HIYA!!  SAVANNAH HERE!!!

I just thought I ought to start collecting some thoughts about how to get energized to work on Hump Day.

Yep…I heard the rumors…Mom L was having a little chat with The Kid Sage trying to help her understand why Mom L won’t be able to play with her as much on Tuesdays because she will be typing up my Wednesday post!

HUH!!??…that perked my ears up…so I stopped mid-action during my morning wash up and listened a little harder.

what did she say???

what did she say???

“Now Sage, you know how much I adore playing with you every day but on the days I type for Savvy, you also know I don’t play with you as long.  Well Sagie baby…it looks like Tuesday may get a bit busier for me…Savvy wants to make some changes in her blog and she is looking at Wednesday as an interesting day to post.  That means I can’t play as long with you on that day….”

Now, I never ever said zip about posting on Wednesday…I may have been thinking about giving myself new challenges…but Wednesday?  Well…I know lots of you write posts on Wednesdays…maybe I should practice?

This will be short, very important…but short…just to see if I like working on Wednesday…

I do have something important to write about so let me give this ‘Wednesday Writing’ thing a try…

The Kitties Blue, at Cat On My Head, passed a really cool shimmery award to me…the Butterfly Light Award.  I am so honored to have them think of me along with the other pawsome blogs they passed it to.  If you don’t know them by now, just follow the link above and hop over and say ‘hello’.

There…that wasn’t so tough.  Let me jot down some ideas for next Wednesday’s post.  I have to be ready to do my big reveal on Oct 1…and after all…that’s a Wednesday!

The Kid Sage and I have already been thinking about how I can let everyone know to be looking for things to change on Oct 1…even our neighbors are gonna want to know about what’s happening on my bloggy…well…actually on my Twitter and Face Book too…(ooppps…said too much already…)

An Update to Tigger’s Search: Adult Cat Needs A Home

HIYA! SAVANNAH HERE!!!

(this is a very long post…just a warning if you are in a hurry)

I have something serious to share

I have something serious to share

I am back again with important news that really puts our sweet mancat Tigger, an adult cat,  between that rock and hard spot we hear the humans talk about every now and then.

You see, we thought Tigger would be able to move back to Kitty Corner by the end of this month when his foster Miss Tammy is leaving on a several day holiday.  We were excited because we hoped this would put Tiggy in front of some of the walk in traffic who come looking to adopt adult cats like him.

And then last Tuesday…a fire in an office above Kitty Corner, and Contra Costa Humane Society’s offices…changed everything.  At 1 AM the Adoption Manager and Executive Director were called by the fire department to immediately evacuate all cats (and one rabbit).  Both of the staff members live about 25 minutes away…but by the time they arrived they found the doors wide open and the fire men blowing smoke clearing ozone through their whole space.

KC Fire 01

The staff froze afraid all the cats had escaped outside…but the very responsible and caring firemen had grabbed all the cats they could find and placed them in small offices with doors but no exterior exits nor windows…so the cats could not escape.  WHEW!!!

The property manager was there and quickly let the staff move all the cats to another building just about 200 feet (60.96 meters) down the street.  The space is large and empty…so the two staff drug several cat towers and beds so the cats could hide and be comfy…and food, water, litter boxes….they worked until 5 AM getting the cats settled.

Mom L went over as soon as Miss Chrissy, the adoption manager arrived next morning about 10:30 AM.  Mom L helped do some things and took photos of the cats and their temp home.

I know it looks like there are not cats…but they are all in that one large room and the smaller one…just too tired and terrified to move…

CCHS had no smoke, fire damage…just the toxic smell of the fire and smoke which will keep them out of their offices and the cats out of their space for at least a week if not more.

This puts Tigger in a possible dilemma…he likely will not be able to move into a private suite at Kitty Corner by the end of the month.  And as of today…not one…not even one single call has come in to inquire about Tigger.

I am going to ask once again…Will you help me network Tigger even more than we all did when I first asked on August 14th…one WHOLE MONTH ago.  He needs a home to call his own. Miss Tammy must keep him in a bathroom during the day as she works…and she always lets him out into a hall and a larger room as soon as she gets home.  But he needs to have more space and a home he can claim as his.

On September 5th, I posted my first update…click HERE if you missed the last update and click HERE for Tigger’s full story.

Here are some of the photos you have already seen of precious, loving and playful Tigger…

I have helped Mom L create a flyer that can be downloaded safely and securely.  My pal Brian, over at Brian’s Home, lets me borrow some of his server space to house rescue flyers and what not.  You can click HERE to be transported to the flyer.

I am asking, maybe even pleading, for help finding Tiggy his home. Please, if you, or someone you know, lives anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California or even in Southern Oregon…PLEASE download the flyer and post it in Veterinarian Offices, Pet Supply Stores, at an public place that will allow you to post his flyer.
We will provide transportation for Tigger anywhere in California and Oregon if CCHS approves the adoption application.  And as many of you know….Tigger has developed a special passion for a very large box at Miss Tammy’s house…

Because Tiggy (he is known as Tiggy and Tigs to his furriends) loves that box so much…Mom L made him a brand new one…and it will be his to take to his new home…he will also come with one month’s supply of soft food and kibble and a new medium cat tower/scratcher.  He has had an expensive and much needed dental already…so his new family will not have to bear that expense again for a long time hopefully.  He is vaccinated, micro-chipped and all set to go!  Box and all…

 Tiggers very own box
Please, help me Paw It Forward with Tigger…he could be snuggled up with you or someone you know in a heart beat.  I truly appreciate anything any of you can do to help him.

Tigger’s Search for a Forever Home

HIYA!!   SAVANNAH HERE!!!

DSC_4967 edit

This is a product review for Chewy.com…for cat food…very good cat food…apparently ‘exceptional food’ when considered by other ‘species’…oh yes…you are certainly going to want to read on…seriously…just sayin’….

The product is Best Feline Friends, which is made by Weruva.  Now in this feline friendly home we believe that Weruva is one of the brands that pays particular attention to making sure that their cat food products are just about some of the best produced.

When we searched to find some opinions…we were especially impressed with the review published by our great friends over at The Conscious Cat.  The review was last year…but they addressed our very first concern…what in the world does “Product of Thailand” imply???  You can read their review right HERE…and this is what they say about the concern over their production in Thailand…

Their diets are made in Thailand.
I generally prefer foods that are manufactured in the US. David Forman explained: “Our foods are produced in a facility in Thailand that also makes food for people around the world, including the US and the strict EU and Japan. Similar to our USDA, there is a branch in Thailand called the Department of Livestock Development (DLD). The chickens we source in Thailand are part of an Animal Welfare Standard that sets forth ethical treatment guidelines that helps protect livestock and cattle at the farm, during transport and at the time of processing. Thailand is the 3rd or 4th largest poultry producer in the world for human consumption with much of it exported…so there is heavy regulation by the Thai government to ensure the ethical treatment of animals as well as high processing standards. The diets of the chickens is non-GMO.

And here is what we learned about the ingredients of the BFF products we reviewed…

The Ingredients – The main ingredient is a red meat or dark meat from tuna, primarily skipjack or bonito, two smaller and highly sustainable species. The cuts contain lean muscle meat and have a taste and aroma that drives kitties wild! Amongst the various flavors, we include value added toppers such as boneless skinless chicken breast, duck, lamb, salmon, shrimp and pumpkin.

Wild Caught and Dolphin Safe – And speaking of kitties going wild for BFF, all of the fish used is wild caught, with the exception of tilapia. The catches of fish are also certified to have been safe for dolphins and turtles, as certified by the ships’ captains.

Having read all that…Mom L decided it was ‘A OKAY’ for her precious girls to have a sample of this food…

Next up…The Kid Sage…

SLURP, GULP...GONE!

SLURP, GULP…GONE!

…and moving on to more discriminate palates…heh…heh

Mom L decided to take the product review one step further and asked Miss Tammy, my hero, if we could ask her cats to give this product a try…and of course…she said “YES”

…you are so going to luvluvluv this slideshow…

Now we can give this product from Weruva…Best Feline Friends…TWENTY PAWS UP…and FOUR of those PAWS are from a WOOFIE!!!!

NOTE: We were provided several packets of this food as samples by Chewy.com. We were not compensated for this product review and all our research, opinions are our own.
