SPECIAL BLOG POST: #RememberMeThursday #RememberTheRescue
HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!
I do not regularly post on Thursdays, but this Thursday is an exceptionally special day. The Helen Woodward Animal Center is hosting a social media event which I sure hope is shared across the world.
Remember Me Thursday is a special day they set aside and ask the world to join to help bring a huge spotlight on all the animals still left without homes in shelters. If we all SHARE as many social media posts as possible we can give voice to these animals who do not have our social media presence. LET’S PAW IT FORWARD!!
This unique event is a purrfect time for me to also share how thankful I am that The Kid Sage and I are able to have a wonderful, loving home where we are treated like royalty! We are proud former adult shelter rescue cats who are now able to give voices to those who have not yet been able to follow us into their own homes. We will never forget our time in an animal shelter where we longed for someone to say the magic words—”I PICK YOU!!”
But my Dad P and Mom L did say “I pick you!”
And The Kid Sage was even more fortunate cuz she didn’t have to spend more than like seven days in the public shelter. I had to spend three months there and then a year at Kitty Corner waiting for someone to notice me even though I was so shy. TKS was only at Kitty Corner for about ten days before Dad P found her.
Our stories turned out with Happy Tails Endings. Please SHARE my blog post and every social media post you find with this hashtag—#RememberMeThursday or this one—#RememberTheRescue. Together we can save them all.
I am joining my pal Brian’s Home Thankful Thursday Blog Hop on this very special day. Thanks tons Brian for hosting such an important blog hop. Just click on the badge below to transport over to check out all the other Thankful Thursday blog posts.
Does it make me a bad person that as much as I love Ellie Mae – no matter how perfect she is – I can’t forget the other faces at the adoption event looking for homes?!?! I confess I even check out the rescue’s page every so often – hoping for miracles. As I’m typing this, I’m thinking of the most significant thing you’ve taught me: not just hoping – but doing. Being the change I want to see in the world instead of passively sitting around waiting for miracles.
That moment of being chosen is really like the best thing ever, isn’t it? We are all rescues in this family. Though Miss Rosie was a stray – she skipped the shelter and walked right in our back door.
s & s…we iz glad ya both finded yur for everz….we R all rezcuze N we hope a bazillion petz findz ther foreverz home be coz oh thiz day !!!! ☺☺♥♥
Great post dea friends. Adoptions are just the best and every critter deserves that happiness. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
we are so very glad you got PICKED
Whoa! Everyone’s post is go good. I blame TW for not spending more time on mine. You know my story. The peeps found me on petfinder.com otherwise they probably wouldn’t have even seen me hiding in the back of the cage during the adoption event. I was brought there only cos they were innerested in me and I got there 2 hours late. They could have left before I even arrived.
We are so glad that you two found a furrever home, Savvy and TKS. Everyone deserves it! Good Luck Pawkisses to all the animals who are waiting for a furrever home ❤ ❤ ❤
Being rescued when so many have walked by and said yuck or NO is so wonderful a feeling, and makes you want to share how good it is, and not just for the humans, peeps but for us cats who take on the challenge of a new home!
Toodle-pip and purrs
We were surprised when we learned that less than a third of all pets in the US come from shelters and rescues. We need to change that. This is such a important message to get out. #RememberMeThursday
I’m so glad you two found such a great home! I wish all kitties could be so fortunate.
When our friend Savannah speaks we sit up and listen. we are with you. We KNOW you fight for the undercat, and your amazing work with TNR. This day is fur those of us who ARE animal lovers to encourage our friends to the the same as us!!
We ALL have rescue cats, we ALL speak out, and bit by bit we are making a difference. Bravo!!
I wish that there would be a chance for all friends in need… and I often wish we had the same good animal welfare act they have in germany….
Get political and let the laws be changed – so that no healthy, not dangerous pet may be put down anymore. Go out and fight for the cause. Just to sit silently remembering the victims of stupid human laws does not change anything.
