Monday Meowsie News

Hiya! Savannah Here!

Hmmmm…not sure where to start…a really, really busy weekend…so Mom didn’t have time to help me get around to hardly any furriends, so I am very sorry I have been missing from your comment queues.  Hope I get to show up later today and Tuesday for sure.

I have been really enjoying having our gas fireplace on.  Our living room is kind of small, so my end of the couch is right next to it…and I can sit and stare, make my biskits, and have Mom give me a pet now and then…I just sort of get entranced (VBP) by the flickering and warmth…I just stare, and stare…and if Mom reaches over and touches me…I get startled and let out a loud YEOWIE chirpy sound…makes Dad and Mom smile…

DSC_2808

…I like to watch the fire, and listen to the TV…and think about how fortunate I am to have this home…I start making biskits just thinking about how much difference a year has made for me…

DSC_2807

…then I make myself so drowsy (VBP)…I have to try to sit up…or I fall asleep too fast…

DSC_2806

…then I think, what the heck…I earned this nice warm blue afghan, pretty fire and all this love…so then I settle back down again…

DSC_2809

…and finally give it up…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

Now I do have something VERY IMPAWTANT TO SHARE…BUT NO PHOTOS…SORRY

Saturday night…Mom was already asleep…and I was next to her…

Then Dad came to bed and was lying on his back with his used iPad (he has the one I used to have, then Mom bought me the new one with the camera and all…so I gave Dad my old one)…he downloaded the Kindle App and was reading a book…the iPad doesn’t make as much light as the Kindle light so as to not wake Mom.

I looked over at Dad…and there was this nice flat place in his middle…and without thinking much about it…I got up and moved over…gave his middle a test with one paw…I had to make sure nothing would like sink in or anything…

Then…I GOT UP ON DAD’S TUMMY AND LAID DOWN!!!!!…JUST FOR A MINUTE…KIND OF A TEST RUN…so to speak…Dad was so stunned he didn’t breathe!!!

And,  because Mom and Dad were gone all day yesterday…when I sat on the couch with Mom last night, I came right over to her…I didn’t stay at the other end.  Maybe absence does make the heart grow fonder???

That’s all I have for today…but I think that last thing was a really big deal…my mentor and furriend Sammy always said I would just do something like that one day…

Holiday Gift For My Virtual Brother Boots

Hiya! Savannah Here!

My special furriends, Mistletoe and Hitch, are the only ones who guessed right…indeed (VBP)…my virtual brother Boots, who lives at Blind Cat Sanctuary and Rescue, in North Carolina USA, is the special, special furriend and furramily member who will get that large box for Christmouse!

I helped Mom shop for the 3 things we put in that box.

HOW DID YOU PAY! YOU ALL ASK!!!…heh…heh…it pays to have a friend in a high…well, ok…maybe not ‘high’…but a peep friend who has influence at a high level in an on line cat and dog product company.

In November, Mr Brent and Ms Melissa offered me an opportunity to ‘shop’ on their ‘dime’…at their company, Chewy.com…they gave me a $50 promo code to use as I purrleased.  They only asked that I meow a bit about my on line shopping experience …which I will do in a later post.  I decided to use part of the promo code moola to get my virtual brother, Boots, his Christmouse gifts to experience how well Chewy could send to one location when being purchased by someone in a different location…so…without any more explanation…

This post is all about BOOTS!

Alright, so I helped Mom shop at Chewy, then we waited…and my package finally arrived and I needed to get it wrapped and off again via postal service so Boots would receive it before Christmouse!

First, I had to make sure that everything was all there…I bought 3 things…I picked a Nip Kickaroo, a nip mouse and a really nice angled cardboard scratcher…I thought he would like to sharpen up his claws for that Kickaroo!!

…then I had to wash my paws…I didn’t want to get anything dirty…I had just had my night noms, so didn’t want to get Fancy Feast on anything…

wrap 2

…next…would it all fit??…first…how long is this Kickaroo??…hmmmm…

wrap 3

…ok, now if I add the Nip Mouse…

wrap 5

…yeah, this is looking pawsome!…next…making sure I have everything I need to complete the package…tape, check; card, check; scratcher, check; scissors, check; Kickaroo and Nip Mouse, check; and wrapping paper, check…

wrap 7

…ok…let’s get going Mom…I have the scissors…let’s do some cutting!!!…

wrap 8

…now…let me make sure that box is going to be OK…I better get inside to check the dimensions (VBP)…

wrap 10

…yup…looking good…oh wait a minute!  MOUSES!..I better not leave any smells…let me just do a quik tidy up…

wrap 11

…okey dokey…that about does that…let me just take a look see…ok, ok…not bad…

wrap 12

…I think this box is ready, the gifts are going to fit nicely…my work is done…MOM!!! DAD!!!…

wrap 13

…I am hoping that Miss Alana at Blind Cat Rescue will send me some photos of Boots enjoying his virtual sister’s Christmouse gifts…but…they are really busy…so I’ll let you know…

Hope you visit Chewy.com and let them help you with your own Christmouse gift shopping and more…

pee Ess…this is my first ever offer to get something IF I do something…so not sure of protocol…but Chewy.com only asked that I report on my experience of shopping with them on line in exchange for what has amounted to $65 USD and I am not obligated to speak anything but the truth of my experience. I will wait until my last order has been delivered before meowing about my experience. And I am a first time shopper with them having never even known of their existence…seriously…not kidding

About My Christmas Tree Eskimo Ornaments…

Hiya! Savannah Here!

I was enjoying my fireplace and my tree last night…and I got to thinking about something one of my furriends commented about a few days ago…

DSC_2808

My furriend Easy commented on my post about my First Furrever Christmas Tree…he noted (VBP) I had “Eskimo ornaments”…and he thought they were cool…

So, I thought I would just tell you all the story behind all our Eskimo ornaments…first, they are just Hallmark…not some handmade, specialty item…but they are special for Mom and Dad and now for me.

The very first one they got, you see, was WON by Mom’s pick of the litter show dog, Crusty…Snowmist’s Upper Crust, AM CH and Canadian CH.  He won best in puppy dog class at a practice match and the award was this fun Eskimo ornament..

ct 16

…of course it was so appropriate (VBP) for a Siberian Husky show match because it had the little boy hugging his Husky.  It is ALWAYS the first ornament on our tree…

ct 17

…here is my long before me Siberian Brother, Crusty…Mom is brushing his tail before showing him…she called him “Bunners” because he always squirmed danced on the grooming table and talked (arwooo wooo) whenever she brushed his tail…

…and he was a winner for sure…

So Dad started to put another Hallmark “Frosty and Friends” ornament in Mom’s stocking each year.  They had quite a lot by 2006 or so, the series started in 2000.  If you look at the photo, the one Crusty won was dated 1981.  Anywho, in 2006, Mom decided to make sure they had ALL the series up to date…and the ones  missing, she went searching Ebay for them…

And Mom actually found an original 1980, still in the box with price tag…and all the others they had missed over the years…so now they have the COMPLETE series from 1980 to 2012…that’s the fun story behind our Eskimo ornaments. I hope you enjoyed learning about them Easy!!

Well, I am going to take a nap in my special chair…and think about what to do for tomorrow…oh!! I know!!!

Tomorrow, Sunday…I will tell you who my special package was sent to…heh…heh…
