An Update to Tigger’s Search: Adult Cat Needs A Home

I have something serious to share
I am back again with important news that really puts our sweet mancat Tigger, an adult cat, between that rock and hard spot we hear the humans talk about every now and then.
You see, we thought Tigger would be able to move back to Kitty Corner by the end of this month when his foster Miss Tammy is leaving on a several day holiday. We were excited because we hoped this would put Tiggy in front of some of the walk in traffic who come looking to adopt adult cats like him.
And then last Tuesday…a fire in an office above Kitty Corner, and Contra Costa Humane Society’s offices…changed everything. At 1 AM the Adoption Manager and Executive Director were called by the fire department to immediately evacuate all cats (and one rabbit). Both of the staff members live about 25 minutes away…but by the time they arrived they found the doors wide open and the fire men blowing smoke clearing ozone through their whole space.
The staff froze afraid all the cats had escaped outside…but the very responsible and caring firemen had grabbed all the cats they could find and placed them in small offices with doors but no exterior exits nor windows…so the cats could not escape. WHEW!!!
The property manager was there and quickly let the staff move all the cats to another building just about 200 feet (60.96 meters) down the street. The space is large and empty…so the two staff drug several cat towers and beds so the cats could hide and be comfy…and food, water, litter boxes….they worked until 5 AM getting the cats settled.
Mom L went over as soon as Miss Chrissy, the adoption manager arrived next morning about 10:30 AM. Mom L helped do some things and took photos of the cats and their temp home.
I know it looks like there are not cats…but they are all in that one large room and the smaller one…just too tired and terrified to move…
CCHS had no smoke, fire damage…just the toxic smell of the fire and smoke which will keep them out of their offices and the cats out of their space for at least a week if not more.
This puts Tigger in a possible dilemma…he likely will not be able to move into a private suite at Kitty Corner by the end of the month. And as of today…not one…not even one single call has come in to inquire about Tigger.
I am going to ask once again…Will you help me network Tigger even more than we all did when I first asked on August 14th…one WHOLE MONTH ago. He needs a home to call his own. Miss Tammy must keep him in a bathroom during the day as she works…and she always lets him out into a hall and a larger room as soon as she gets home. But he needs to have more space and a home he can claim as his.

I have helped Mom L create a flyer that can be downloaded safely and securely. My pal Brian, over at Brian’s Home, lets me borrow some of his server space to house rescue flyers and what not. You can click HERE to be transported to the flyer.
Because Tiggy (he is known as Tiggy and Tigs to his furriends) loves that box so much…Mom L made him a brand new one…and it will be his to take to his new home…he will also come with one month’s supply of soft food and kibble and a new medium cat tower/scratcher. He has had an expensive and much needed dental already…so his new family will not have to bear that expense again for a long time hopefully. He is vaccinated, micro-chipped and all set to go! Box and all…

Holy holy HOLY MOLEYS. We saw on FB (so sorry, mom’s been nutso with work and the Independence Cat Crisis at Great Plains – yes there are currently cats Animal Control is going to kill in a day or two if we can’t hustle them out to SOMEONE – aaaaaaaah! And now mom’s working on a Jackson Galaxy event in 3 weeks – she kinda wishes the world would stop so she could get off just to catch her breath!!).

And THANK YOU to Mom L for being such a HUGE Hero for these sweet kitties like Tigs! (And we’re sorry for the incoherent comment above!!!)
You guys relax, ‘okay??? Tell us if we can help with the cats in KS??? ANd Mom L knows we promised to deliver something for the new blog site…but until after Oct 1…we are totally SLAMMED…so if you guys want someone else to do Mom L’s part let me know…so embarrassing to have to say this…but we have been doing our research and are ready right after Oct 1…sigh

oh Nuk Nuk…thanks buddy…and I am still working like a devil cat along with the Sibes at Miss Jenna’s for the Sibe at my local shelter. Her name is actually Angel…she was lost in the shuffle with the 4 that were dumped during same time period. Other 3 are free…so we are working on Angel now…you can see her on Mom L’s FB page

It’s overwhelming,the amount of homeless animals there are.

Mom just tweeted about Tigger. We are shocked that he is still waiting for a forever home and still has no place to go. We do have a few relatives in California still. Mom will see if she can enlist their help. Trish is so generous to offer help to get Tigger to NV, UT or AZ. Maybe with a wider circle of possibilities his chances will improve. Purring and Praying. Fire is so scary. I’m glad the cats are safe. Wishing I could do more for Tigger. We’ll share again when TW gets home from her errands.
That is so sad about the fire, but how very kind and caring of the firemen to save the cats and rabbit. We are sharing sweet Tigger on our sidebar on Blogspot, but we wish we could do more to help that sweetie get to a loving, forever home. We hope this outreach brings success and he will soon not ever have to be moved again. Hugs and nose kisses

oh no…. what a horrible day for CCHS, but fortunately all cats and the rabbit are safe. I’m a little sad that no one called for Tigger, I hope so much that the flyers will help to find a new home for Tgger.
That is awful about the fire. I am very glad the cats are all safe. It is very sad that no-one has been found to give Tigger his forever home. I do hope he gets one very soon. I have linked to his story in my sidebar.
We saw your FB post about the fire but hadn’t thought about its impact to Tigger. We were just relieved that the other cats were all right. We’re scheduling another tweet about Tigger to share him again for later today.
Oh another fire. This is serrible. Did you hear about the fire at a Dog Rescue here in the UK? So far they’ve lost over 50 animals

So scary about the fire – glad no cats were hurt and thank heavens for the caring kind firemen who helped get them out of danger. Their temporary space is nice. I’m sure they’re all scared that the safe place they had was turned upside down! We will gladly share Tigger’s story again…..it’s hard to imagine not one person has expressed an interest in giving him his forever home. It makes my heart ache.

I am so surprised & not in a good way that NO ONE has inquired about Tigger. He is a gorgeous cat & I just do not understand it…I hope people in your are will post flyers & that Tigger will find a home!I wish there was more I could do but being so far away all I can offer are prayers & support to you. There jsut has to be someone who wants an ‘orinche kitteh’ (as Nylablue would say!!)

P.S.: I do sort of understand it…people are dumping their 4 leggeds here at an alarming rate. Losing their jobs & some their homes. The first breathing individual to be sent away is the family dog or cat…..I was @ our local Shelter Saturday & it broke my heart to see SO MANY surrendered homeless 4 leggeds….. 😦
We know. Have been seeing it here for about 4-5 years now. And money hungry land owners are only willing to rent homes without pets. Shameful IMHO
Same here Linda! I abhor landlords that say NO PETS> Turns out it is illegal to turn away people with 4 leggeds…yet they do it. Most of the time people have to lie & say they do not have pets & then sneak them in under the cover of darkness. It IS beyond shameful; it is seriously evil on all levels….
The only question I asked when I was put on Housing waiting list was “Can I bring my cat?” If they would have said no I would have taken my name of the list. 😉 Love me; lome kittygirl 😉

Your Mommy is on my lost of the best Moomy ever for all cats! We may just need to take her up on that…our next strategy is an award to whoever finds his approved home…donated of course to a 501 3c rescue/shelter.
