Savannah's Paw Tracks

Autobiography of a Former Shelter Cat

Foolish Bird Friday…

First let me apologize to my very special furriends…da’ Tabbies O’ Trout Towne…I am gonna be talkin’ “burd” today…so guys…ya might wanna like, ya know…skip reading this post…(wink, wink)

So, I was hanging out in my comfy playroom…not sure why Mom and Dad call it a “living room”…cuz it’s just chuck full of my play stuff…humans are weird…gotta luvluvluv ’em just the same.

…and then I hear this chirp…chirpity…chirpity…chirp…chirp…(and I swear it was ended with a little ‘heh…heh)

So OK…I am drawn to my large screen HD Bird TV station…

…and Oh Cat!…there is this bird…

…Mom says it is a dark eyed black capped Junk bird…and yeah…I’d like him in a junk pile after all the teasing he put me through…

This cheeky little bird spent about 15 minutes hopping from potted shrub to potted shrub…right outside my Bird HD TV Station…constantly taunting me with his fluttering and chirping and stuff…

…can you see him in that middle potted shrub???

…at times he got even closer…look really careful and you can see him in the plant on the right…that is very close to my Bird HD TV Station…

…and them he hopped back and forth, back and forth between that shrub and the first one…always screaming and taunting me with his stoopid chatter…

Now Mom thought this was all “hardy har har” funny…not to me…and he sure did look plump to me…and crunchy too…too bad that screen didn’t have a hole in it…just sayin’…

Paw Pats, Savannah

peeEss…for those of you who seem to luvluvluv having your ‘squeee’ look at foster brofur Leo…I told Mom it was OK to post just one photo of him…this is MY BLOG after all…harummppffff…

…Leo looking at some bird TV from MY MASTER BEDROOM WINDOW…another invasion of my castle!!

…shhh…looks over shoulder…Leo here…thanks for caring about me…I’ll try to come back later next week…hope my vet check goes great tomorrow so’s I can find my own castle…sigh

  2. I know this isn’t easy for you, but I do think you’re doing pretty good with another cat in the home.

  3. Your place is indeed a castle, I would say with bird TV like that. Glad you allowed just a smidgie of your blog to go to brofur Leo. That was nice of you 🙂

  4. That is some Bird-TV y’all have sweet Savannah! It sure is a fun way to pass the time…any old time!

Uh-oh. Like I said to the TTTabbies–watch out–it’s looking like a regular Hitchcock movie over there!
Also, watch out–I think there’s an INTROODUR headed your way this week. Just sayin.

  7. That’s a HUGE TV screen you have here, Savvy! I bet you can catch Bird AND Squirrel TV a the same time!

  8. That was very considerate of you to warn da tabbies about that stoopid burd… we know how they feel about burds… we spend a lot of time watching bird TV too and don’t even mind if it is a rerun!!

Glad Leo is doing better too!

  9. That reminds me of one of our neighborhood eateries. They have a *Junk* burger. Hmmmm… I wonder if it tastes like bird?

  10. Birds.. That’s Entertainment!!!

Pssst, sweet Leo! We love that photo of you. All paws crossed for your check-up.

    The Chans

  11. That is some impre3ssive wide screen bird TV!

  12. Ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodness!
    The REAL Maple Syrup Mob

  13. Leo’s looking bigger and so much fitter. Your Mom (and you) have done a fantastic job.
As for that bird – that sort of teasing should be against the law.

  14. We hope you gave that bird a piece of your mind, Savvy! We would. And Newton might rush the bird TV and splat into it, but only when he thought nobody was looking who would tell the whole blogosphere. That’s a great bird HDTV you have. Looks like you get some interesting channels, too!

  15. Oh what an annoying bird, Savannah! He’s lucky you can’t get out there…otherwise we know you’d give him what for!!

  16. Whoa! You took abuse from a bird! Were you ka-ka-kacking at the bird? I hope so cos they don’t like that kind of language. I’ve been doing quite a bit of ka-ka-kacking and TW laughs at me. I got even though. I bit her hard 2 times today.

    • nope CK, I don’t do the kitteh noises over birds; BUT Leo did get Mom this morning…with all 4 paws, claws out and a harsh bite and bunny kicks…he is getting very agitated being stuck in that bedroom for so many hours. Mom just kept saying NO…then applied hydrogen peroxide and neosporin…she is fine….and he is better cuz he was able to be out in the house about 4 times today…at least an hour each time. He also got a great vet check…he is good to go…gained a whole pound since he first came to us…my Doc was really purrleased

  22. Savannah I love your blog and your bird watching view is pawsome!! If you and I could team up together we could catch that birdie !! ~ Meow and Namaste! ~ Pippy the Feline Yogini

  23. Sometimes birds are nervy and brazen. Too bad there’s no cat door on your giant bird HDTV.

    Love and licks,

  24. dagnabbit!
    So close…cheeky little so-and-so!

  25. That was one tenacious bird. If he’d been in our yard, we would have called our neighbor cat, Sparky, over to deaded him. Birds sometimes get inside our catio ’cause there’s a small opening above the outer screen door where a beam goes across. They can fly right through there. It has never happened when we have actually been on the catio which makes us unhappy. Thanks for letting your human share the photo of Leo. Glad he continues to improve. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

We sees it! We could tolerate chirping but fluttering? Definitely, he was teasing you, daring you even to come out.

  30. That bird was just naughty taunting you like that sweet Savannah. That must have been 3D TV with that bird up so close. Hugs and nose kisses

  31. That is one special TV! Whee is super duper jealous now!

    Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil

ps. Leo, whee has paws crossed here that efurrything goes well. *huggles*

  32. Must be a conspiracy today Savvy…Trout Town was invaded and now your house…You cats need to have a confab on how best to turn back the invaders

  33. Hi sweetie – Yummmmmmmmmm! I’m coming over to help you get him. Maybe your mum could fix him for us and serve under glass!

  34. Savvy! That’s pawesome! I’m super jealous of your HD bird TV! The birds outside my flat think its acceptable to sit on my balcony! Ha! Not when I charge at them! =^.^=

  35. Hi Savvy! Well, up close and purrrrsonal bird TV is kind of fun until those pesky guys start TEASING……I have a few visitors like that too on our back deck. They see me in the big picture window behind the couch and stand on the deck and CHIRP – I know they’re saying “just try to get me big guy” and I wish sometimes that I could!!!! Anyway, thanks for being kind enough to show us Leo – he looks GREAT and let’s hope the vet gives him the “all clear” so he can get that forever home he really deserves AND you get your castle back!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  36. That must be the commercial break on your windows tv-channel – I’m always angry too that I can’t get the yummy snacks they show me in TV. Good luck for Leo’s vet appointment tomorrow!!!

Stupid bird. Our Grand HuMom started the habit of having bird houses and a bird bath (with water dripping at just the speed stupid bird like) in our yard. The houses are year round cause the stupid birds don’t fly south in the winter. The bath is just when the weather is above freezing. Although the HuMom sometimes fills it by bucket with warm water in the winter . All spring long we hear the baby birds yelling for food and we watch the mama birds flying to and fro from the bird market to feed her hungry birdbrats. We luv, luv, luv our bird television! It sounds like your Mom enjoyed the bird comic more than you? Maybe he needs a new act? Perhaps you should invite him for dinner? We think that sounds like the most fun. We hope the next bird act is more enjoyable.

( pssss. Leo? We are rooting for you! Good luck!)

  38. Burds do that! They are shameless with their taunting!! Love your massive burd tv screen. xoxox

  39. Sent to torment dear girl 😉 We’re crossing fingers for Leo’s vet visit.
