Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Unbelievable!!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Ok, ok, ok. I guess a senior ladycat, aka Princess, can learn a new thing or one. Yeah, only one. For those who have followed my blog since the beginning, you know that I had a really tough time accepting Sage aka The Kid Sage aka TKS. And when sweet KK aka Katie arrived, she was easy to accept because she is so very timid of not only other cats, but also of Mom L and Dad P.

So then we were a threesome and I was ok with that. I knew I was THE Princess of my castle.

Enter The Domino Kid, age now at eight months, aka Domie aka juvenile delinquent! Yup! This kid just doesn’t know what “by your leave” means!! He just goes about “his” business assuming all of us ladycats are gonna make room for him. HAH!!!

*ears turning red*—ahem…koff…koff—well I may be relenting just a teeny tiny bit. This boy cat is not only very humble around me, he is also kind’a warm. And my old bones like extra warmth, na’mean???

So here he is this week, trying to get as close to my royal body as possible whilst I rest in my lovely warm tent on my our master bed.

Mom L comes in to find only his feetsies showing??!!

Now she fears the worst! He is trying to interrupt my afternoon nap time. There he is, spread out like a long sausage against the pillows that make up my napping tent.

Holy Cat!! Mom L finds that he has stretched out so that his paws are nanoseconds from MY ROYAL PAWS!!

My pals, my pals. I had no idea he wanted to be so near my royal presence—sigh—the price of being a royal.

Then just yesterday, Mom L was sitting on my our couch, near me; and this boy cat jumps right up behind Mom L and glues himself to ME!!

Mind you, I am deaf so I did not hear him—but I certainly felt him. And …ahhh…hmmmm…he was kind’a warm and comforting. Wait!! No, no, I don’t mean I actually “liked” his smelly boy cat body next to mine. No, no—not at all. But then—

When Mom L glared at him, he turned and stuck his wet, drippy juvenile nose into my furs!!! And, well—I never hissed, grumbled nor did I snarl!! So unlike me!! Finally, he walked right over my body and settled himself in, tucked up a bit next to my royal self.

And, well—I could not help myself. I just finally relaxed with Mom L stroking me, and I settled in and yes, I slept. He was very nice and warm.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

Savvy, at this season of the year, a bit of extra warmth, especially if it comes out of soft furriness, is not to be sneezed at. It is a win-win for you and Dommie …and Mom L.

  8. Oh siblings (especially brothers as they are more trainable) once they are trained can be very useful. If you don’t feel like grooming ask them too. If you are cold have them give you a snuggle. Want a comfy pillow for your head, lay on their belly. It’s really very nice. NOTE: the proper training part is very impawtant. ~Scylla

  9. A few more harmonious moments with this newcomer … Sounds like paws in a good direction!

I do remember how you are all these years, and I am proud of you for allowing this handsome boy cat next to you to keep you warm. You two should make friends. Invite him into your tent with you. The warmth will be heavenly with the two of you in the tent.

  11. oooh what a good solution and a happy end for you two …

  12. Our heads are round so that our opinions can change direction, Princess!
