Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Thank Cod for Fog!

I had a totally easy peasy HOOVER Thursday…thanks to our wonderful Bay Area Fog!  While Auntie Shannon did her HOOVER thing downstairs, I relaxed in my office window.

And because the morning started with fog, it was still cool even when the sun came out…so I sat in the window itself, not my bed…

…such a great neighborhood observation post…seriously…I can look down on my back yard, AND watch the street in front of our house.  Soooooo relaxing…that is until the yappy beagles from up the street came by my house…and they saw the sheltie across the street…

Oh My Cod!!! What a racket!!! Those little beagles have some seriously obnoxious(vocab builder) vocal chords…and the volume!!! aiiiieeeeeeyyyyiiiyiiii!!!…I had to cover my ears with my paws for a bit.

And the sheltie, what a little gentleman…he just wagged his tail and tried to calm the beagles…very entertaining I must say.  The key thing  to know is that I just sat right there, never moved, just watched and listened…(read: not scared!!)…

The other REALLY IMPAWTANT part of this post is that I ENTERED THE OFFICE, HOPPED UP ON THE GLORIOUS CAT BED COUNTER AND WINDOW COMBO…WHILE MOM WAS AT THE COMPUTER WORKING…

I have been napping in the office bed all along…but 4 months ago refused to stay when Mom or Dad entered, and would not come in if Mom was at our desk.  Now I come in to get a pet sometimes, but I don’t get in my bed…but Thursday, I snuck up to the window without her even knowing it and I stayed for about an hour, napped in the window…purrrrrrrrrrr…

    • Oh Alfie, too bad we can’t share our windows!! That would be pretty cool huh? And I am so happy you guys are getting your bloggy all sorted out, whew! It is hard, hard, hard…paw pats to all, Savvy

  3. Good for you Savannah! Paws forward on the progress! I agree with you about yappy beagles – we have two who live next door and they are TOO NOISY FOR ME (and my humans). Anyway, glad you are relaxing more and more and even putting up with the closet monster on cleaning day is getting easier! YAY!

    • Oh Katie! I have been trying to follow you for long time. Then Mom found this thingy in my Google acct called Reader, and boom, there you were! I wish you showed in my email but now I know to always look at Reader too. Paw pats to you, Savannah

  5. Next step is in the bed, on your back, wif legs splayed, while Mom posts about in your blog! HaHaMeow!

  6. We have dogs all over the place in this building! You’re right, the small ones have the annoying yaps.

Senile Saturday happens the last Saturday of the month. You let your humans post on your blog that day, if they agree not to bug you the rest of the month.

  7. You are doing so good Savannah and your progress sure makes me smile! I know what you mean about the yappy dogs, we got two next door and the yap at everything!

  8. Whee are soo proud of how brave you are getting! Keep up the good work! 🙂

  9. Hey Savvy, Big Guy here.

Paw pats for your amazing progress… not only did you keep Mom company for an hour, you performed your civic/journalistic duty as watch cat reporter. Could we be any prouder?

  10. Oh My Cat Savannah!! You are sooooo right about Beagles! They sure are cute, but, boy oh boy can they be loud!! I was covering my ears reading your post, just remembering how they howl and bay!!

We love you window – what a great spot for you to hang out!!

    • nice, huh?! I am really lucky to have such a window. Those beagles are pretty much a nuisance around our little neighborhood…unfortunately their Mom is not very considerate of her neighbors, or her dogs at least that is what we think

  11. Soooo….my brother Cody told me I had to come over and read this post….what’s this about a Sheltie living across the street??? BOL
Barks and licks and love, Dakota

    • oh yes! He is sort’a black and white with a bit of tan for accents…very cute, his huParents got him ’bout 2-3 years ago as puppy. They are retired and must walk him for miles about 6 times a day!!! You guys must have a ton of energy 🙂

  12. Next step: asking for pets in the window bed! It’s only a matter of time…

Good job sweet Savannah staying in the window and not being scared. We see you are good at sneaking into your bed while your mom is at the computer too. It was nice you got to enjoy some window time. Hugs and nose kisses
