Caturday and My First Furrever Christmas Tree
Hiya! Savannah Here!
Several of you asked to see my first ever Christmas tree in my now furrever home. Last Christmas, I was still a foster kitty with then “Foster Mom” and “Foster Dad” (FM and FD in my earlier posts). So, I mostly didn’t get the whole tree thing, and they had their, now our, god-daughter for Christmas visiting and then some other people over for Christmas dinner, so I stayed mostly hidden.
But this year!!! A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE FOR THIS KITTY!!!!!
You saw me doing my patrol and inspection of the empty tree earlier…I had to make sure it was ready for decorating. I declared it was safe, stable and pawsome!
So we decorated Mom and Dad decorated the tree finally!
…hmmm…what does it smell like now that it is decorated??…
…oh!!! Look!!!…prezzies!!!…wonder if they smell too??…
…nope, the prezzies don’t smell…wonder why?…maybe if I check behind this one…
…nope, maybe on this side…
…hmmm…no smell on the prezzies…maybe I outta sniff the tree again…
…shhhh…I’ll just try a teeny nibble…don’t tell Mom or Dad!…
…WHAT???!!!…(who didn’t whisper like I asked??…which one of my furriends ratted me out???)…no, no Mom…not me…I didn’t bitey bite the tree…
…harumppfff…thanks lots guys!…I got caught…mabe if I go behind the tree…
…naw, now both Dad AND Mom are watching me like hawks!…
…MOUSES!…might as well leave…
After my inspecition and tasting of the tree…oh yeah, I forgot to tell you…the prezzies don’t smell because there is NOTHING in them…Mom just wanted to make my tree more photographic for my post today…Thanks Mom! (you can bigify the tree if you want to see the pretty ornaments better)
And guess what???…I found a special spot just for me…I like to get back here for a bit of contemplation (VBP)…and Mom bought the tree skirt JUST FOR ME! It is like all soft and poofy…nice!
MY FIRST FURREVER CHRISTMAS TREE…THERE ARE THREE OF THEM!!!
My wish is for every cat and dog to have a first furrever holiday symbol to call their very own like I do this year.
I have some other stuff to share with you tomorrow, but I didn’t want to overwhelm (vocab buidling project VBP) you today.
Paw Pats, Savannah
How awesome for you! I really like your stocking too, I’m telling my mom to get me one!

Wow your tree is ace!! and the fact that they got you three, and a rug – I think your gonna get lots of goodies this year!!
Savvy your tree looks bootiful! It looks a lot like ours does….I’ll have some pix of ours on my bloggy tomorrow since my parents FINALLY got it up and decorated today. We don’t have any prezzies under it yet BUT I napped under it all afternoon – I’m glad you’re enjoying your first ever tree and like me, the cozy feeling of lying UNDER it and just looking at how pretty it is!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Looks like you and the tree are going to be good friends. 🙂 It’s a great place to think contemplate. Our cats always loved being under the tree.
You asked about Brut’s aggression with dogs, we didn’t know it when we got him as a puppy at six weeks, but he had a bad upbringing with the breeder and has been that way ever since. So we have been working with him as much as possible to help understand and change his behavior. It’s taken some time, but we are slowly making progress.
Thanks for asking.
Pee. S. Brut isn’t a purebred Husky he also has Chow and Malamute in him.
Your tree is BEAUTIFUL! So very, very pretty. Come on over to my blog later and you can pick up a star for it. That’s right… I’m awardin’ you with the Blogger of the Year award.
Purrs,
Nissy from Nerissa’s Life
Your tree is beautiful Savannah! And you look so lovely underneath. I know you said that you couldn’t climb it because it’s artificial, but that never stops our resident numbskull. That’s right, Hitch makes a couple of attempt at getting to the top of our pre-lite Christmas tree every year. That’s why huMom and our boy/man wait a week between putting it up and decorating it. Got to let George of the Jungle have a shot first. YOUR tree is truly beautiful though. And it will stay that way because no one’s testing all the branches to see if they’ll hold a cat size ornament. A dumbbell ! Oh, here he comes. *what? I’m almost done, you can post tomorrow. Oh, I just said she has a nice tree.*. I’m back, but I better sign off now,
Purrs to you!
Mistletoe & Hitch
Gorgeous tree Savvy *sad ears* huMum won’t have a tree as she says I’m too destructive … her punishment shall be mice presents all over our bed *giggles*
Hey Savvy, Your Champion here. Hi Miss Linda.
I assure you I was not the rat! Do be careful about the bitey bite stuff, don’t want my charge getting sick.
What a beautiful tree, and even more special because it is YOUR first as a furever family member. 🙂 We wondered whether the boxes were for decoration… they are too pretty to open!
Enjoy your contemplation time. Mom just pointed out a rainbow outside our window, so we shall do the same. 🙂
Oh that’s a wonderful tree – the best for the first furrever christmas ;o) …oh you have eskimo-ornaments on your tree – thats beautiful ;o)
What a fantastic tree Savvy, we haven’t got our’z up yet 😦 Hope all thoze prezzies are for you 🙂 Have a great Sunday xx Luv’z you, your Alf xxx
Mollie and Alfie
We usually has lots of Krissymouse decorations but we has not hadded a live tree since I comed here. We do have lots of other fun stuffs though and usually I am a Really Good Boy and don’t mess with it. Usually. We’ll have to see.
Your tree is very beauteous, though not as beauteous as YOU of course. Also: It is a Kitty’s right to climb up the center trunk of a Krissymouse tree. Just so’s you know.
well, Spitty, first, thank you and the human for the compliments about my first furrever chrismouse tree. ANd I will not be climbing that tree because it would hurt…it is NOT REAL! So the “trunk” is hard and stickery…nope…I am happy just hangin’ out under it…paw pats, Savannah
Fine looking tree there Savannah! 🙂
– Brother Henry
OH, waving paw…hi Bro’ Henry! How is Leader Otis??? I worry he may be doing too much…he needs to stay down and let his leggie heal…are you and Bro Oliver and Thomas making sure he is safe?? And make sure the Guardians don’t let him near those nip bananas…not good mixed with his pain meds, just sayin’…Paw pats, Savannah
I think woo are supposed to sit on the top 😉
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
MOL! I might have a sore bottom if I did that Khyra!! So happy you could come by and see my first ever furrever home Christmas tree
What a beautiful tree! Our mom doesn’t think she’s going to put one out this year because we’re still adolescent kitties. Whatever that means!
oh fiddly dee…tell her you won’t touch it! she will believe you, right??!!
Your tree is absolutely lovely. It’s great that your kitteh tree is next to it so that you can lounge on it and look at the lights. Enjoy your furever tree, pretty Savannah. xoxo
oh yes…and I can PLAY under the holiday tree too!! Nice!
Savannah your furever tree is just gorgeous and we hope that Santa puts LOTS AND LOTS of goodies under it for you! We are certain that he will!!! Your tree is beautiful!
you are too kind Cody, and Miss Caren and Dakota, thank you so much. We don’t over do on gift giving, but I know Mom has this special stocking she bought just for ME! And I think it will have some stuff in it!!
Savvy, we all have drippy whiskers, but they are tears of happiness…
oh Miss Tricia, and all the KL kitties, thank you for finding joy in my own joy…this is a special holiday for me, Mom and Dad…we keep hearing the song from the movie Dad and Mom love called Bird Cage…”we are f-a-m-i-l-y!!” woot, woot!
Oh Savannah, your tree is just beautiful, and how magical that it becomes a trio when the lights are twinkling! Mom and Dad did a great job decorating, and you are doing super as the inspector.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
arwoo woo and play bows Phantom, Thunder, Ciara and Lightning…thank woo so much, play bows to all and so happy woo have the whole green grass again, Savannah

Nellie
thank you Nellie! Mom bought the tree skirt to compliment my furrs…no, really, I’m serious! And Ta Da! I look good!
What a gorgeous tree. Whee agree with Zena. You should climb it and be the angel ornament on the top! 🙂
Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil
xxxx
I am too big and it is too fake! MOL! but thanks for compliment. One of you would be better…nice to see you again. paw pats, Savannah
Can you climb to the top of your tree Savvy? I think you’d make a great ornament up there.
Your tree does look beautiful and I like the way it’s reflected in the large doors. The Producer always says she isn’t going to do anything and then finally will get around to putting a tree up. Not sure what Raffles will do with it though, he likes gardening and helps The Director ‘prune’ the trees outside.
I suspect a few ornaments might ‘die’ this year 🙂
ohhhh…I bet so PZ! happy you like my tree, and it is fake so climbing not happening for sure! Keep special ornaments OFF your tree this year for sure!
Beautiful tree Savvy! We don’t think a tiny nibble is going to hurt it. Much.. hee hee
MOL that’s what Dad says too!
What an awesome tree, and by some strange coincidence, I have the very same Christmas wish as you do!
good wish to have Sparkle. Some lady stopped at my former small shelter yesterday, volunteer opened door to see what she wanted, she literally threw a small kitten over her head and ran away. We don’t take surrendered cats, only pull from kill shelter. but we broke rules and kept this poor kitten. Volunteer was fast and caught it before it hit a wall…peeps are cruel and stoopid sometimes
Make sure you don’t get caught peeking at the packages!
Play bows,
Zim
BOL and arwoo woo…nothing in them any ways…just for looks! play bows back at you Zim.
What a beautiful tree! We get a real one and I’ve never touched it. Peeps are getting it next weekend. I can’t wait to smell it.
Oh thank you for the compliment! Dad can’t have a real one, they figured out about 7 years ago he is allergic to the pines! Mom bought all this fresh greenery from LL Bean for all over the house and then they got the tree and Dad’s asthma took off! So, Cod bless Target and fake already lights on trees! Probably saved their marriage actually given the lights!
TW and Pop used to always get a sore throat while and tree was up but now we get a Frasier and they seem ok.
oh, I will tell Mom…Dad’s asthma has just become worse in his addled old age and now even Mom has asthma, but her’s is mostly related to bad air and exercising in bad air…sigh
What a perfect tree for your first Christmas with your folks. We were going to ask about when you joined the family but just read that you are about to celebrate some awesome milestones. We guess you may have a few things planned to mark them and look forward to helping you celebrate 😀
Hi Miss Ann! Mom has been starting to think how to celebrate my Got’cha Day Jan 3. I think we may ask some of my blog and Twitter furriends over for a pawty with some nom noms and stuff. And we also have our first blogiversary looming in the early months of 2013. February 7 was my first ever post. It is late where you are Miss Ann, go to bed and sleep nice and warm. Paw pats, Savannah
What a lovely tree Savvy. I like you hidey spot, perfect place to keep an eye on the pressies!
I am thinking this hidey spot is gonna be really good for when people come over for dinner and stuff. I can watch, but not interact. Purrfecct!
What a lovely forever tree, when those prezzies smell they will even be funner.
Hi Muffy and company! Thanks for stopping by. Those prezzies won’t ever smell because we don’t give gifts to each other here. Well, Dad and Mom told me I will get my stocking stuffed for sure. But Mom and Dad stopped gifting each other and family ’bout 20 years ago. They felt they had all they needed, and family was fine too…so they asked family to stop sending gifts and either donate or use for self. Mom and Dad do their gifting by donating as much as they would have spent on all those gifts to a different charity each Christmas. Then cards get sent to family and friends to tell them a donation was made in their names. We think it is a cool way to show our appreciation for each other and family and close friends. So, no smellie prezzies under our tree…but now my stocking, that’s a whole other story MOL
We feel the same way, but the kids still desire a little something, so we have continued the personal giving for them. I think your donation suggestion in your cards is absolutely the perfect for the season. But the animal stockings, well, SantaPaws still fills those, just because…
oh yeah, I get a visit from Santa Paws, and if we have any family children under 16 years old, we try to give a little gift, Mom and Dad believe Xmas is for kids and well, of course, furrFamily!
how beautiful…truly beautiful. I love seeing your precious self under it. xoxox
shuffles paws around…thanks Katie Isabella. I bet you look really pretty under your tree too, and I will hop over to make sure you have all your stars posted, and well deserved I must say. paw pats, Savannah
Savvy, you look just gorgeous. You enhance the Christmas tree beautifully!! xox
awwww…Austin, you are just saying that!…(whispers…you really think so??)
Oh, sweet Savannah your tree is beautiful. and you are the most beautiful thing beneath it. We like your tree skirt too, you can get in some good nappy time there. Enjoy! Hugs and nose kisses
Waves paw to Chancy, Mumsy, Snookums, Pooh and Patches…I am on my tree skirt right now Chancy. Dad is watching TV and having a sandwich…yawn…I’m thinking about a little nap…zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Your tree is just beautiful. We are so glad you now have an official Forever Family to enjoy it with!
Purrs,
The Chans
