Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

An Apology and A Favor Fulfilled

Hiya! Savannah Here!

First, my apology.  Yesterday for Monday Meowsie News, I told you about a really cool card I was given, from “Miss Martha”…she does some volunteer stuff with my Dad.

WELL!….let me meow it out right now to DINA, Miss Martha’s cat, I AM SO SORRY I GAVE YOUR PEEP CREDS THAT BELONGED TO YOU…so my really nice house warming card was from DINA, who follows my blog when her peep will help her out, ya know, DINA has paws, not thumbs and all that.

…so here is the card again…and my new furriend DINA sent it to me and we have not even had a chance to swap photos or meow with each other, and yet she sent me this lovely card….purrrrrrs to DINA!

…wipes forehead with paw…whew…that was soooooooo embarrassing…of course, Mom made that mistake, not me! Just sayin’…

Now for a Favor Fulfilled…when I was showing photos of what our old house looked like when we were packing, I posted this photo…

…my bestest furriend here in the San Francisco Bay Area, Spitty, left this comment:

“My Human, on the other hand, is quite intrigued by that adorable tiny striped red chair! Story, please?”

To which I responded telling his human about my Mom’s dolls from her childhood and that this little chair belongs to one of the dollies.  Then Spitty sent another comment the next day:

“I hope you post a picture of it with the dolly when you get all settled in the new house, okay???”

So I like to do favors for furriends whenever I can…and Mom finally got her dollies unpacked, even though they are not all completely settled in their cabinet yet…

Here ya go Spitty’s human…the dolly in her chair…and some shots of the other girls trying to get their home all unpacked just like us…MOL!

…the dolly and chair..

…the Ginny Girls trying to get all settled in…you can see their upstairs bedroom and the middle level is their living room and dining room…

…this is their kitchen and family room…

So I hope Spitty’s human is checking his furriends’ blogs today…’cuz this one is for her…meow…

Paw hugs for my furriend Spitty and his human, Savannah

Your mom sure does have a lot of dolls, Savannah. But then… I sure do have a lot of nip mice. We all have to collect something, right? Oh, and I mustn’t forget ’bout all my pens in my pen collection. I’ve got lots of those, too.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I was going to comment like 15 minutes ago but the Human stared and stared and stared at these pictures and biggified them and drank in efurry detail! She really, really LUBS these dolls and all their things! The dolly in the red chair is her favorite and she looks just like the Human imagined she might. She loves ALL the dollies! She’s intrigued by the Ginny Trip-Mates box–are these dollies all from a long time ago, like the ’60s, or even ’50s? They are wonderful and so is their furniture.

The Human says THANK YOU to your Mommy for taking all these great pictures and posting them for her!

Me, eh. I can take them or leave them. But I was real glad to see YOU, Savannah!

  5. love the little chair (and Spitty, OF COURSE!) But…I’m a little “creeped out” by the dolls 🙂

  6. Hey Savvy, Jetty here. Hi Miss Linda.

Wowee wow wow… my human sister, Rachel would love the dollies… she loves American Girls and vintage dolls. So nice of you to remember to fulfill Spitty’s favor.

Don’t feel embarrassed Savvy, you corrected the error with Dina and properly thanked her… lovely manners. 🙂

  7. I don’t wanna cause trouble here, but I’d be mighty tempted to try out that chair if I were you. Or was you. Sorry. It’s been a long day.

  8. Whoa! Gramma would’ve LOVED that doll collection. She worked in a toy store and used to love the Madam Alexander dolls. She bought a few but had to hide them from my Grampa cos money was scarce and he’d killed her if he knew she was buying expensive dolls. TW never heard of the Ginny dolls but I’m sure Gramma would know. Pop has a collection of Mary Moo-Moo’s cos he collects cows.

oh, TW must be younger than my Mom…Ginny Dolls were the dream of almost every little girl in the early ’50s. Before Barbie with the boobs showed up MOL

  9. Savannah, our human (Janey) is afraid of dolls…she said she needs extra cuddles from us now…we tried scritchy scratches but it didn’t go down too well….her furless bod isn’t scratch proof. Who knew?

  11. Like Sammy, I assumed that chair was yours BOL!

  12. Gee Savannah……I kinda thought maybe that little chair was YOUR special chair – looks quite comfy! Your Mom sure has a BIG doll collection. My Mom has a pig collection and one of these days I’ll show a photo of that. Thanks for SHARING!

p.s. I still think you’d look cute sitting in that chair……..tee hee

  13. OMD, your Mom’s doll collection is just beautiful. Our Mom has a collection of Madame Alexander dolls of the world. She needs to find a place to display them now that the little bipeds are old enough to appreciate them.

too bad! My Mom had older bro’ and then little sis who came along when Mom was already 11. And Mom packed up her dolls when she went away to college so she still has most of them, just not all their clothes her own Mom made for them

  15. That is such a beautiful display cabinet for those dollies! We’ve got to get Mommy to see it since she’s been looking for display cabinet ideas for HER numerous animal figurines which are now in boxes since she said she can’t trust US with them. What’s that supposed to mean?

  16. Awwww….. What cute dolls! I want to chew them.
