Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Frolickin’ Friday

Whoa!! Meow about being ungrateful!!  My toesies turned TOTALLY PINK with embarrassment!

I FORGOT to YOWL OUT LOUD about my pawsome furriends Star and Leo over at Celestial Kitties…they passed an award to me…even tho’ I have it already a couple of times…I never ever want to forget furriends who think so kindly of me as to pass an award…THANK YOU STAR and LEO!!

The award is the new rendition of the Team Member Readership Award…

wonderful team member readership award

…I have already met all the protocols for accepting this a bit ago…so I now offer this award to any and all furriends who may not yet have it…again, very embarrassing…but I am not sure I even earn this award anymore.

…more embarrassed pink toesies…

…ahem….koff, koff…okey dokey…moving right along…here is something that will make all my furriends slap some smiles on those faces…be you woofie or kitty…you all luvluvluv rescue…RIGHT!!!

Today, Dad and Mom transported 7 kittens, all about 4 months old, to a vet clinic for spay and neuter..

My former Vet , Dr. Thompson, now retired, gives back big time to our community to help spay, neuter and rescue feral and stray cats…all ages.  She gives her time and DVM skills, exclusively,  with Community Concern For Cats (CC4C)…I have featured them before when Dr Josie was bottle feeding some of their rescues…click HERE

And there is another PAWSOME DVM, Dr. Linda Miller, who is partnering with Dr Thompson to help our community kitties…she owns and operates Cat Hospital of Clayton…and she donates her surgery to Dr Thompson, who gives her time and vet skills free of charge, to do all this wonderful work for feral kitties seeking their furrever homes and/or just general good health.

PURRlease…show Dr. Linda Miller how much all of Blogville, Twitter Anipals and Facebook Furriends appreciate all she does to help make quality medical care available to “rescue” cats…click HERE to go to Cat Hospital of Clayton’s Facebook page.

And for Ceiling Cat’s sake…PURRLEASE go visit Dr. Josie Thompson’s website…showcasing her very own Kitty Platoon AND the infamous Airborne Squad…click HERE

…here are some photos of the day of surgery…even a dental for an adult feral who was having trouble eating…most of his toofies were extracted…but he is a really nice adult cat and CC4C will make sure he goes to a furrever home, not back to the feral colony where he has lived…

…Cat Hospital of Clayton facility front…

…now back to my Friday Frocklin’…again, forgive Mom Linda’s rotten voice…she caterwauls horribly…but she so loves me…

Have a great weekend…

    Purrs Savannah

  2. Concats on the award. Bet you rolled over just to keep the Mom quiet. I think my post traumatic stress came out when I saw those poor kitties losing their kitty bits. EEK! Linda at A Call 4 Paws has a retired vet who does her ferals for like $10 each. A Call 4 Paws now has a FB page but I’m not sure they’re using it for anything.

    • Wow! That is a great price. Just learned last night that Dr Miller actually CHARGES for each spay and neuter EVEN though she doesn’t do them , Dr Thompson does all the work free of charge. I was really disappointed when I learned that. So Dr T and the vet tech are the only ones totally donating their skills and time so APAWS big time for them. And I never looked at the kitty’s losing stuff…koff, koff

  3. That is one fantastic cat hospital crew Savannah! Hey, Dad ismdoung good, thanks fur the kind words and purrs sweetie!

We “liked” Dr. Miller’s page but we LOVED the Airborne Division!! 7 kittens–woo-hoo! What an adventure. Your Mom & Dad are the best!

We have awards that are so old we are almost too embarrassed to post about them. My Human gets soooooooooo behind–so your paws don’t need to be pink (besides, the HUMANS are the ones with the thumbs–it’s their fault!)

Your Mom’s voice isn’t so bad! But why does she keep asking you what you’re doing? It was nice of you not to say, “I’m taking a BAFF, Silly Human! What do you fink I am doing?” It’s so hard to be patient with them sometimes, isn’t it?

  11. Great award, Savanah. And how Mom loves those pretty pink toes!

We give the highest award to Dr. Thompson and all those wonderful peeps who are helping the less fortunate.

Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  12. Congrats on your award, Savvy! And big paws up to Dr. Thompson and Dr. Miller for helping those kitties! And your peeps too…for driving those kitties there!

    • Thanks Ernie, Zoey and Wally…Mom and Dad actually hung around for a few hours helping weigh, take temps, and get cages ready for the kitties who were being prepped…it was a sort of line up MOL! There were about 15 kitties that were neutered, spayed or had dental work done. Pawsome day!

  13. Savannah you have the cutest efur pink toesies!
Wow that was really impressive. That is some very compassionate cat people giving back to help those kitties in need. WE all are very thankful for people like that.

    • ohhhhhh….Angel Abby…you came to visit me….(wipes leaky eyes) I was afraid I would lose you furrever…and I luv’d you so…thank you for coming to visit…I just knew you would not stay away long from Mom and your furriends…paw hugs, Savannah

  14. It’s nice to see such pawsome VETS!

  24. Whee love your Mummy’s voice and whee think your pawrents are the nicest hoomans to help those kitties out. Though taking them to the vet isn’t fun! They should go for a PIGnic or something! ^_^

  25. Your mom has a nice voice and I’m so glad she loves you sooooo much ,”Nana” :o)
Please give your mom and your dad a hug from me, that they were the “kittie-cab” today. It’s so nice that they support so much fourlegged friends.

  26. love your pink toesies Savvanah its not you fault about the award congratulations on that one by the way,xx Speedy and Rachel

  27. Oh Savvy I too am behind in awards…we must all have awardnesia…and trust me sweet one if you think mummy has a bad voice at least you don’t have to suffer like the gang here from me twirling around like a loon singing Kate Bush’s Wuthering heights…which reaches new lows!! Have a great day Savvy Big hugs Fozziemum xx

  28. You have the best human Savvy! The video is pawesome too! I also am very embarrassed and have much more of a reason to be… I’m very behind on all the kindly given awards. eeek! =^.^=

  29. Yay to Dr Thompson and Dr Miller for all they do for the ferals and strays. 🙂

  30. Sweet video! I love how you’re playing hard-to-get. That drives moms wild!

    Love and licks,

  31. Paws up to your mom for transporting the kitties for vet care! What a great opportunity. We’re glad to hear that the feral with the extracted teeth will find a forever home. CC4C sounds like a really good organization.

  32. Can I start a campaign for your mum to release a cd with all money made going to charity? BOL I think that should be her new challenge!!

Your folks are so great! Let us know how those kitties get on!

  33. Your Mom has great voice! I think you love teasing her with that flash of tummy waiting for her to tickle it so you can grab hand and bunneh kick it!

Waving paw...HI!...what'd 'cha think...??
