Does Feline Family Resemble Human Family?

HIYA!  SAVANNAH HERE!!

Now my lead question is a very serious one. I hope to hear from all my pals in comments if ANY of this following scenario every happens in your feline homes with two or more cats. Come on guys, fess up! Be honest in your comments. And tell me if your humans ever find bits of fur after such encounters.

*sigh* so very, very close

*sigh* so very, very close

The unexpected happens…

I can smell HRH Savvy—my fur family

I can smell HRH Savvy—my fur family

And then the inevitable—

Her tail keeps moving—I can't help myself

Her tail keeps moving—I can’t help myself

Who would have ever thought there would be the *hissssssssssssssss* of irritation and the look of violation??!!

SHE TOUCHED MY TAIL!! Mooooommm!! I'm telling!!

SHE TOUCHED MY TAIL!! Mooooommm!! I’m telling!!

And after TKS gets the time out—(meaning Dad P scoops her up and takes her away to the top of our bedroom tower)

I have a lotta work to do with TKS

I have a lotta work to do with TKS

I must ask, please tell me—does this ever happen in your home?

PAW PATS, SAVANNAH

  1. Sometimes you’ve just GOT to reach out and touch someone. You know?

    Purrs,
    Seville

  2. Yep…just last night Giulietta was after Misty May’s tail while she ate. It was pretty cute. No hissing occurred! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    **nose kissesss** Dharth Henry xXxXx

  4. As I am an only Princess, my issue is finding the space on or beside peep. No sofa means no comfy spot. Mind you I do have the WHOLE wool duvet.

Happens all the time, some kitties don’t understand personal space.

  6. Savvy, we can’t believe TKS dared to do that to you! Stuff like that happens here too. Ernie likes to sniff me when I’m sleeping which is really annoying. ~Wally

  7. Can’t say it does. Oh yeah, sometimes a human will annoy me and I’ll bite but never another cat.

  8. It would happen if Ashton didn’t vacate whatever piece of furniture she was on whenever Newton came onto the scene. That kid Sage really needs to work on her boundaries!

Wow. All the time. Peaches, who has many issues (when I got her she had just spent 3 days up a tree in January of 2013 -) is VERY touchy. Oscar and Sally Cookie just enjoy screaming at each other. Never a dull moment.

Sweet Savvy it happens in my home but with Chancy and Pooh. Pooh hides and bops Chancy when he passes by her. He gets her back though when he gets the chance, He puts his paw on her back and holds her down. I have to give them both a time out now and then. They both want to be boss. Hugs and nose kisses

Sibling rivalry is ripe here. Oh Dear!

  15. Hmm I don’t have this problem as there is only me but when Mum had her first Bunny she also had a dog and 2 cats. But Caramel the bunny always wanted to be besties with Smokey Mums black cat like with the dog and the other cat and Smokey was very standoffish with caramel,so for a while if caramel got to close to Smokey they would have a scrap but eventually they learnt to get along,xx Speedy

  16. Hehe, oh yes, this certainly happens in our household.

  17. Oh I’ve heard from a man who works with tigers that the tap-tap tappity is a sign… you better should read the tail of the russian blue Princess TKS :o)

  18. As an only cat I have Mom (and Dad) all to myself so no worries in that department…….I think TKS is just trying to get closer to you in her own irritating way (haha).

    Hugs, Sammy

  19. Well, that never happens here only because our dynamics are different! But trust me there are occasional smacky paws and annoyances.

  20. Are you kidding with THREE kittens ALL THE TIME. Chimera is in time out because she wouldn’t leave Daddy alone. Which means dumped in the kitchen with the baby gate up.

  21. Oh, Savvy, forgive her. The tail is to tempting not to touch… 😀
I am only ki..t, but when I don’t want Granny or Grandpaw come near me…make that Grandpaw all the time 😉 … I put him in time out too 😀 Pawkiss for a Peaceful Day 🙂 ❤

  22. I’m an only pet. Sometimes, Mom says I’m too close. She tries to move away an inch or two. I don’t mind. I just move an inch or two closer! You did right Savvy. You are HRH, after all.

    Love and licks,

I have two cats and depending on who feels sleepy (Hannah) will go to the top of our climbing frame and sit up there nearly all day. Lucy on the other paw likes to pounce on her sometimes and then I have to intervene if it’s getting into a round of smacky paws but of course 5 minutes later I can find they are snuggling up together!

  24. My two sleep next to each other on either side of my legs. Sometimes she gets up and sniffs at his tail – he just twitches ears, flips tail once – and goes on sleeping. They do not PAW at each other’s tail. But they like to sniff each other out.
Me thinks you were very mean, Savvy – you provoked the pawing by moving your tail!

  25. We have Natasha who does wavy paws and annoys everyone. we get a fair amount of ‘you’re too close’ kind of intereaction too. But its only if kitties get too close to ech other. 😉

Almost constantly. My cat Jake even puts himself in time out in catcatraz ( a large dog crate). 😛

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
