Monday at my castle

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Well I didn’t get my Friday Memes for Friday Smiles post up last Friday. Ya’ wanna know why?? Of course it has to do with my typist letting other things take first place in her attention; instead of putting me front and center. Harrummppff!

So this is what Mom L and Dad P were doing that kept me from getting my post up last Friday.

Yup! That’s right. Rescuing these two wee ones kept Mom L and Dad P pretty busy. But now they are safe with another foster; thank ceiling cat they are not being fostered in my castle!! Enough is enough ya’ know!! We will follow them through being adopted, I promise!

Now for Monday meowsie news! The Domino Kid aka Domie, is really getting comfy in my castle. As long as he stays away from my food, my treats, my Mom L, my side of the bed and my side of the couch—he can stay. I don’t even mind if he borrows some nap time on my special Miss Peggy Martin pink blankie when I am not using it to keep warm while I watch TV with Mom L at night.

He is long gone when I am ready to use my winter blankie. Domie has decided that people food is also Domie food. HAH!! Dad P has to keep a sharp eye on his plate when he sometimes uses his dinner tray at night.

And the kid was fascinated when Dad P got our fireplace cranked up for the first time in Domie’s life!

Can’t wait to watch the fun when they put up our Christmas tree in a few weeks! Now THAT is gonna be a real fun blog post!!!

Help make a Happy Tail Ending

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Ok my pals. I have a great big humongous favor to ask. Please share, share, share our current foster juvenile kitten, now five months old, darling Binky! And yes, I so loved my blogging pal Angel Whisperer’s writer, sweet Binky, that I borrowed her name to continue to remember her in my heart. Originally, we named this darling kitten Licorice. And Mom L started calling her “Reesie” as an acronym of the last four letters of her name “rice”. Anyway, once we posted her on several adoption portals, we quickly learned that the kitty’s name draws attention as much as her photos. So we renamed “Reesie” to Binky just last week. Getting juveniles adopted is a real challenge given that so many adopter are looking for “kittens”. Little do they know that our juveniles are already taught to use the litter box, not use their claws or mouths/teeth when playing with soft skinned humans etc. !!

So here is Binky! She is a gorgeous medium long haired black house panther. She has tufts in her ears and one her paws and her tummy!

Can you see how intent her eyes are? And isn’t her sweet round face just so cute you just wanna smooch it!

Binky is really stepping out now and so enjoys human interaction through wand play. And she loves showing off her tummy furs.

Friday’s Child

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

“Friday’s child is loving and giving.” Children born on a Friday are thought to be affable, loving, and generous. I think this can also mean that any abandoned kitten that is trapped on Friday is also loving and giving, don’t ya think that outta be right too?

You see, my our nonprofit that Mom L and Dad P manage, Delta View Cats, has incredible volunteers. We do lots of things to try and help humanely manage our city of Pittsburg’s overpopulation of abandoned community cats. We feed about fifty kitties all around our marina and waterfront park. Now this park had a colon of cats numbering about thirty-five in 2017. We have worked to get friendly kitties adopted and now the colony stabilized in 2019 to twelve adult cats. Since 2017 to Spring 2021, no cats nor kittens were abandoned at this park. It was a common dumping ground for over ten years, since about 2005.

Unfortunately, from Spring of 2021 to now, October, 2022, Delta View Cats volunteer colony caretakers/feeders have found forty dumped kittens at this park!!

We feed once a day at this park and our Friday colony caretakers went early before feeding time, intent on trapping this little kitten that was sighted about eight days before. They found she was sleeping in one of our shelters and plotted to catch her on her exit in the early morning using a fishing net!! SUCCESS!!!! Miss Elaine and Mr. Bobby feed on Friday’s so they named this little three pound two ounce girl “Friday”!!

She was skinny and her long furrs were matted and dirty. And boy was she hissy at first. She tried to climb outta her cage and she huddled in a corner.

She met a buddy at station three feeder, Hercules, and he must’a showed her how to survive in this park with raccoons, owls and unkind loose dogs. Miss Elaine and Mr Bobby volunteered to foster little Friday, whom they named after the day of the week that they always feed and it is also the day they were finally successful in snagging her!! YAY FOR FRIDAY!!

She got over being hissy really quickly and Mom L just had to go visit and hold her.

You can see her furrs are not groomed and she has had a weepy eye so she is getting treated with eye drops our retired DVM pal Doc Josie ordered. And she loves to be brushed and groomed and takes her eye med just fine. She is getting dewormed and will soon be weighing in at four pounds!!! WOO HOO!!!

Isn’t she just gorgeous!! Did you notice her incredible white LONG whiskers!
