across to see Nana in her meatloaf pose literally giving Sage her best Nana Stink Eye…she was glaring out of the corner of her eyes, they were sort of just slit open enough to allow a really good stink eye.
I realized this photo is over adjusted and blurry. Here’s hoping none of Nana’s readers who are expert photographers see this (embarrassed ears on Mom Linda) but I wanted to share that infamous ‘Nana Stink Eye’. But wait! Is that for TKS or ME!!!????
Once I took a photo, I had a silent chuckle all the way downstairs!
Who do you think blinked first?
Long-distance stare down. New art form! EXCELLENT.
Purrs,
Nissy
We thinks Sage blinked first. ~Scylla & Family

Hay guy’z and Mizz Savvy Doll, thank you so much for our wolf card, it arrived the other day. Hope Mom is doing well. Lub’z and Mizzed you xxoxxxx
oh so happy it finally arrived. Sorry it took so long.
That sure is one very serious stink eye!!!
awwww…thanks for the compliment Brian. Hope you are doing better buddy
Thankfully I have Dan to help me with the beautiful photos on my blog… All the blurry ones, thank you very much, the credit goes to me!
we are pretty much on our own here. Just me and Mom. Dad’s hand kind of has this shake so he can’t hold the camera still enough
We can all take lessons from Savvy in the stink eye technique!! She is premier league!
heh…heh…glad to have the recognition AUstin
Simultaneous stinkers!!!
wait…that might not sound right…
bwaahahaha! only from the Lounge Gang
Oh those girls of yours 🙂
we are some pair, huh Marty?
Yep! A wonderful pair 🙂
Hmmmm, I’ll guess Nanook. I don’t get how TKS can look out the window and see in the bedroom but we city folk.
The guest room sticks out over the garage so where TKS is, on a large landing at the top of the stairs, she can look into the guest room’s windows. I can be in the guest room and look just about 10 ft away across the roof into the windows on the landing. Hope that helps, The girls take advantage of this as did Nana when we had Cuzin Leo living in the guest room
That is too funny, and a great stink eye.
Hey Flynn, thanks lots for coming by. I am sorry I have not been round to visit you recently. will get over this week promise
Oooh, that long-distance stare down stuff is intense! How are you feeling, Mom Linda?
The girls do it so well and so often! I am good thank you. Just wish I was back to my speedy self LOL
Oh Mom L…we know you blinked first! That Savannah Stink Eye is a classic!
Embarrassing, but true
Funny ! We bet TKS blinked first, and got a stinky eye from Savvy back ! Purrs
Actually, first it was Mom grabbing the iPad then Nana. TKS kept that bird dog point!
S & S…we say yur mom blinked furst, followed close lee bee hind bye yur dad !!! 🙂
heerz two a big-scale pomfret kinda week oh end ♥
You beat me to it.
Why yes I did
Heh…heh…you guys are so smart…must be all that fish oil you eat
That is funny 🙂 I bet it was a tie.
Nope! first Mom L then Nana…TKS just kept that bird dog point going
nope, Nana looked at me taking the photo LOL
Now that is just cool that the girls can have a staring contest through the window. We think sweet Sage would have blinked before sweet Savannah gave in and blinked. Wow, she really was giving the stink eye, but it looks like she was looking at you in the last picture. 🙂 Hope you are healing well and will soon be moving about with ease and comfort sweet Linda. Hugs and nose kisses
Oh Maggie. The girls do these stand offs almost every day in one form or another, but this one was truly original. And I am slowly getting better, no thanks to an over zealous PT He applied traction on my knee barely 4 wks past surgery and caused capillaries to break and bleed internally. He put me back about a month. I was really doing well, better than the last knee 4 years ago
Oh, no sweet Linda! ! I am so sorry to hear about the set back with the healing of your knee. I am glad you have the girls to keep you entertained while you recover. Big hugs for you and nose kisses for the sweet girls
Thank you Maggie. And I know you have your own challenges at home and am happy you have Chancy, Pooh and Baby Boy to keep you company
Me too those sweeties are a big comfort to me for sure. Hugs
the girls have those stare downs lots Maggie. And I am doing OK. My physical therapist, whom I have not used before, applied a treatment 3 weeks ago which has set me back a month in recovery. He applied traction on my barely 3 week past surgery leg, have no idea why, and he caused internal bleeding of the newlly healing capellaries . I am not happy and he won’t be working me anymore.
That is one killer stink eye|!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
somehow I think this is something cats do a bit better than just about any dog LOL
Great catch, Mom. Hope you are mending well!
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
aren’t they a crack up? Sorry I have not been by to comment, will be over to visit this week. Hope all your fur family are doing ok.
This is too funny!!!
I thought so too Carol
First of all we hope your knee is feeling lots better Mom Linda….secondly we think it’s pretty cool that the girls have spy spots so they can keep an eye on each other (and pretend they’re not!). I think the stare down was a TIE!
Hugs, Sammy
they do enjoy watching each other when they think the other one doesn’t know. I am doing ok but not as great as I was 3 weeks ago. Hopefully this week will bring more answers for how I can get back on track after the PT caused internal bleeding around my new knee
Hehehe Pawsome, wish I had been a fly on the wall with this one,xx Speedy
you would have enjoyed it Speedy
That is so cute. No need to apologize for the photo. It is really okay. Some times you just have to grab the camera and go with whatever you can get when you can get it.
I am doing that a lot since my knee replacement. Hard to get down on their level still
I saw you blinking TKS…. or was it just a sunray? must laugh as I saw the russian blue Princess, she can make the same face like me…. we should have a contest once, Savvy :o)
Easy, Nana blinked first because she looked at me! HA!
Sneaky staring, Sage. But my guess is – you blinked!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Cupcake, it was Mom! And we would like to ask your Mom, Miss Genevieve, how long after her knee replacement before she did sort of limp along. Mom Linda’a last replacement was 4 years ago so she has forgotten…
Wow, awesome stare down!
I bet you and Binga do that sometimes…and I bet you win too!
We think it was Sage, can she ever sit still?!?!?!?!?!?
TKS never moved! She can stare like crazy!
MOL, dat are one good stink eye.
I am still finding your comments in my spam files. I will try to learn why. I am sorry
We think the original stink-eye was for TKS and the second for you. That’s an amazing catch photo-wise. Hope you are getting up and around without too much pain or trouble. Sending healing purrs and hugs. XOCK, Mom Janet, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
These two provide ample opportunity for stare downs
Hahaahha I think maybe you! that could have gone on forever…the old stare down..hahaha I think the pic is great.someitmes you just do not have time to do anything but snap away 🙂 loves Bev xx
Sage can so so focused, and then if either Peter or I touch her, she literally jumps straight up at least 30 inches. We don’t mean to scare her, but she is so focused on whatever. I can’t help laughing
Hahaah indeed a focused kitty can leap higher than superman! Pickles is our little focus master…and jump!! well I agree as much as you do not want to startle them it is pretty funny 🙂 xx
