Ambassador Katie at work

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I am not sure if I have ever told you all what an ambassador our Katie is whenever we have a kitty guest in Mom L’s office. Katie is always the kitty to sleep on  the bedding Mom L leaves at her closed office door. Katie sends her pawsitive soothing energy to the kitty guest to help them adjust to our household noises and whatnot.

We have a new kitty guest, Gigi. She is in a six cat colony at a city equipment lot where there are lots of park equipment, trucks and such. Mom L and Dad P noticed she went missing a couple weeks ago and they found her at the area where they have our Delta View Cats food pantry. Anyways, they could tell that Gigi was injured. The photo is not great but you can see her furs are a mess on her neck.

Anyways, Gigi’s story will come to you later. The heart warming story I am sharing today is about Ambassador Katie. Gigi is living in a comfy cage in Mom L’s office. Recovering from her abscess treatment 10 days ago. So to help her on her journey to socialization and healing, I suggested they open Mom L’s door and let us kitties come visit. Of course TKS and KK were front and center!!

Katie shushed TKS when Sage started her low growl. Katie was totally focused on making Gigi feel welcome and safe.

Mom L? Tell TKS to leave please. I need to comfort Gigi.

Gigi knew quickly that Katie was no threat. Gigi even showed Katie her tummy!! (hover cursor over photo to view comments)

After only three days in my castle, Gigi is starting to think she just might show off a teeny bit of her REAL SELF!

Unfortunately, Mom L discovered that one of  precious Gigi’s abscesses is back. She will have to go to emergency tomorrow. Purrs and POTP for our sweet kitty house guest Gigi.

Trap a cat? Not easy!

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

So Mom L is trying to trap this bootiful long hair dainty feisty calico gal at a colony we just started to manage. Her name is Baby and she is a kitty cat bully!! Yep! Sorry to say, there is often one in every colony no matter how big or small that colony is. And Baby is all fluffy furs and probably weighs in at about five pounds tops!! But she sure is the queen of this little six kitty colony.

Mom L set the trap and waited to see how Baby would react.

You can see that Baby gave that trap a very wide birth! She wasn’t so sure about why the heck it was placed near her treasured food bowl! You see Baby is not only a bully to a couple of the other cats, she is also a TOTAL FOODIE!! Mom L thought for sure she would dive right after that yummy sardine bait. HAH!!

Baby checked out that trap, all around and then did one of those “See ya, wouldn’t wanna be Ya!!” moves!!!

Mom L is gonna go back and hopes that she can trap Baby and find a foster to help assess her ability to be socialized. She is such a lovely cat, and she truly isn’t feral. Let’s hope Baby realizes that we are tryin’ to give her an opportunity for a forever indoor home!

Do you trap for TNR? Or also trap to try to bring some potential friendlies inside?  Let us know what your experiences are in comments.

Hope everyone’s Valentines Day was filled with the love our park colony boys showed us with their little “taileo message”!! You can show some love  to our colony cats by visiting our Amazon Wish List. We are very desperate for wet food and for a couple of shelters for our colony cats at a local waterfront park.

Katie takes over

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

So I had to admit, that even though KK was “not being the most well mannered kitty” she does deserve a post just about her…’cuz she didn’t break that handmade glass platter Mom L picked up on a consulting gig in Krakow Poland!!

So Mom L went over to close those drapes so as to not let our strong sun come in, even in Winter, to fade out our artsy fartsy stuff. And what the heck did she get as a surprise??? Katie lounging one our buffet, with her body wrapped around an irreplaceable  piece Mom L brought back from one of her consulting gigs in Krakow, Poland!!

And then Mom L saw an opportunity to capture KK in the setting sunlight, amongst the lovely golden hews of our oak buffet, the Krakow art glass and sweet KK’s lovely colors.

Hope you enjoy viewing my darling little sisfur KK. She is a delight to all—except me when she tries to sniff my butt or taileo!! Sheesh!! Give an older girl some privacy kiddo!!
