Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

A Special Sun Puddle for The Kid Sage

HIYA!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

As you all know, I have my sun puddle room which is now called “The Princess Savannah Sun Room” (TPSSR). Well, and sometimes the “guest room”—sigh.

Summer is coming so I stay in my Alfie One Wing beddie for indirect sun puddle time

Summer is coming so I stay in my Alfie One Wing beddie for indirect sun puddle time

This is the only room in our current home where the sun always shows up. I have my special Alfie One Wing Beddie on the guest bed where I get maximum light, but not a lot of direct sun to scorch my Russian Blue fur. I do share with TKS, but often I prefer she take a hike and find her own sun puddles, which is a real challenge believe you me.

TKS is using one of the cat towers I allow her on in TPSSR

I guess TKS is getting a bit too hot and bothered with the warmer sun we get this time of year. So she has searched the house through to find a sun puddle with her name on it. At last, as Ms Sun keeps moving around, she found just the spot.

I'm just waiting for my sun puddle to appear

As you can see, she has determined that behind the not good looking (crumby) blinds in our master bedroom has a sun puddle with her name on it.

Ms Sun has provided this JUST for ME!...ahhhhh

Ms Sun has provided this JUST for ME!…ahhhhh

Does Ms Sun move around where you live? Is she hard to keep track of any particular time of year?

  2. Your guest room was re-named after you? Ever lucky! There’s not a room in my house named after me. MOUSES!

    Purrs,

The sun moves and we have very little direct sun within our house. Thank goodness for our beloved sunporch! So glad you both have your own special spots now Savvy!

Excellent sunpuddle surfing, Savvy and TKS! We get some nice afternoon sun in our bedroom, and Gracie and Zoe can often be found in the sunpuddles there. Sammy and Moosey were the same way. 🙂

Looks like she found a good spot. My cats chase the sun from room to room.

  9. I only have sun until about 9 a.m. and only if I sit on the windowsill. That is changing. When they finish the new building next door (see next Wed. post) we will never see the sun again. You look adorable in that pic, BFGF.

  10. I have perfect sun for the whole morning and a little of the afternoon in my living room. It goes from the chair to the sofa to the floor. Then I’m on my own for the rest of the day.

    Cupcake

  11. I’m a sun worshiper, just like TKS. Do you think it has something to do with being a house panther? ~Ernie

  12. You have to get your sunbeams wherever they are, even if the humans insist on calling your sunbeam location a guest room and potentially giving it away. How impolite of them.

Ciara loves a sunpuddle too, but mostly in the winter. The sun coming in through the windows in Kansas in the summer is pretty intense. Looks like TKS has found a solution for her sunpuddle search.

  14. What lovely sun puddles! Our house doesn’t seem to get many sun puddles except in the afternoon…the livingroom gets lotsa sun and with the weather warming up….the sun will blast us out of the livingroom…way too hot. We go out on the deck and enjoy a milder sun. Wish we had a sun puddle room…but we can’t have everything. MOL

Savannah you have the most wonderful sun puddle – we are lucky too as the sun goes from east to west so it’s on our back garden all day.

  18. It’s nice she’s found her own spot

  19. What cute pictures! In Southern California it’s very easy to find a sunpuddle in our house. We even have an entire room that is a massive sunpuddle.

  20. Oh that’s a good sunpuddle-place TKS… I make sure that my head is out of the sun but I enjoy the sunrays on my butt :o)

  21. The sun shows up in several different spots in our house, depending on whether it’s morning or afternoon. Sometimes I follow it. Sometimes I follow my human instead.

  22. We are furry fortunate to live in Israel where, even in winter, there are many sunny days. Also, we have windows facing all directions, so we nearly always have sunpuddles and even sun ponds somewhere. Why not get into your tunnel and teleport over to visit? We would be happy to share – besides which, today is Shimshi’s birthday pawty. TKS is invited too. We shall start at 5pm Israel time, as soon as Mummy’s cleaning lady leaves.
    Purrs.

  23. You’re really good to TKS, and it’s good that there is a spot for her. We get the sun (when it comes between the rain) in the summer nearly all day as the Palaces faces South. I usually end up in a shady spot under the bed rather than full light, as can get too hot on the bed. purrs your oft soggy pal ERin

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
