Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Thursday Garden…and Lots to be Thankful…

About being thankful…I am the mostest luckiest cat ever…I have a furrever home…with a Mom and Dad who make sure my every need is met…and I am so very thankful that the rest of my life will be spent in such kindness and caring and love…

morning 042413 1

My hope is that I can make my good fortune help other adult shelter cats and dogs also find their furrever homes…and even though I may not be overly “purrleased” about those scrawny little kittens who come to visit…yes…they were here again today…

…I know that finding them their furrever homes is very impawtant…and I know that we will do all we can to make that happen…

…today was a very thankful day for the little kitten on the left in the photo above…sweet Flower…the oldest…she was just being playful and she chewed off the tip of the nipple on the bottle…and we think she may have swallowed it.  Her Foster Mom, Miss Josie, rushed her to her vet clinic and Flower stayed the whole day…my Mom Linda picked her up and brought her to my home until her Foster Mom Josie could get her again…so far…so good…kittens are actually very delicate…Who Knew??!!

I join Pepi Smart Dog in a most thankful Thursday…purrlease click on the badge to find other pawsome Thankful Blog Posts…

…and my paws are crossed and my healing purrs are cranked to full force for my good furriend Texas‘ older brofur Milou…hoping he can overcome whatever is making him not eat…and feel so bad…

And my great joy is being able to continue to join my bestest furriend, Miss Jonesie, in my Society of Feline Gardeners Report…

Society of Feline Gardeners

Here is how my garden is growing so far…and there are so many plants Mom and I cannot even begin to know what they are…and of course…I always watch my garden so I can snoopervise Mom when she takes my photos for this special report for Jonesie…

…here are some shots of my blooming garden…we don’t know what some of them are…but we just luvluvluv them all!!…some even get to come inside for a visit…heh…heh…

Thanks so much for coming to visit…I know I have not been around to visit all of you…I can only do random visits…so very, very sorry…no excuses…I just don’t have my Mom’s full attention…sigh…

Well, as irritating as those fuzzballs are, I will purr that the kitten will not suffer any damage from the swallowed nipple-part! They *do* look awfully sweet and innocent–when they’re asleep, that is.

I am furry sorry to hear about Texas’s brofur–I will go visit shortly.

And honestly, i could not agree with your more about the Human’s attention being elsewhere. I’ve just about given up hope that it will get any better till after graduation. Sigh. XOXOXO

Savannah, those kittens are so cute…it’s hard not to like them. And your garden is beautiful! Ours is just now coming to life…Spring has really been slow getting here.

  9. That was a beautiful post Savannah and we are thankful you are so wise!

I love the babies there. Precious tiny angels so innocent and dear. I too hope they find their forever home. And you wrote a beautiful meaningful post. Thank you for it Savannah. By the way, I love seeing your feminine contours in those Pictish. XXXOOO

  11. Savannah this is a great post! You expressed your gratitude so well. Your garden is growing beautifully.

  12. Oh Savvy Oh Savvy How does your garden grow? it grows great! You’ve got so many beautiful plants and flowers…I’m sure you’re supervision is what does it

  13. Those babies are so very cute! Meowm especially squeals over the orange one, but we think that black one with frosted furs is kinda cute. We are so very glad that Flower is doing okay.

We enjoy flowers from afar for the most part. Meowm did get sent some orchids for her purthday, and some of them are still living, so we get to be around those when Meowm is home.

Hoep you are having a great day!

  14. You are sweet and thoughtful, Savvy. I think you learned it from your Mom. Baby kitties can be so much fun, but so scary sometimes when they do something dangerous and naughty. I hope they both find wonderful homes soon.

    Love and licks,

  15. I wish I had a pretty garden to be thankful for! My human can’t grow a thing, and the gardener just manages to keep what is already there alive.

  16. Beautiful flowers, Savannah. And those kitties are so lucky to be there with you and your Mom. Maybe you could keep one of them to help keep you having fun:)

  22. That’s a very touching post, Savannah. We had a “garden-thursday” today…it looks still like “the day after doomsday” in my back yard :o) Wish I had such a beautiful garden like you :o)

  23. Hi sweetie – nice list of things to be thankful for. M loves those little kittens, but I bet they are pesty when you have to live with them. So happy that one little is okay now – what a scare.

  24. Those are all great things to be Thankful for! We loved your garden collage!!

    The Florida Furkids

  26. We are grateful for each and every kitty, woofie and horsie who finds a good Forever Home! And we love your garden!

    The Chans

  27. Two of Mom’s favorite things…cats and gardens so a post combining both is the best! Your garden looks really beautiful. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  28. Great things to be thankful for Savannah! And those babies are so super cute! Your garden is looking lovely too… looks like you have some Gerber daisies, we have some of those too.

What a nice post sweet Savannah. We hope the little kitten is going to be just fine. Your garden is looking really nice. You sure have a nice place to view your beautiful garden. You all have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs and nose kisses

  30. As much as I love gardens, I think the most wonderful thing growing on your bloggie today are the kittens! Squeeeeee!

Your garden is lovely! I recognize Jerusalem Sage. We have that in our front yard but it’s not quite blooming yet. Soon….we love the pretty yellow blooms.

    xoxo Jonesie

  31. Love your garden Savvy!xx Speedy

  32. Those little kitties are supercute! Hope that Flower is doing ok!

  33. Hi, Savannah! We bet your mom helps you visit as often as she possibly can. Humans get busy with all sorts of stuff. That’s okay as long as they don’t forget what’s most important…US! Our HuMom says sometimes she just has nothing to add to a conversation so she hopes clicking on the blog and reading it is enough. If there’s a like button she hits it to show she visited but had nothing to add. We sorta wish she’d have nothing to say when we are fanging the furniture, (Hitch) or cursing the kitchen counters, ( the Ginger Twins). Or she could even try this quiet thing on the iPad, instead of letting it know when the auto correct turns in to auto incorrect! So anyway, HuMom says to cut your Mom a break and give her lots of cuddles. We’ll have to agree with her on that. After all a cuddle given is a cuddle gotten. We are glad the kitten is alright. They sure can get in to a whole lot. Trust me, I know. Back in 2008 the Ginger Twins showed up and stayed in June and then Hitch showed up without any warning in December. I had 3 boy kittens and they seemed to be everywhere and in everything. They sure do keep a house jumping that’s for sure. But remember, it’s your duty to tell them what’s up when their around. No kitten ever suffered from a little plain hissin’, and a swat or two when they get out of line. You gotta make sure they know who runs things, else they think it’s the Humans! Silly kids!,
    Mistletoe & Hitch

    • LMFTO!! you are so, so right Mistletoe…and I did give that one black kitten, Flower, the hiss of her short life!! Scared Mom and Flower’s Foster Mom Josie!!…heh…heh. And thanks for your support about our poor visit and comment record lately; but we know how much we love hearing from my furriends and so I know they like to hear from me too. I just don’t know how I got so far behind for so long…sigh…pads off to hit the keyboard again…

  34. Hi Savvy! Nice to hear from you……those kitties are just so cute and we hope little Flower can keep her teefies from biting off the end of the bottle again! EEK! Your garden photos are quite beautiful…how nice that you can fill the house with those pretty things as WELL as enjoying them from the inside looking out!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

    • Hi Sammy! So far, Flower is doing just fine. Eating, peeing and pooping…and jumping all over the younger two! And those flowers from the garden…the tall purple ones called Iris…Mom just learned that when the bloom is dying, it sucks up a lot of water and then drips PURPLE, dark PURPLE, all over the carpet!!! Yup, had to pick Mom up off the floor when she found it. All she could think was “aiiieeee I don’t own this carpet!!”…sigh

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
