My Review of Our Last Homely Home

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Hey my pals, I have been wanting to share with you a photo tail tale of how The Kid Sage and I did our first full review of our new and last homely home.

First please know that this is also an account of my leaps and bounds of progress in recovering from trauma suffered before I pawed Mom L and Dad P to be my forever humans. I showed my progress from the moment Dad P arrived back at our old rental to collect me and TKS.

Dad P made a cozy set of safe beds/spaces in the guest bathroom at our last rental. I selected the one that was a short two foot jump from floor to a shelf with a nice cat bed. TKS selected to use the “sink bed” Dad P created by placing a soft towel in the bathroom sink. When Dad P quietly entered the room after all the movers were long gone, he startle the heck outta TKS and me. BUT—look who took on the role of protector! ME!! Sage flew from her sink bed to the shelf where I was resting and climbed over me to get BEHIND me. And guess how I reacted?? Go on! Guess!!

Ok, so I just held my ground, never hissed, and stared down whoever was coming into our safe space! Yes! Me!! I have become TKS’ protector!!

Now here is visual proof of my taking the lead once again in our review of our new and last homely home.

Come on Sage, we need to do an approval review of our last new homely home

Okay, Savvy—you go first.

You stick with me TKS. Cover my six while we do this!

If you don’t know what “cover my six” means—‘watch your six‘ does indeed mean ‘watch your back’. It refers to the 6 position on the face of a clock. If you were standing in the center of a clock face, facing the 12 position, the 6 position would be immediately behind you.

Come’on TKS. get your paws movin’!! Stop sight seein’! We have a review to do!

I headed off to review the other two bedrooms and guest bathroom. We had of course already seen the master bedroom and bath.

Nice office space for Dad P. Let’s see what’s up with the guest human bathroom

I wanted to make sure Mom L and Dad P had a proper place for their human guests to wash up and whatnot. Heaven forbid they would “share” my our master bathroom!

Looks like a good space. Glad they got that new toilet

Hey Savvy, did ya see they got a new kind’a toilet paper??

Hey TKS, remember “watch my six”? Come on—there is another whole level to review.

TKS I am goin’ down—are you with me?

Where is that kid? She is such a sight seer!

I had to give up and keep movin’. TKS is such a tourist—always stoppin’ to look at the view instead of sticking to our review protocol.

That’s it, I am goin’ down to the next level TKS

Waaaiittt!!

Whoa!! Savvy!!!! Don’t go without me!! Wait!!

Yeowzah! Look at that downstairs!

Holy Ceiling Cat!! That is a great downstairs! So bright and open

Hey Savvy, did ya see that our bench made the move?

Yeah TKS, I did. hope they put a nice cat bed in there like the one I inherited from Angel Alfie.

Come on TKS, daylight is burning and we still have more to review

Savvy??? I can like see WATER from up here. Can you see it down there??

Hang on TKS, lemme check out the kitchen first.

Yup, this is the kitchen and I can see our food delivery stations set up already

I’m headed to the dining room for the humans. And I think we get a water view from here as well as upstairs

Thank Ceiling Cat they painted the wall with a nice calming color

Savvy?? I found your blankie here on the new table in the living room. Can we use this as a new cat bed??

Whoa! the water view from here is pawsome! And nice sun puddles everywhere

The big screen TV made the move too. I knew Mom L and Dad P would make sure we had entertainment

My inspection review is done. And now I know I have soft stairs to lounge on and play on—I proclaim this review over

I am a most happy, chill’axed cat. Thank you Ceiling Cat for answering our dreams for our last homely home.

Over the Threshold and Through the Door We Go

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Catchy title don’t you think? Well, it’s about time I give you a peek at some of the incredible progress I have been making since we moved to our permanent home. Mom L thinks this home is changing all of us in lots of cool ways, and me especially.

I We have this really nice small balcony off of my our master bedroom. It was made especially charming when we had the redwood replaced to clean up some dry rot. Anyway, now it’s all nice and whatnot, Mom L used some gift cards Dad P got a while back to purchase a nice little table and chairs for them to enjoy having coffee on said balcony in the mornings.

Guess who they invited to join them the first time they used the balcony? Yup! Me and The Kid Sage. Now unfortunately when they made this invite, I was down stairs taking my second nap so TKS was the first to be invited OUTSIDE!

Hey! This air smells really fresh!

TKS enjoyed herself lots as she explored the balcony and what lies beyond and under it.

Is that our master bedroom on the other side? Am I outside??

Silly cat. She knew she was taking the big step to the outside.

Gosh, I can see all of our patio and the water.

And then she made a most remarkable discovery.

Hey Dad P! I can see through this crack all the way down!!

At least she didn’t forget about me getting my chance to be outside.

‘Scuse me, I’m gonna go get Savvy so she can be outside too.

I don’t know if TKS was ever outside before she came to live at my castle. But I sure was outside way more than I wanted to be. So being outside hasn’t been at the top of my priority list, na’mean?? I spent enough time outside trying to fend for myself and it wasn’t pretty. But, Mom L offered me the decision to be outside with her.

What Mom L? I know the door is open.

I could feel the really fresh air and I knew there was no screen between me and that redwood deck.

I don’t know if I wanna go out. Been there, done that

I took my time thinking through my choices.

Oh alright. I’ll come outside and have a look see just to please TKS.

I knew TKS was gonna interrogate me once I went back downstairs, so I took a little “walk about”.

Hmmm…looks like the neighbors have some pretty flowers on their patio.

Mom L wasn’t expecting me to do a critique of our out doors area, but hey? She invited me out, right?

Mom L? What don’t we have any pretty flowers for me and TKS to enjoy on our patio?

Ok, ok—maybe I was to quick to judge. I know we haven’t been here that long and Mom L has been busy with other stuff. So I moved right along.

Wow! I can see the water even better from here! Is that a fishie I saw jumpin’??

No kidding, we have fish in our fresh water marina and people fish for the fishies all the time from their boat docks. Our water moves all day long with the tides from the two river delta area.

I was very relaxed being outside once again, much to Mom L’s relief and mine. I am growing in my confidence every day since we moved here. Why I even allowed one of Mom L’s friends to pet me last week. In fact, I INVITED her to join me on my our new living room area rug to rub my whole body, give me ear rubs AND I let her pet my tummy!! Yes, I really did!! That, my pals, is progress!!

Catching Up!

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I am getting back to my blog a little bit at a time, so I will post on Mondays and Fridays for a few weeks. Mom L and I sure have missed all my pals. I am even getting her to help me visit some of you but really hit and miss. Lots has been going on since I last posted on a regular basis. Nothing bad mind you, just a lot of stuff to do. I hoped I would be back after the July 4 US holiday but that just didn’t happen.

The boxes are finally ALL gone!

So I have been writin’ down some ideas for my next few blog posts and for sure I am gonna include several posts with Tips to Move Two Cats Successfully!!  Don’t miss these posts! After all, this was my third move and TKS’ second all within the last five years! I think I have some expert tips to share.

But we are done with that! Mom L and Dad P made sure this was the last move for all of us.

We home, right Dad P? I can feel it in my heart.

We have lots to share. Mom L and Dad P have been meeting lots of the neighbors on our street and even some in old town where we live. I wasn’t so sure I approved of the one photo Mom L showed me of one of our new old town neighbors, but hey—she was pretty darn cute!

HI!! My name is Marni!!! I’m only four months old! Wanna pet me??

Sorry for that out of focus photo but that pup wasn’t gonna sit still for Mom L’s slow reflexes!! MOL!!

I promise I’ll be sharing some of the photos of our move and how I inspected our new home with TKS right on my “six”! You will see what I mean next week.

Let me share one more photo that pretty much proves Mom L and Dad P selected an almost purrfect home for the four of us. This is the sunset the first night we stayed in our new home. And we are on river water that feeds our small marina area so we have lots of breezes and we can watch the tide come in and go out. Yes, we have tides on this water ‘cuz we are on the delta of the rivers that feed into San Francisco Bay. Isn’t life interesting?

Welcome home Savannah, Sage and Mom L and Dad P

Never had such sunsets before. See you this Friday for Friday Memes!
