Hiya! Savannah Here!
Lots of stuff to share about what I have been doing that is new or different this past week…
- Mom was cleaning in the powder room downstairs(that’s a little room with just a sink and a toilet for guests), and I hopped up on the counter to snoopervise! She was shocked! I NEVER EVER hop up on counters in the bathrooms…(and I think she may have left a little spot on the mirror, but it was my first snoopervising job, so I’ll let her go this time)
- Mom and I were playing hot and heavy with Da Bird…I was on my Bird Watching Tower in the living room, right next to the dining room…and I got so excited I flew off the tower to the floor, then ran to the dining table and hopped up on one of the chairs…I NEVER EVER do that…I was so amazed, I stopped playing and had a little look around…then Mom played with me while I was in the chair…
- …then I decided as long as I was in the neighborhood…I outta check out the dining table too….so I strolled across the table…you should have seen the look on Mom’s face!! MOL!…I NEVER EVER get on the dining table
- Oh yeah…I now have a new job…we didn’t know what to call it, but Miss Trish, over at Katnip Lounge gave me my new job title...STAIRCASE TROLL…the job requires that I take up as much space as possible on one stair so Dad and Mom have to walk around me and also not trip over me or fall off the stair themselves…
- I have a basket of toys in our bedroom…the cats before me had one too and they would take toys out to play with…so Mom has been hoping I would learn to explore my toy basket and pick out my own toys…and I DID!!!
- And I am starting to come back to our office…I walk over to the counter with my bed on it and hop up while Mom is working… but I have also started to stake out a spot just outside our office where I nap while Mom works…(that’s of course when I am NOT working my Staircase Troll job)…
(sorry for Mom’s footsie and leg in the mirror closet door…MOL)
- Finally…this is not NEW about ME…but Mom, Dad and I are going to move to a new home in September…and here are a couple of photos of the front and back…it is called a “Town Home”…not sure why…guess ‘cuz it’s in a town. It is only about 5 miles from where we live now, but in a different town. Here’s the front…nice, huh?…
…and the back…I don’t go out but I can see it from several spots…at least that’s what Dad told me…I haven’t been over there yet…they are gonna take a month to move slowly so they won’t have to worry about me…I am moving once everything is set up in our new bedroom so I won’t be too scared…that’s the plan anyway…
That’s my Monday Meowsie News…I just keep on doing new stuff…I am getting more and more confident…hope the move doesn’t set me back too much…but we will all be together…
I do have one last thing…and it is a request…I need 3 more doggie volunteers to pawticipate with me in ‘Life Changing Interviews with Savannah: Real Cat and Dog Rescues Are Talking…”
I want to do one dog and one cat each month at least through December. I have lots of cat volunteers, but not enough doggies. I would like to have at least 3 more doggies who are willing to pawticipate…ya know, like Chancy did. So hope you know someone or have your own rescue experience you want to talk about…let me know. Thanks lots

I am better, thanks, but Mom saw that Dad picked up the wrong dry prescription cat food for me so he is gonna get the right stuff today..maybe that contributed, who knows?? I’m doin’ my Staircase Troll Job right now…almost go Mom with my tail..heh heh

Savannah your new house looks BEAUTIFUL! Seems to me you’ll have a lot of pretty views out windows at the gardens and trees (which of course means lotsa birds!!). I know it will be scary to go through the move but your parents are doing it nice and easy so perhaps you will just “go with the flow”. By the way, I too am a “stair troll” – my parents think it’s pretty funny that I pretend NOT to see them when they are trying to get up or down the stairs…tee hee…

oh my yes! We always keep our cars in a little cage all their own! Dad hates scratches too!
Hello Darling girl! You need to slow down on all this progress–you’re making me look bad over here! Yeah, pretty soon the Human is going to expect me to climb on stuff and play with her in lots of different places and stuff. Watch it!
Say, that’s a furry nice house! I like the trees and stuff–there will be a lot of good bird and squirrel TV I think. And it looks like there are stairs there also, you you can keep your troll job. Thanks for offering to take care of the Human. I’ll be sending her over just as soon as I learn to order online and open the cans. I guess it might be awhile. XOXOXO
Oh yeah!! forgot about all the stuff she does for you, huh? Gotta think about that Spitty. And the one thing we probably have in common for sure, no one, but no one, picks me up! That is why doing my nails or getting me in a PTU takes days of planning and plotting…Mom and Dad are getting sneaky now and I think my hours are numbered for how much longer I get to keep my nice long clicking nails….heh heh

oh yeah…I learned that from other blogs, like Easy, and Scylla and lots of others…cats are always snoopy!

You’re getting so much more confident! Mulberry and Pippin both like spending time on the stairs, the bipeds don’t always appreciate it. The new house looks really nice.
We are so excited to see that you’ll have stairs in your new house! It would be too awful to lose your Very Important Job so soon. Good for you getting so super comfy and all up on the furniture and stuff…don’t forget to leave furs and paw prints…the peeps love that.
oh yeah, they are already picking my furrs out of food and stuff…heh heh

About moving, a trick I did with my Angel Bobo that worked wonders was bringing him to the condo a few times BEFORE the move. I let him walk around, get the scent and then brought him back home. This way Savannah will get the scent of the new place AND will be leaving HER scent there as well. When she moves in, her scent will be there and it won’t be as frightening.
Sometimes we don’t have the luxury of time to do these preparations, but if you do, I strongly suggest doing that.
You could let her walk around an empty room, (or if some of your furniture will be there already that is even better), bring treats and her favorite toy…I guarantee doing this will help her adjust in no time!
BTW the townhouse is BEAUTIFUL! Congrats!!

oh Miss Caren, brilliant! We will talk it over and yes, we have time and we can move things over so I have a room or two with familiar stuff and I can mark my turf. Only problem is, I dont let them pick me up…
Oh, sweet Savannah you are doing so good trying all those new things. Your new townhouse is beautiful. We hope you will love it there and you will keep exploring and doing new things there too. You are such a sweet girl. Hugs and nose kisses for you and your mom.

thank you…it will be nice…just won’t ‘belong’ to us…sigh…Dad and Mom have not leaser/rented a home for 30 years. But we are all together and it will all be good.
What a busy week you had! I wish I had stairs. Maybe Pop will win his law suit and we’ll get enough money for a new place. When they moved her, they moved everything first, then took Nicky and Autumn’s litter boxes and food dishes and they were the last to move. Nicky never liked the condo but Autumn LOVED it and flourished.
That’s pretty much what we will do. Our bedroom will go last, and they will set it up as much like here as possible (smaller room) especially my safe spot with my scratching post behind a chair…and I will stay in our master bedroom and bath (its big and my food bowls will go there and my litter box) for a few days …at least we don’t have to move all at one time. But we are losing our home we owned and now will lease…bank got the house…sigh
