HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!

This 'tail' is a 3 hanky tail...just sayin'...all happy

This ‘tail’ is a 3 hanky tail…just sayin’…all happy

I know you remember the urgency to help a great woofie named Cash…find his forever home…or at the very least a foster for a months…click HERE for the back story…

chained...

chained…

Once you read the back story…you will understand how completely happy, joyful and fulfilled I am to report on where Cash is now…thank you to each and everyone one of you who shared his need for a home.  Cash found one…directly related to all the networking all of YOU did to help him…and I simple must give a very big shout out to Five Sibes for sharing Cash’s urgent need…because their Face Book presence is where Cash’s new family eventually found him.

The aspect of this rescue which is most heart warming to me is that every one who shared Cash’s need never once paid attention to whether or not he was a woofie or cat that needed to be networked to find a home…everyone…cats, woofies, piggies, bunnies…you all helped.  I hope you will all enjoy seeing his journey once his forever home found him.

Before and After

Before and After

…first Cash was to be flown from North Carolina, USA to Rhode Island, USA…by his original rescuer who lives in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Unfortunately Cash arrived at the airport in North Carolina without having his required water and food dishes in his carrier…no fault, no blame…but the airline and others took care and Cash was given his water and food dishes and set off on a slightly delayed schedule.  His new family was in contact throughout with me and Mom L…we were so excited for Cash!!!

Cash first came to our attention on August 14 through a Twitter contact…and now it was September 12th and he was on his way to his forever home…and his arrival was simply incredible…

If you have now read Cash’s back story…click HERE…then you know that he has not had much human contact for the first year of his life.  He is about one year old.

His first night “inside”…was amazing…remember…he had been staked out on a short rusted chain to a post for at least 9 to 12 months…

Whoa! this is nice!!

Whoa! This is mighty nice!

Cash arrived very late Friday night, September 12…and his New Mom Liz confessed that she slept on that short couch near Cash’s crate…and Samantha, his 7 year old Sibe sister, and Foster, his 5 year old Shiba Inu brother, slept on the larger couch…what a furramily!!!

Mom Liz stated…“Cash woke me about 4:30 AM to go potty…he went out…came right back in…and right back to his crate…”

And the next day…well just take a look at this short video of Cash experiencing being off a short rusted chain for the first time in his young life.

Cash worked his way into the hearts of his new family…at least his new Dad Mike and new Mom Liz and new Sibe sisfur Samantha…ummmm…I am thinking his new brofur Foster and Cash have some stuff to woo about…you might want to check out my pals over at Love Is Being Owned by a Husky…they are posting about Cash as well this week…and my pals, Nuk Nuk and Isis at RA Husky were so great to help too and have a post up about Cash…this took a global village…seriously…

Let me share another wonderful video of Cash’s first weekend in his new home…he discovered that squeeky toys are pawsome…and his new fave is Mr Snakie…who he tried to bury to save for another day…but first…Cash looked like he was a ‘CAT’…on the ‘nip’…

Here is slideshow of Cash in his first 5 days in his forever home…enjoy…and bring a hankie…just sayin’…

If you have not used that hankie yet…

…Cash arrived very late on a Friday night…then on Sunday night his Mom Liz shared this with us…

“My husband and I were going to bed, so we put Cash in his crate, well we kept hearing barking and banging, so I went downstairs and checked things out and all seemed ok, i pulled the crate away from the wall thinking Cash was moving around a lot and went back to bed, 5 minutes later and it starts again, so I go back downstairs and it’s actually Samantha, my husky,  going crazy…she doesn’t want him in the crate.  So I let Cash out, he follows me upstairs and is now sleeping on the bed, while Samantha is nice and quiet sleeping on the couch downstairs.  I’m telling you, I can’t make this stuff up!”

This is how Mom Liz and Dad Mike believe Cash see’s his forever home…

I am looking outside from inside for the first time ever in my life...thank you

And if Cash’s story is not enough for you to use that hankie…let me share this…just as Cash was finding his forever home…I received information about FOUR Sibes who were owner surrendered to the public kill shelter in my area, in Northern California.  They were not all from the same owner…just all dropped at the kill shelter on the same weekend…August 30…

Hutch was thankfully pulled for Norsled, a northern California sled dog rescue group.  Snowflake and Puppy No Name were adopted by September 12th…and finally…just Tuesday, September 16, Angel was adopted with her date for review for being put to death on September 18.  All of these Sibes have been tremendously networked using social media anipals…I cannot thank you all enough for having helped.  We may not ‘be’ the direct connection to all FOUR being rescued/adopted…but the very SHARING put enough positive energy into the universe to help their rescuer/adopters find them…blessings on all of you.

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!

I'm excited, really, I just don't show emotion

I’m excited, really, I just don’t show emotion

We are just thrilled to bring a very happy rescue story to you…it is about a panther mancat in Southern California who is now in his forever home living with very good friends of Mom L and Dad P.

I invited our new Cuzin to ask his Mom Marie to share his rescue story with all of you…I know how much we all luvluvluv Real Rescue Cats Talking!!

Please meet Cuzin Midnight!!

Hey Everyone...this is the photo that got me my home!

Hey Everyone…this is the photo that got me my home!

APAWS!!  APAWS!!   APAWS!!

I asked Mom Marie some questions…here are her responses…

  • How did you find Cuzin Midnight?

I found Midnight on Petfinder.com.  He was at a shelter in Baldwin Park—outside Los Angeles.

We lost our rescue cat Marmalade (after 15 years) on May 16th.

IMG_0152

Charles missed him so much that I decided we should think about adoption sooner rather than later.  I was looking for a kitty that did not look like Marmalade since the loss was too recent and I didn’t think it was fair to the new kid.  I think I looked at a hundred different cats before I saw Midnight.

He immediately stole my heart.  I looked at more pictures and read more descriptions, but he was always “The One.”  The Baldwin Park shelter is part of Los Angeles animal rescue, a kill shelter.

However, Midnight had an angel named Mary from United Hope for Animals.  She is a cat person and she had met him at the shelter.  Her cause was to find him a home.  Without her, I am not sure that it would have happened.  He was also accepted into the PETCO adoption program.  A lovely lady who volunteers at the shelter takes cats to PETCO where they have an adoption center.  We actually met Midnight at the PETCO store in West Covina (only about 5 minutes from the Baldwin Park shelter) and took him home from there.   When the adoption is complete, PETCO gives a book of coupons for everything that you might need for your new friend.

  •  Do you know how Midnight ended up in the kill shelter?

Midnight was surrendered by his owner.  He is a wonderful cat so I am sure he came from a loving home.  He was neutered and micro chipped when he arrived at the shelter.

Midnight came into the shelter on June 6th.  He went home with us on June 20th.  He wasn’t thrilled with the 110 mile car ride and he talked to us about it all the way home.  Something about all these promises of a wonderful new home and all he could see was a very small carrier!!

  •  Does Cuzin Midnight get along with your other fur family?

We have a Golden Retriever named Molly.

Molly...she has been a therapy woofie

Molly…she has been a therapy woofie

Obviously, it is a concern when two adult kids have to meet and greet for the first time.  No one could give us any idea if Midnight liked or hated dogs, so we had to take a chance.

Since Marmalade had trained Molly really well in social skills relating to cats, we were 99% sure that Molly would be okay with all of it.  Midnight was the unknown.  They met, they touched noses and sniffed and immediately settled into mutual tolerance.

Neither one has hissed, barked, cuffed or attacked the other.  They both seem content with each other’s company.  Midnight does like to leap over Molly at breakneck speed to get her attention and he thinks that her tail is the best toy he owns.

Molly just looks at him with a look that says, “I can’t believe you just did that.”

Our vet thinks that our little boy is about 3 years old.  He becomes more playful each day and has blossomed into a beautiful boy.  He is strictly an inside cat and makes no attempt to leave the house.  He does spend time sitting on his cat perch watching for a lizard that lives in the small garden next to the kitchen.   Also, a zillion hummingbirds enjoy the garden which affords hours of amusement.

We are very happy that we decided to adopt sooner rather than later.  It does not make us miss or love Marmalade less since, clearly, we have enough space in our hearts to keep the old memories and to make new memories.

And now for those photos you have all been waiting for…first…we, The Kid Sage and I, decided to put together a little “Welcome to The Promised Land” gift box for our new Cuzin Midnight…and of course Sage…she had to snoopervise everything!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

…in fact she so closely snoopervised the Nip Ball that Mom L had to go get a new one for Cuzin Midnight!  How could we send him the one The Kid Sage had slobbered on??

And now you can see Cuzin Midnight enjoying his new home and his Welcome to The Promised Land gift box…

Do You Believe Social Media Saves Lives?: Thursday Purrsday

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!

I am dancing a happy dance, meowing a happy song and purring like crazy because of the POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA that helps me give a voice to the cats and woofies who come to me asking for help finding their forever home or  a responsible foster home.  I am leaping around because I know Social Media enable me to help those who need assistance raising some funds to cover the cost of medical care for a particular need.

Truly, you have to luvluvluv rescue...

Truly, you have to luvluvluv rescue…

I learned the THREE TRUTHS about companion animal rescue…

Sharing saves lives…

I cannot save all…not alone…not even with all my anipals’ help…

I can “Paw It Forward”…SHARE, Re-TWEET, RE-POST…together we can MAKE A DIFFERENCE…

Rescue Rocks

Sharing, Caring…Saves Live

(you can search my archives using each animal’s name to read about their rescue story)

Let me  introduce my newest woofie rescue pal…

CASH

Oh, Hi!!!

Oh, Hi!!!

Cash insisted on sharing his story with you all by himself…please pull up a cushion, relax, grab a bone to chew or a nip mouse to nibble…

“Hi, my name is Cash, you know, after that famous singer Johnnie Cash…

…when my fur coat comes back I will not only be dressed in black, but will have enough white to show off my dark black coat.  Oh, and did you notice?  I have freckles on my snooter!

Freckles!

Freckles!

My Vet Doc thinks I am a Siberian Husky, but I don’t have any papers. I was found in August, 2014… attached by a short rusted chain to a post, in the North Carolina heat  with no shelter or shade.  The neighbors told my rescuer I often had no food or water either.

But, I have heart!

I am only about a year old, and even though my coat was so matted, sunburned and flea infested I had to be shaved…

photo 2 edit

…I still have a great heart and just adore all humans and other dogs as well.

I have been neutered, tested for heart worm (negative) and now treated for heart worm and fleas…all up to date on my vaccinations and ready to go…except I have no where to go.

My rescuer is from Los Angeles, CA… and he will be flying me back there in early September.

But here’s the problem…I can’t  stay with him because he has 3 other rescue dogs he must find homes for…as he has just rescued them from living death on the street of Puerto Rico where he was working on a job.

So I am hoping one of you out there might let me come hang out with you for a month or so.  My rescuer said he will take care of any vet care and food etc. if you can provide me a safe, loving foster home with a fully fenced yard from which I cannot escape.

We huskies are known as the “ultimate canine escape artists”.  Of course, if any of you want to give me my permanent home, that would be even better.  My rescuer has help with reviewing adoption applications to ensure my foster, or permanent, home will be safe, loving and with a fully fenced yard.

If you would like to know more about me or meet me, please contact my rescuer by email: BrettD@relativitymedia.com

You may also download a lovely rescue flyer Savannah made just for me at this link:

I really appreciate any help you can give me. If you personally cannot foster or adopt me, would you mind copying this flyer and posting it at vet offices, no kill dog rescues or anywhere else you think of.

If you would share my search for my foster home OR EVEN BETTER…for my permanent home on Face Book, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest…anywhere you are willing, I will send you my softest ‘woos’ of gratitude. We Sibes don’t often bark, we speak in ‘woo’s and arwwwooo’s”.  Play bows, Cash

Savannah here…I hope you all believe in the Power of Social Media to Save Lives as much as I do and will SHARE, RE-TWEET, PIN…to help Cash find at least a short term foster home…even better…his permanent home.
