…first I found this one trying to get away from me on our bed…I practically had to hang my head off to catch a teeny drop of that sun puddle…

…thank Ceiling Cat…I managed to trap most of this one under me and so I had a good nap in it…

…this one is a totally new one I just found last week…Dad raised the shade WAY UP HIGH on this big tall window…I like to get on this window sill to watch the bird TV outside…but look what I found hiding on the stairs behind the shade when it was down…this SUN PUDDLE…shines right on my stairs!!!…

…then it gets even brighter as the sun moves…

…and of course the furry furst ones I found were in our living room by the big door…

  1. Sun puddles are most definitely Mother Nature’s gift to us kitties….we do love our sun…..and the fine art of figuring out WHERE in our houses to be at WHAT time is something we are masters of!

    Holiday hugs, Sammy

  2. A sunbathing Kitty nothing cuter except a snoozing bunny

  3. Eeeoww Savannah you iz doin some guud research (VBP) dere!! We haz no ‘sun puddles’ in da Winter here 😦

  4. Oh, it looks like you have a LOT of warm, inviting sun puddles in the new place. I like the one on the quilt on the bed. I’m going to go look for one on our bed … it just looks soooooo comfy!
Is your mom a quilter? Ours is! Have we had this talk before? (Mom’s losing her mind.)
    Play bows,
    Z-man

    • I think we did talk quilts Z-man. At least the Moms did. Mine does NOT quilt, but has about 15 from her Dad’s side of family and some her own Mom did. SHe thinks a couple may be late 1890’s. I don’t get to nap on “those” quilts…just the store bought bedspread one

  5. I love your sun puddle pictures, your coat looks so beautiful ;o)

  6. Good job on finding sun puddles. I am very afraid we are not going to have any today as it is over cast and gray here. ~Scylla

  7. You have plenty, at home we have none this time of the year.

  8. It’s hard work finding them so well done.

  9. Don’t wear yourself out with all this research – be sure to spent some time just relaxing! You are so lucky you still have sun puddles, I am looking at frosty and brr *sad eyes*

  10. aaaaaaaaaaaaah, aren’t sun puddles a wonderful thing?

by the way, you look very beautiful in those pictures, miss Savvy!

  11. I loves sun tanning too!:)
    Cotton

  12. Lots of sun puddles

  13. Hey Savvy, Jetty here. Hi Miss LInda.

We admire your thorough research… perhaps you can publish soon in Feline Journal of Science???

  14. Great research, Savy! It it impawtant for us kittehz to know where the best ones are at all times. We has lots of sunpuddles, but it is cold outside! Stay warm, pretty girl!

Our SunPuddles Move! In the winter, they is on the south side of the house and in the summer they is on the North side of the house and in the Spring and fall we don’t has too many. We never rally has any in the living room… Me thinks the best ones are in the winter as that is when we is inside and needs them!

  16. Savannah, you know that Phantom is very old and we think that means he is also very wise. He says there isn’t any such thing as a bad sunpuddle. Just find all the ones you can and enjoy them:)

Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

    • ok, now Mom has even MORE leaky eyes…we know Phantom is elderly…and we have just been feeling the journey of sweet Rusty over at Thundering Herd…and truth…Mom knows Phantom is feeling his years…and also…you as huFamily know the joy of his life…hug him tight, give him every sun puddle you can find…and I would send him all of mine if I could, paw hugs, Savannah

  17. Savvy, our house is ‘passive solar’ (I think that would be good for VBP) so we get sun puddles a lot. Mummy Janey say she need shades in the kitchen in the winter…she goes all squinty!
    The Maple Syrup Mob xxxx

    • whoa! first, you are spot on about VBP…more about that in January, and interesting about the ‘passive solar’…we can’t do anything about our power now because we ‘rent/lease’ our home…Mom and Dad would have done something different if they were able to keep their last home….good for you, paw pats Savannah

  18. I think you have found some really good ones so far, happy sunpuddling pretty Savannah!

  19. You are so pretty laying in the sun. Alas, I don’t have ANY sunpuddles in our condo. It faces north and east so the only time we have a little sun is when the peeps are asleep. I don’t know what they made them buy this dreary place.

  20. Excellent research there Savvy! Keep up the good work!

  21. Ummm Savannah you going to be finding and losing sunpuddles for the next 10 months (think you have been in your new home about 2 months?) as I’ve found the winter sunpuddles disappear and then autumn, summer and finally sprin sunpuddles. Could you please tell this very ingnorant Australian cat … what does VBP mean? xxx’s

    • heh…heh…well Jessie and Janey, me and a couple of paw blog furriends are going to launch a new challenge to all paw bloggers in January and those letters stand for “Vocabulary Building Project”…we have been working this for months now! We have protocols if others want to join in the challenge and a really cool badge to show on your blog page if you want to let others know you have joined in our new challenge. It will be ongoing for as long as anyone wants. We three have been doing it for months now between each other and decided to offer it to our blogging furriends. That’s all I can tell you now…paw pats, Savannah

  22. That’s a pawesome sun puddle collection you have there!!

Thank you again for the amazing Secret Paws gifts. We’re still unwrapping them. And hiding tissue paper from the humans.

Just wait until summer. That’s when my favorite sun puddle appears just after noon and last until the last rays disappear from the western sky. Sadly, this time of year they are short but oh so sweet. Enjoy your sun puddles, Savannah.
    Purrs to you,
    Mistletoe & Hitch

That is the most important part of adjusting to a new home – finding out where all the good sun puddles are!

  29. That is one good thing to do research on. We don’t have many sun puddles in our house. But it sure looks like you have some mighty good ones. We just might have to come visit you.
