Boxing Day without Boxes

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

As you can see from these photos, we, sadly, did not have any boxes to save to play in on Boxing Day. The disappointing truth is that Mom L ordered a glorious new artificial tree online. It arrived late but Dad P got it all set up and it  was indeed splendid. Then as they were on their last thirty minutes “fluffing” the branches, the already included tree lights went out and never came back on!!

So that tree was returned and Dad P got out our old standby, purchased over ten years ago for only $25 USD!! And that little tree is standing in my living room, without any prezzies, or  decorations but its lights are working!!

We were all still working community cat rescue and trap, neuter, return challenges right up to Christmas Eve. So not much got done for the holidays around here. But Dad P got out our stockings and Mom L hung hers and Dads on the tree. And of course, that attracted Domino as this is his very first Christmas tree!! He has already joined Katie in sampling the artificial tree leaves—ICK! But once something was hanging on that tree! Well it got his total attention!

Here he is on tippy toes checking out the inside of the tree.

Of course he doesn’t think anyone could see him!! MOL!!! Then he decided to sit back on his haunches to rethink his tree inspection strategy (aka trying to learn how those stockings were attached!).

Then he thought he outta give a look further inside the tree. And of course, he assumed no one would notice him. Can you see where his head is? Let me know in comments. He is certain you cannot see him.

Now he is ready to inspect exactly how those stockings are really hanging on this tree. So’s he sticks his head out and has a look see.

He just cannot stand it any further and must stick his head all the way out to get a really good look. Still thinkin’ no one can see what he is doing!!!

That’s how we spent our Christmas Eve. Christmas Day Mom L and Dad P went to a movie and Mom L finally got my Secret Santa Paws packages ready to mail. I am soooooooooo embarrassed that my package is going to be so very late. But, cat rescue comes first in my castle. Do you have any Christmas tree peepers in your home??

Monday at my castle

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Well I didn’t get my Friday Memes for Friday Smiles post up last Friday. Ya’ wanna know why?? Of course it has to do with my typist letting other things take first place in her attention; instead of putting me front and center. Harrummppff!

So this is what Mom L and Dad P were doing that kept me from getting my post up last Friday.

Yup! That’s right. Rescuing these two wee ones kept Mom L and Dad P pretty busy. But now they are safe with another foster; thank ceiling cat they are not being fostered in my castle!! Enough is enough ya’ know!! We will follow them through being adopted, I promise!

Now for Monday meowsie news! The Domino Kid aka Domie, is really getting comfy in my castle. As long as he stays away from my food, my treats, my Mom L, my side of the bed and my side of the couch—he can stay. I don’t even mind if he borrows some nap time on my special Miss Peggy Martin pink blankie when I am not using it to keep warm while I watch TV with Mom L at night.

He is long gone when I am ready to use my winter blankie. Domie has decided that people food is also Domie food. HAH!! Dad P has to keep a sharp eye on his plate when he sometimes uses his dinner tray at night.

And the kid was fascinated when Dad P got our fireplace cranked up for the first time in Domie’s life!

Can’t wait to watch the fun when they put up our Christmas tree in a few weeks! Now THAT is gonna be a real fun blog post!!!

Is there room for me in the castle????

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I decided to let The Domino Kid talk with my loyal readers—just this once!!! He seems to be struggling with just where his place is when it comes to serving in my castle guard. Sheesh!! Like I have to explain everything to him.

Go on Kid, this post is your time to fly high!! So write already!!!

Oh hey! Hi everyone!! *waves paw* Thanks for lettin’ me hop in here Savvy—oh, errr, ummm—Your Highness. So everybody, I am tryin’ and tryin’ to find my special place in Princess Savvy’s castle. First, I thought I outta, like, ya know—hang out in all those cardboard boxes that just never seem to stop comin’ here. I thought maybe I could test out each one to find one Her Highness will really enjoy.

But then Princess Savvy tried to put a mailing label on the box I was in, with a “do not return” stamped on it!!! So, I guess I cannot be her Very Special New Box Tester and Guard.

Next up I tried out for Ambassador for our current foster, Binky aka Reesie.

I went into her private suite, Mom L’s office, and I tried to talk down with her to help her understand just where she fits into this castle stuff. But Princess Savvy told me to knock it off and get busy helping Binky get more confident so’s she can get adopted and outta of the royal castle and into her own home. Sigh—guess I did that wrong too.

Then I tried to guard Princess Savvy from the top of the cat tower in our living/dining room. Sadly, I did not realize that this is the very special nesting place for TKS when the afternoon sun comes in. Darn it!! Then I tried to make myself helpful by claiming the breakfast tray Dad P uses to bring up Mom L’s coffee and Princess Savvy’s remaining brekkies. I wanted to protect the tray from being used for anything else!! Nope! That didn’t work either.

I finally had to have a heart to heart chat with Princess Savvy. I let her know how hard I am trying to fit in and be of service. She agreed that I was trying really hard. So she allowed me a ten minute nap right next to her on her special couch, which is her downstairs throne.

So what can I do to help Princess Savvy get more comfy with me, so’s I can find my very own special places in her castle???? You have all known Her Highness far longer than me, please give me some tips in comments. Thanks lots, Domie aka Domino aka The Domino Kid.

I am gonna ask Princess Savannah to say good bye like she always does!
