Hiya! Savannah Here!
So a couple of things I did when Mom and Dad returned from being gone on their 700 year vacation to Mexico…
First…I did give Mom my back of disdain for about…ohhhh…ummmm…10 seconds…just long enough to sniff her fingers…decide it really was her…then I threw myself down on my side for her to administer much needed scritches and purrrred really loudly so she would think twice about going off again…
Now…here’s what I did when she sat on the couch for the first time the night they got back…
…yup, that is me, within reach of Mom ‘s hand without her even having to stretch…I always sit at the far end…with my backside toward her…I did turn away at first, but then I let her give me lots of scritches
…ummmm…missed your hand Mom…
…she sent me right to sleep…keeping one eye slit to make sure she stayed put…heh…heh
And then, she and Dad had to buy two more chairs for the dining table for Thanksgiving…before they left…and Mom tried to make a tent for me like Sammy has. I never got in the chair she put in our office before she left.
Then the first day she was back and working…she turned around…and guess where I was???…
…I was trying out that chair!!…I wasn’t sure at first, but then I liked it!!
Then I found the window sill…you already saw this, but it is something I did that was new…and brave…
…and I learned that I can just walk from the window ledge down to MY chair!…
…I have been very busy, making my list of planned posts for the next several days…I have been snoopervising Mom as she takes notes from me…
All in all, I think I have had a catgone good week since Mom and Dad got back! Lots of new behaviors…more exploring…

Speedy, you know, I feel badly sometimes because I really want that cuddle with my Dad, but I am still so scared around him…sigh
Wow Savvy……you’re just bold as brass there young lady! New stuff every day practically and I know you were as happy to have your parents back as they were to be back home with you. CONCATULATIONS on discovering the joys of a tent! I love mine…..especially the one in my Mom’s studio so I can keep an eye on her. I’m so glad you gave tenting/camping (!!) a try!

Hey Sammy, I actually wouldn’t get in the tent like thing she tried to make, but you can see the chair she has in our office has low arms and with the blue fleece on it, I feel secure like being in a box sort of…so for now, that works OK for me. Our office in this new house isn’t as big and so no room for a real stuffed chair but this is fine by me, paw pats, Savannah
I did something new, at least according to TW. She said I was laying up against for arm when she woke up! Snickers! Can you believe that? You sure you’re not all the way tamed now?
OMC! Cathy Keisha!! I know you aren’t gonna want to admit it, but I’m thinking you sort of found some warmth in TW’s arm in the night and just sort of migrated in that direction, like you would have as a little kitten to get warm from your Mama Cat…nothing personal, you are a tough ladycat from the hood, but…you were keeping warm
Love your header is shows off your beautiful self very nicely. Glad your parents are home and you are having fun exploring and doing new stuffs.

gosh Basil, thanks ever so much. I do have to eventually fess up to having some regression behavior going on to…I am more uneasy around Dad than I was a couple of months ago…don’t know why…sigh

I tell you Easy, if Mom and I had not done that before she went away for 700 years, I would NEVER have had a post all those years! But I helped plan them, and then we wrote them up, scheduled them on WP and IT WORKED!!! We wrote 9 posts in 3 days before she left.
Uh, well, Yeah I want another star!! Who wouldn’t want another star?? Uh, what are we lookin’ at, you know, bribe-wise?
hmmmm…well, I could always use another Peacock feather or two…just sayin’…and the “rules’ don’t say I can’t ADD someone after I post the receipt of the award, right???

oh my yes Brulee and Truffle, and I fear I have missed Brulee’s birthday?
It *is* wonderful to do new things. Even though I have been here a l-o-n-g time, I am surprising the Human lately by getting up in some places I didn’t used to go. Also, in the last few months, she is finding me more often on her bed during the night. Not snuggled up of course, but at least in the same zip code, MOL!

And I have always been in the same zip code since my first night with Dad and Mom…in fact, at night and early AM, are the only times, and only in our bed, that I am so affectionate with both of them…still don’t get “on” either of them…but am so wanting to be touched and be close…but in the daylight, yeah, well…not so much at all…what is with that????….
Glad your parents are back! Did they bring a gift (like salmon or trout)?

ummm, no, not really…just a large thingy called a “sailboat” which was sailing along the coast and Mom waved them down and Dad said…”oh, let’s buy that for Savvy”…MOL (believe that and I have a bridge in San Francisco I can sell ya for like cheap!!!)
Great job. I have never been a brave TT but since losing Zac and gaining the behemoth I have realised I can do so much more than I thought and I am not as scared.
I hope you continue to take baby steps and realise you are safe and brave.
oh Miss Zena, of course you are far more brave than you believe…trust me, I know a tid bit about this stuff…and I know you have the LARGE GIRL to deal with, but you are the SMART ONE…and Zac trained you, not ‘her’…so go forth and be with the ‘force’…paw pats, Savvy

Savannah, When my housekeeper comes back from a trip, I sit either on her, or on whatever she is trying to read. Well, I usually do that a fair amount anyway, but after a trip I do it a LOT more, to try and keep her where she belongs, here at my house, looking after me. Plus it’s to get her to pay attention to ME and not the olds papers that came while she was gone.

yeah, I do love my Mom…but Dad is really special too, I am just so afraid of men in general and when I need my claws trimmed, like every 5 weeks, Dad is the one who has to scruff me, then Mom clips, I never scratch or growl, but I am so terrified of being held by humans, that Dad then suffers from my fear of him for another month, then we repeat the whole process, so Dad never gets a break…I feel so badly.. but Mom can’t hold me tight enough by herself…you see…I am pretty..ummm…well, “built” for a ladycat…like I must have been a ladycat weight lifter in another life…

awwww…what a great play on acronym (VBP)!! I am really proud to have something for the holiday. And yes, scritches are magical for sure. BTW, tell Mom Janey she can come by and window shop anytime she wants at my former shelter, Kitty Corner…we have some really cool cats and adoptions are really slow right now…sad ears
