Seconds in a Cat’s Life: Attraction, Action and Distraction

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Some days it’s just enough to be able to hang out by an open sliding door, getting outdoor whiffies, pondering life and giving Mom L some play time with me. Keeps her satisfied even though I clearly had other things on my mind.

What's up there?

Oh, feather time...I'll give it a swat for you Mom L

Wait! Something moved in the corner of my eye…

Things change in a flash my pals. Don’t let a moment go by that you do not let all your furriends know how much you appreciate them and always be sure to give your humans the attention they need. You have plenty of time to get back to watchin’ what’s goin’ on in your garden.

Having said that; let me tell each and every one of you who come by to read my blog whether you have time to comment or not…I appreciate you a whole bunch.

peeEss…thanks a ton and a half to all of you who helped me, Silver (Dash Kitten) and Nerissa (Nerissa’s Life) promote the breakout smash hit cat rescue book Rescued: The Stories of 12 Cats, Through Their Eyes. Our AdventurCat pal Nerissa is one of the 12 authors who are all Real Rescue Cats Talking. As you know, throughout the month of April, a portion of all sales of the book will go to the wonderful Anjellicle Cats Rescue of New York, helpin’ them to help save cats’ lives. That rescue is one that is near and dear to Nissy’s heart, even though he lives in Nova Scotia and they do their work in New York City.

A Princess in Her Castle

HIYA!! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

Some might say I am spoiled. Others might say I am privileged. And even more might say I am royalty. I prefer to go with the last perception.

I am, HRH Savannah, the Princess of my Castle. I don’t think I need say more, right??? (be sure to hover over photos to view complete captions, paw pats, S)

Yes, I most always have my dinner served in the living room. The Kid Sage simply cannot keep her jaws off my dinner.

And who would deny a royal Princess her well deserved scritches, occasional tummy rubs and whatnot?

And Mom L always makes sure my scratcher  is fully loaded with my fave nip…then I can just zone, zen out…..ahhh…

My life has not always been that of a Princess. Many of you have seen this photo before. And you will see it again as I continue to journal, here on my blog, about my recovery from kittenhood trauma. I am a survivor; but only just barely. This is my intake photo at the local kill shelter where I was dropped by humans who did not leave any information as to whether or not I was feral; stray or just an abandoned, no longer wanted house cat.

I believe I have earned the right to my royal castle. And Mom L and Dad P could not agree more. They will forever protect me and even if that means making sure I have my own time and space to have my meals free from worry about whether or not The Kid Sage will take away my food.

I am HRH Princess Savannah; I am safe

I Can’t Get No Relaxation!

HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I know you all know that The Kid Sage is fascinated with my very presence (Click the paw symbol to read earlier post...paw_15px.jpg)

Alas, once again, I have had to endure her scrutiny. I try to relax; and ‘she’ on the other paw sets up a Watch Tower above me…always above…

Sage watches Savvy

Gosh, look at HRH Savvy…just relaxin’…nice and warm…sigh…wish I could snuggle with her

I know, I know…you all are gonna side with TKS. And yes, I wish I could accommodate her. But I had to defend myself from many dominate cats when I was ‘in the wild’ so to speak. It continues to appear that I was at least a stray adult cat; and that I had to defend myself from aggressive males and some females to get food and avoid being attacked. I believe I can learn; in fact, I already have. In case you were not with me three years ago, I have made incredible progress and continue to change.

I so hope one day I can win her trust

I so hope one day I can win her trust

Seriously, look at me; knowing TKS is ‘above’ me…and yet there I am…relaxin’…

I am an ‘Adult Rescue Cat Making a Difference’ for myself and others.  Join me on my journey.
