Learning How To Play Together: Part Two

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I promised you another look at a more recent opportunity The Kid Sage gave me to play with her. It was at night, earlier this week. The photos are a bit grainy and dark because like I said, it was at night.

Our tunnels seem to be the avenue TKS is using in her attempts to try and get me to learn how to play with another cat. Last Friday my post shared how she used our three way teleport tunnel in an effort to sneak up on me.

At least she could turn around in the middle to escape head first.

Does Nana see me?

Does Nana see me?

Not so this time when she tried to use my Fast Leopard Teleport Tunnel to make another sneak attack…crazypants kid! This is a totally horrible photo but it is the only way I can show you how far TKS made it through the tunnel before she had second thoughts…heh…heh

I can see you through the port hole

I can see you through the port hole

I moved around to the end opening of the tunnel to make sure TKS knew I busted her attempt at a sneak attack.

Are you crazy? I know you are in there

Are you crazy? I know you are in there

TKS sat in the tunnel for a few moments deciding what to do…and how to escape, You see she could not turn around inside this tunnel like the Three Way Tunnel. Can you imagine what her only option for exiting without having to dash past me was??

Backing out...tail first

Backing out…tail first

Yep…she slowly, ever so slowly backed out of the tunnel…

Hind legs out...

Hind legs out…

After every few inches of backing, she would hesitate to make sure she was safe *snicker*…

Tummy out...

Tummy out…

Finally her whole body emerged and she checked to see if I had moved.

Whew! Savvy is still at the other end

I am surprised Mom L caught any photos because she and Dad P were trying to keep from snorting and guffawing out loud.

Mom L doesn’t call her “Pistol Pants” for no reason. She is a dare devil and convinced she will one day teach me how to play with her. I sure do hope so.

It’s A Selfie Kind’a Sunday

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

We have been having a lot of fun trying out new water marks for my photos. What do you think of this one? It’s Mom L’s fave, but don’t pay any attention to that whatsoever.

And yes, she had to play with a rotten iPhone photo of me using PicMonkey to see if she could make it into something artsy. How did she do???

Learning How To Play Together: Part One

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Those of you who have been with me from the beginning of my blog know that I suffer from being an ‘Adult Cat Survivor of Kittenhood Trauma’. I am not attempting to make fun of the humans who are struggling with this challenge. But I have always, with my blog, tried to bring to the attention of humans that many adult cats and dogs also must find ways to move through recovering from abuse which might easily have occurred when we were very young.

Lucky for me, I have a forever home which gives me all of my basic needs and  lots more. About fifteen months ago Mom and Dad introduced me to a new feline family member. Her name is Sage. I have been struggling ever since to learn what the heck I am supposed to do with HER??!!

The Kid Sage

The Kid Sage

The Kid Sage learned very early in her life to play with other cats. She had a sister, Rosemary, and they played, laughed and loved their humans. So Sage knows about ‘playing nice with others’…sadly…I do not.

I have decided to share with my followers the attempts I have been making over the last month to learn how to play with The Kid Sage…who would play with ANYONE if she had the chance….sigh…

Seriously? You want to 'surprise' me?!!

Seriously? You want to ‘surprise’ me?!!

She seems to believe that I, another cat, cannot ‘smell’ her when she gets close.

ummm....ya know I 'know' you are in there...right???!!

ummm….ya know I ‘know’ you are in there…right???!!

But she is so eager to play with me…she just keeps on coming…

Sheeesh! As though I don't know she is right there

Sheeesh! As though I don’t know she is right there

Sage seems to realize when she has overstepped her ‘boundaries’ with me…and she desperately searches for a way to disengage. At this point it is all I can do to not chuckle over her own self devised predicament.

I do try to respond; but most often it is with…sadly…a hiss…as I do not know what else to do. But…I snarl less and I try to find ways to disengage that will not cause either of us to ‘lose face’ so to speak.

I am leaving TKS. Another time perhaps

Be sure to visit again on Monday as I share another even more recent chapter in my diary as I learn to actually ‘be’ a cat.
