Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

A Secret Revealed…

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!

Yup, Mom is still gone so the posts are short ones…lots of photos…she seems to be taking a side trip now that Blog Paws is over…somethin’ about a tiny biped she calls a “great niece”…whatever….

Frankly, I would think comin’ home to me was like way more impawtant; but apparently that is a big NO!!…harrummppff!

So, I thought I would share a little secret about Mom…ahem, well…it’s about me too…but mostly Mom.  You see, when I first came to live here…the only part of my body I would let her touch even just a little was my tail…figured it was far enough away from the rest of my body I could make a run for it if I didn’t like what she was doin’.

Truth be known now…Mom totally is in love with my tail!  Who knew!!???  She strokes it, gives it smoochies and sometimes we sit on the couch at night and I let her hold it for me while I nap…

photo3

I make some biskits and she holds my tail…nice for both of us…it can get tiring for a cat holding that tail up all day long…nice to have Mom hold it and pet it for me…puts me right to sleep….

That’s my Sunday Easy…

Well, it is a pretty good lookin’ tail. No wonder your mom loves it so.

  4. Mum loves to stroke our tails too.

  5. Tail petting is a good thing, Savvy. I know you’ll have it ready for Mom once she gets home!

  6. You are very good to let Mom hold your tail, Savannah. We are all very sensitive about our tails, but we do let Mom touch it. She says it is important for us to allow her to touch all parts of our bodies. We really do like it when she rubs our tummies or scratches our ears:)

  7. Whee are very jealous! Whee don’t have tails. Don’t worry, your Mummy will be home soon to see your tail!

  8. Hee hee, that’s cute! I pet Leo’s tail a lot too, he seems to like it!

  9. We wonder when she’ll encroach on the rest of your real estate!

You have a lovely tail Savannah. Mum likes to hold my tail too when we go to bed. I face downwards and put it on the pillow beside her.

  11. Savvy, I reckon your mom will be up for quite a bit of tail holding when she’s home 🙂 xx

  12. Hey, if it works for ya, who cares? Different strokes for different folks, we say! Happy sunday!

  13. I am very particular about my tail – not just anybody can touch its magnificence! BTW, my human was so happy to finally meet your human in person at BlogPaws!

  14. Awwwww….. I wonder if June Buggie would let me hold his tail….. maybe between my teeth?

Two weeks ago I used my tail to pat at the banana my housekeeper was eating! So a tail is not just for dusting! Your friend, Dinah RWB (reader without blog.)

Mom has her nerve not coming straight home to you. Sorry that you have to easy without her today. Mommy also likes our tails. She pets us starting at the top of our heads and goes to the tip of our tails. We like that. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  17. May I say, your tail is stunning! Mom tells me I have a monkey-tail. It is NOT stunning. I can see why your Mom wants to honor that gorgeous thing!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  18. Savvy thats a great way to get your fluffy duster looked after! It’s not easy for a kitty to have to dust things all day and then be expected to carry the fluff duster around.Pickles has a very very long fluff duster and she has to reel it in like a fishing line to clean it..:)

  19. Your Mom will be home soon, Savvy!

You’re a good girl to let her hold your tail. There’s no tail-holding around here. Even Newton’s irresistibly luxurious tail is for human observation purposes only, or out come the airplane ears.

  20. Your mum will be home soon!me I’m having lots of fun on my holiday!xx Speedy

  21. I think all bipeds like the tailmometers :o) So they know alsways first if it is cold outside :o)Hope you mom is back soon :o)

  22. Hi Savvy…..our tails are a very purrrsonal part of our bodies and I like to wrap my tail around my Mom’s arm to hold her close – I use my tail to hold on to her while I sleep in her lap. So when you let your Mom touch and hold your tail it was a very special thing which you’re STILL letting her do – I think that’s lovely!!!!

Happy Sunday and I’m sure your Mom misses you like you miss her.

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  23. Well Savannah, you do have a lovely tail. I allow my HuMom to give my tail a small tug when getting full body pets. She’s used Hitch’s tail like a handle on a couple of occasions when he’s dashed out the door. Once she grabbed it as he was headed up a tree. She actually jumped for it that time. She had visions of him stuck up a tree for a third time and it gave her wings. She just couldn’t face the idea of the entire neighborhood gathered round, looking to the sky, trying to see a gray and white kitty who had crawled in to some poor squirrels nest. He’s been real sensitive about his tail ever sense. But, did he learn his lesson, you might ask? Absolutely, positively, NOT. He seems to be trying to escape to be with Nylablue. Ever sense they went camping, he’s been smitten. So if you hear a cat crying, remember to look up!

  24. I let huMum hold my tail for me when I wash it everynight and if she forgets I wave it in her face! xxx’s

  25. Have a wonderful Easy sweet Savannah, Mom will be home before you know it!
