Flirty Cat Routine…
Hiya Savannah Here!!!
All you cats know this routine, and I suspect some of you dogs do too….it’s what we do when we wanna sort’a flirt with or preen for our peeps. ooohhh…come’on you guys…you know we ALL DO THIS!!!
Especially when we want more attention…or I have heard some cats and dogs do this routine when they know they have commited an error and wanna try to make up or even (GASP!!) cover up…I, of course, don’t ever do anything I must cover up…(whispers behind paw, ‘that’s because I am too scared”)
Mom walks in the bedroom…I am on the bed…she does that little stupid thing I can’t resist…yup, she starts singing to me…
…Mom?…oh, hi!…awww…that sounds so soft….and nice….mmmm….
…oh shucks!!!…now she is singing “Little girl…whirly girl……” (so naturally, I whirl around..)
…”little twirly pearly girl”…oh cat!…she thinks I am all pearly like….see my white??…oh gosh…sniff, sniff…must clean….!!!!!!
…ick!…it must have been my toesies that smelled weird!…lick, lick, lick…”little girl….”
…”whirly girl…”…oh, no…look at that hind foot!!…what a mess!…
…”little twirly pearly girl”…AIIEEEYIYIYI…gotta get into my Rabbit Splits yoga postion to get to the back of this foot…chew, chew, bite, bite…ewwww nasty!!!…..
…got the toesies and the footsies…oh no…it’s the chest…ummppffff…can’t quite reach with my tongue…a little help here PUUUUHHHLEASE!….
…”little twirly whirly girl”….awww…I gotta get my face clean for Mom..she is singing so nice to me…mmmffff…behind the ears…
…Oh My Cat!!!…just look at that tail!!..there must 5 hairs out of place!…I must have order in my tail!!!…nudge, shove, lick, lick….
…ok, there…I feel much, much better…such hard work keeping all my lush fur tidy and in place…aaahhhh..what?..Oh no!!!….
…another piece got messed up…it’s so untidy…lick, lick…

Oh Savvy, Big Guy here.
You are just a hoot. Yup, Pluffy does that (well, these days, more Puffy than Fluffy!) JJ has a thingie about her paws and inspects and cleans them multiple times a day.
Me, I let Mom do most of the grooming… unless… uh… I have itchies… Savvy, yup, it happens… there are so many biting thingies here in the tropics…
You look so lovely, adorable really… Mom is still smiling…

My mom doesn’t sing to me very much, but two of our vet techs made up a song for me – they sang it to me in “the back” and then did it for my mom to hear. It goes to the tune of that “Chim-Chimeny” song. Ahem. “Zim-Zimeny, Zim-Zimeny, Zim Zim Zaroo, you are a husky and you say ‘HA ROO’!” It was brilliant; I just love it!

Oh Miss Savannah!
You look so beautiful in your pictures. You keep you lovely blue/gray hair so shiny and soft looking. My mom said to tell you that she’ll email your mom soon. Tomorrow, most likely. I saw in one post that you’re considering honoring your mom by curling up in her lap. I know this is a big step and more than a little bit scary. It’s hard to be sure of humans because they are so unpredictable. Just when your about to take that step, a door slams, or someone makes that “Yooohooo” sound. So what I did was, one night, while my mom was sleeping, with that whistley sound she makes, I very carefully stepped onto her chest and curled up with my head under her chin. I was careful not to wake her, but toward morning, when she started to wake up, she slowly became aware of my purring. So she reached out carefully, and turned off the alarm. We got a late start that morning, but now I sleep there whenever I want. She even puts down her book so I can get comfortable. So, take your time, but when your ready, you know the right way for you and your mom.

Oh My Cat!!! Is King Spitty OK??? I just watched him in the Real HouseCats episode, I would never want to have caused him harm…he is so, ummm…ahhhhh…oh, yeah…kingly catish…and….well, I really, really like his long elegant bushy tail…mmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh Miss Scylla, I know how hard it is to lose weight. I could lose 2 lbs and look much better. Mom and Dad have my meals very regimented and measured, and I play more and run all over the house playing “pretend chase” by myself…but I still weith 13 lbs. I have a bit of a tummy hanging down…sigh…let’s encourage each other on our weight loss, ok Scylla…I really think you are so beautiful…sending purrrrsss
