Where To Take A Dedded Toy?

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I like to make sure my schmousie toys are dedded…but I most certainly do NOT drag them around trying to decide where to nom on them…sheeeessshhh!

Gotcha my pretty schmousie! *rip, tear, kick*

Gotcha my pretty schmousie! *rip, tear, kick*

When I had that schmousie dedded, I walked away like any other cat. But not so The Kid Sage. She has one favorite toy, a wand toy with an itty bitty schmousie on it which she insists on carting off as though it is her ‘kill’ to take back and nom on.

TKS seems to ignore the fact that usually is tripping over the wire that attaches to the wand. And just listen to her talking away to that poor little schmousie she is covering in her slobber…

TKS: “Where shall I take you? Maybe by the human foot wipe where I always take any food from my food dish I can’t quite get my mouth around.”

Are you edible or are you wipeable?

Are you edible or are you wipeable?

TKS: ” Nope, this doesn’t seem just right. Perhaps over to my feeding station as an MRE.”

Will you fit in my food dish?

Will you fit in my food dish?

TKS: “Still not just the place for us to be alone together. Maybe I can save you for later?”

*paw, paw...dig, scrape*

*paw, paw…dig, scrape*

TKS: ” MICES!! Oh, sorry little schmousie, no pun, no, no…truly. I would never make fun of you. Let’s go back to the beginning.”

We started here...*chomp*

TKS: “And then I gently cradle you in my mouth to carry you away to spend ‘quality’ time with me…sorry I had to have that little taste test before our journey to my kitchen…”

Maybe just a little taste before I take you away

Maybe just a little taste before I take you away

TKS: “This is getting to be a tough decision little schmousie…what to do with you…now that I have you all to myself…”

Who knew life held such difficult decisions?

Who knew life held such difficult decisions?

TKS: “What Mom L?? No, no…I most certainly DID NOT harm my schmousie. What? Well, yeah…its a teeny bit damp”

Is there a problem?

Is there a problem?

TKS: “No one understands our relationship little schmousie. It is so special. How can we have quality time together when everyone follows us around?”

We may never get to be alone together...sigh

We may never get to be alone together…sigh

TKS: “Let’s just sit here, together, and ponder our future.”

I will protect you from all others little schmousie

I will protect you from all others little schmousie

There you have it. TKS has a weird relationship with that little schmousie. Thankfully, I have never had nor ever will have such a weird relationship with some schmousie…right?

A Moment of Shared Bird Watching

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

We had some really nice, warmish weather this week so window whiffies were finally offered to us. The humans opened the slider doors in the kitchen and the great big one in my our living room. Bird and squirrel TV had stupendous reception and fascinating programming that day!

Feels like someone is watching over my shoulder. Naaawww...couldn't be...

The birds were flying all over the yard; from feeding station to feeding station. We even had lots of hummers.

Whoa! Look at that hummer dive bomb the finch!

I sat there enjoying the regularly scheduled programming. But all the while, I kept feeling another presence.

Now the House Finches are running everyone off the seed feeder...heh...heh...competition

Again, I felt a need to look over my shoulder; but the action was too exciting to take my attention away from outside.

Hey Savvy!! Look at those squirrels chasing each other!!

Hey Savvy!! Look at those squirrels chasing each other!!

Then I heard The Kid Sage, TKS, shout out my name as she darted across the living room to get a better look at some silly squirrel episode which I am sure was likely a re-run. That’s when I KNEW I was right all along…someone WAS behind me!

Hisssssss...I let her know I knew she was there but all she left behind was a glimpse of her tail

Hisssssss…I let her know I knew she was there but all she left behind was a glimpse of her tail

Thus ended our ‘unknown’ to me ‘shared’ bird watching and window whiffing.

Morning Stare Down…Who Won?

Hello All…Mom Linda Here

I took over the blog post today because neither of the girls can do justice to describing the scene I happened upon yesterday morning. I was headed out of my bedroom to go downstairs to collect my ice pack, heat pack etc. As I stepped out of my door to the upstairs landing this was the scene I encountered.

TKS Nana stare down ed

In a flash I grabbed my iPad to try to get a decent photo to share with all of you. Sage can peer through the window on the landing into the guest bedroom across the landing. Of course, it works both ways…Nana can peer back at Sage.

This was a classic cat stare down with Sage looking just like a bird dog on point having seen a bird (which is what I first thought she was watching on the roof outside…HA!). Then I looked across to see Nana in her meatloaf pose literally giving Sage her best Nana Stink Eye…she was glaring out of the corner of her eyes, they were sort of just slit open enough to allow a really good stink eye.

Nana Stink Eye

I realized this photo is over adjusted and blurry. Here’s hoping none of Nana’s readers who are expert photographers see this (embarrassed ears on Mom Linda) but I wanted to share that infamous ‘Nana Stink Eye’. But wait! Is that for TKS or ME!!!????

Once I took a photo, I had a silent chuckle all the way downstairs!

Who do you think blinked first?

Have a wonderful weekend, Mom Linda
